I first discovered this place when I was living in OC and it quickly became one of my favorite dessert spots. Whenever I am near a location, I have to stop by. What keeps me coming back is how many options there are. You can get your soft serve in an Ah-Boong (their signature fish-shaped waffle cone), a regular cup, or the Upside Down, which comes with a filled fish-shaped waffle cone sitting on top of the soft serve. There are also so many fillings to choose from, including Nutella, custard, red bean, matcha custard, and black sesame, plus toppings like Biscoff crumbs, Oreo crumbs, macarons, cereal, sprinkles, and fruit. I also love that the soft serve flavors change regularly, so there is usually something new to try. My go-to flavors are Cookies & Cream, Matcha, or whatever fun swirl they have available that day. On this visit, I got the Pistachio/Cookies & Cream swirl and a variety of filled Taiyaki. Everything was fresh and delicious. The swirl was creamy and flavorful and the taiyaki were just as good as I remembered. The taiyaki are honestly a must-order for me. They are crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside and pair perfectly with fillings like Nutella, Matcha, or Oreo. Another plus is that parking is super easy since this location is in a larger shopping center. If you are a fan of soft serve, taiyaki, or just fun desserts in general, this place is definitely worth checking out!

oh we've ALL been waiting for this one. Somi Somi's GH location is open and by god if it isn't everything we've DREAMED OF and more. Not only do they have the staple ice cream ahbong and taiyaki (which are delicious. my favorite taiyakis are the cheese and oreo one, which is crazy because i don't even like oreo), but their special peach flavor is TO DIE FOR!! Yum yum yum. perfect in this heat. Other than the food, the store is immaculately decorated and has so many cute aspects. I'm loving the pins, stickers, and merch that they sell. saur cute!!!! I am purchasing hella merch. And finally, the staff and ownership are the cream of the crop. the belle of the ball. the ahbong of the ice cream cup. So quick, respectful, and amicable to speak to. It was a pleasure to be around them the whole time. WHAT IS THERE NOT TO LOVE ABOUT THIS PLACE! What are you waiting for?? GO GO GO GO!!!

The place is still new so there was still a line but not horrible and it does go by fast. They are pretty efficient here. Got the upside down taiyaki with milk soft serve, biscoff crumble, and black sesame filling. The taiyaki was fresh and still warm, the soft serve was very creamy and light (almost fluffy), and the black sesame was very umami. Parking is a little bit of a hassle, may have to park a little farther but it's worth the walk. Can't wait to try the other flavors and the drinks too. An asset to the valley!

Great ice cream in this heat and great service! Love the layout of the place and how it is conveniently located to other restaurants. They also have cute merch!

We were super excited for Somisomi to finally open, we have been waiting for it ever since we saw the signage. We have been to the other locations so we knew what to expect, but the line was insane. The place itself was spacious and clean. The ice cream was good, we got the pistachio and milk / custard. Both were creamy and hit the spot on a hot day. We tried the custard and a Nutella Taiyaki, they did not disappoint. Everything was well worth the wait.

Delicious ice cream! friendly staff with clean environment. Waffle cone is good as well and cute

The Valley is on the up and up! I was so pleased to see that they opened up one in my most recent visit down. There was a bit of a line but totally expected.

Pulled up for their grand opening and even though there were a lot of people, they surprisingly got through everybody pretty quickly with great customer service!! I got the cookies and cream ice cream with fruity pebbles and cocoa pebbles on top with an Ahboong ! They were making fresh ahboongs and fresh taiyakis on the spot! The cheese filled taiyaki was my favorite it reminded me of a grilled cheese! Everything here tasted amazing and I'll for sure be back! It's clean and modern in here!

The atmosphere with their grand opening of a mini photo booth, merch display, open space and the options of menu was beautiful and welcoming! I love how the service was very quick and personal one to one to make sure the order was correct and allow the customer to have their choice of toppings! I was very fortunate to get a free takyaki so that was a surprise I did not expect and made my day! There was a long line but the wait wasnt too long. The menu options were very clear and have variety of options for everyone including the options if any allergens and etc. Overall a great experience! My only concerns would be how it goes over the summer with the heatwave, and how their approach to that. Thank you!

The portion was generous, the flavors were bold without being overpowering, and it had that true "special occasion" feel. I'd 1000% keep coming back just for this dish. And share this gave spot of ours with our close family and friends. Service: 5 stars Service was excellent from start to finish -- attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming without feeling overbearing. Everything came out smoothly, and the staff made the whole meal feel easy and enjoyable. Great service definitely elevated the experience. And they never rush us to leave. Very polite imo's (Aunties)/ ajumeoni. Location/Parking/Ambiance: Lots of parking at the back of the restaurant. Surrounded by images from SKorea. Not too fancy, but not really needed. The food and service is 5 star for me and my family. Visited with my closest friends quite recently.

One sip in and suddenly I was sitting up straighter like the soup had personally corrected my posture. The rib eye is probably the move here. Juicy. Tender. Nicely seasoned. Just a very "let me not play with my food choices today" kind of order. It does not reinvent steak. It just shows up, looks good, does the job, and leaves no notes. Honestly. Very dependable. Very adult crush. The beef soup hit too. Deep flavor. Comforting. The kind of bowl that makes you pause mid-conversation and point at it like hold on. This is good. It had that slow-cooked taste that feels like somebody's auntie was in the back refusing to let the broth be mediocre. The staff is so lovely here. Sweet. Welcoming. On it. The bathroom was clean too, which is always a strong sign that the establishment fears God and respects the people. The vibe is easy and relaxed. Nothing extra. I love the homemade kimchi and takuan. I could eat both of these with some rice all day. We started with some noodle soup. Handcut noodles, beef dumplings and vegetables made for a comforting start to the meal. Then we got an order of dim sum. They give you quite a few pieces. They are stuffed with pork and Chinese and are absolutely delicious. We also got a half order of the Korean Fried Chicken. It was piping hot and very crispy. The kimchi steamed buns were next. They were large and very filling. Each bun was packed woth kimchi, pork and vegetables. We ended with sweet red bean steamed buns. These were also large and filling. A great way to finish our meal. A great place for dumplings and not worrying about leaving hungry. Great service too!

A whole order of chicken is $28.99. We would definitely order again. Dumplings are handmade fresh daily. King Steamed Dumpling With Pork And Vegetables is huge, fluffy and bouncy. The taste of the filling was okay. The dim sum was a good size and looked pretty. Hard to pick up with chopsticks without the bottom breaking. The bottom was really delicate so using a spoon makes it easier. The Marinaded Beef $15.99 (half order) was perfect with rice. Complimentary small Sides: kimchi, pickled radish and cabbage salad. I really liked the pickled radish. This place is tucked away in a strip near the Northridge Promenade Shopping Center. Parking can be difficult during peak hours. Nyi had wonderful customer service.
