That warm & cold combo is a total game changer! Don't believe me??? Try it!!! We went with a big group and tried a bit of everything: My Order: Cookies & Crème soft serve with Fruity Pebbles. My Sister: Matcha & Milk soft serve with Cocoa Pebbles. My Girl: Matcha & Milk combo with Custard filling and Graham Cracker sprinkles. We also grabbed a 5-pack of Taiyaki to try all the flavors. The Cookies & Crème and Custard were solid classics, and the Red Bean and Cheddar are must-tries if you want something different. But the standout was the Dubai Chocolate yummmmmy!!! seasonal flavor catch it while you can! This location has plenty of parking and the inside is more of a grab and go spot. There is a bar area where people are able to stand and eat. There is a park across the street so it would be a great option to eat there as well. There's three kiosk to order from which makes things more efficient when it's busy. I've been living Somisomi over the years and I love the taiyaki here the most. It's so crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside. I haven't been here in a while and saw that they have a dubai chocolate taiyaki flavor so I had to try it!! My absolute favorite is the nutella one you can't go wrong with it. I got 2 taiyaki, 1 nutella and 1 dubai chocolate to try. I wish that there was more nutella filling inside there wasn't that much this time :/ The dubai chocolate one was so disappointing. It was hard to eat and it was a lot to chew. The inside was a bit dry, I think there could be more of the pistachio creme inside. I tried the ube and strawberry swirl, as well as the milk and limited edition sakura berry soft serve flavors this weekend. Their Asian flavors are usually well balanced, not too overdone or too subtle; the sakura berry was a slightly floral strawberry flavor that I really enjoyed. The taiyakis are made fresh, so they're warm and crispy to pair with the smooth and creamy soft serve. Knocked one star only for the Dubai chocolate taiyaki. It was an uncharge of $1.95 per piece and both the flavor and amount of filling were disappointing. The kataifi was still crispy and fresh, but there was hardly any pistachio flavor, my guess is it was mixed in and overpowered by the chocolate. I'd say don't fall into the hype trap of this one! overall, somisomi is pretty solid ice cream place for subtle asian flavors. the ice cream is always super creamy and rich. there are some flavors that i definitely would not recommend by guava since it has a strange aftertaste. recently had their strawberry milk swirl and it was a bit too sweet for me. i'm a big fan of their custard ahboong and custard taiyaki. any variation of custard is pretty good at somi somi. came to try their dubai chocolate taiyaki and it did not rate high for me unfortunately. it was a 3/10 for me since there was barely any pistachio taste to it. i've also eaten a lot of dubai chocolate chewy cookies and prefer the texture of the katefi to be a bit harder but it was a bit mushier during the cooking process. the overall taiyaki tasted more like ferrero rocher than dubai chocolate. read more

I've given SomiSomi a few tries and tbh, I find it quite overhyped. Granted, I seem to be the only one who feels this way. Staff here is very focused on their job leaving the interaction & customer service to be lacking. I couldn't care less but my toddler's attempt at connecting with employees ends up one sided. The soft serve is good- nothing overly sweet. The fish cone is great for photos but nothing I'd openly crave. The taiyakis have a good slight chew to it and there a a number of fillings available. Service is a bit slow and there's no seating like many other locations. Ample parking and tons to do nearby including shopping and eating before indulging in wonderful soft serve. Always snag an upside down Ah-Boong for the full experience. Better than a cone because of the softer texture, includes a filling, and doesn't spill because it's upside down. The amount of filling at this location seems to be very light though. I'm a big chocolate decadent fan, so I typically get the cookies and creme soft serve and it is fantastic. I found the cookie butter flavor a little too milky but I would eat it again. I love the taiyaki. It's always fresh and warm and perfectly chewy and crunchy. I always get the Nutella filling so I can't really speak on the other fillings, but I think it has just the right amount of filling inside. Toppings are yum and they never have too little. Ive had the Biscoff and Oreo ones and they are a nice addition. LOVE LOVE the macaroon it's always so chewy and yum. The service is pretty fast when there's only a few people. Been here once & thoroughly enjoyed my experience first time with the soft serve variety & taiyaki made to order. Today left me feeling disappointed. I didn't realized it until after, but even after paying extra for black sesame filling, I ended up with these old taiyaki that has sat out for I dont know how long. Because mine was extra crispy (close to hard). I haven't had a taiyaki in months so it was a treat after a hike. I still finished it, but next time I will make sure to ask how long the taiyaki has been sitting out & request a fresh one made. I have never had a hard taiyaki in the laat 4 years of enjoying them so it was never something I needed to think about. Maybe the young fella working today when I came in might need a follow up on quality control to ensure this doesn't happen again. This location is roomy on the inside and has plenty of standing room with a bar top. There are a few tablets for self-orders and the employees are there and can help as well. After a not so good experience at the hair cut place next door, we walked in here to treat my kids. Clean and cute place. Serving taiyaki's and soft service ice cream. Walked in and there was kiosk. A little confused with all the options. So we asked the guy behind the counter. He was very helpful and polite. We got two taiyaki's - cookies and cream, Nutella and custard. We also got a soft serve which was also cookies and cream. While the taiyaki's were baking, we got our soft serve. Yummy!!! And a whole lot of toppings. He gave us our warm taiyaki's which were warm. Perfect combo. Only thing missing was some chairs. It was raining so we had to stand and finish all our yummy dessert. It would be a lot easier for little kids if there were chairs.
