I have been wanting to check out Paleta Planeta for the longest time and finally got a chance to on a Sunday around 8:45pm! Located in downtown SJ and there is a parking garage right across the street. It was not too busy when we arrived. Limited indoor seating. They sell ice cream scoops and paletas (Mexican popsicles) with very unique flavors. The staff said the Cookie Monster paleta is the most popular, so I ordered that with a half chocolate dip. The ice cream was very creamy and sweet! I liked how there was a whole Oreo and cookie inside the paleta - messy but delicious. Satisfied my sweet tooth for the night. Very friendly staff. I'm so glad Paleta Planeta now has a brick and mortar, and the location is easily accessible as well. The interior is fun and definitely decorated to the space theme--lots of astronauts and galaxy vibes. There were a few pieces of decor (like a giant hanging paleta) that the children inside really flocked to. It would be a fun photo op as well, if you're into that kind of thing. They had a large selection of paletas and various ice creams (I didn't check out that area), as well as a menu that includes some savory items. My main gripe is how disorganized the interior setup is--you're supposed to enter the payment line/queue straight from the door, but all the flavors are on the sides of the registers, and not posted anywhere on the hanging menu. This caused a crowd of mass confusion, as people would (understandably) flock to the flavor selection and consequently order there, technically cutting in front of those waiting in line to order and pay. Fab for lunch, ice cream for dessert - it's a choose-your-own-adventure of deliciousness. And the best part? It's budget-friendly! I've spent way more at other ice cream joints, and gotten way less joy. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable, the product is top-notch, and my daughter (who, let's be real, is a popsicle queen she'd live off them if she could) says the only thing missing is a slightly smaller popsicle size (she's not a fan of the paper tray). And speaking of missing things, where's the rewards program? I'm practically a regular! And hey, some merch with that killer logo would be amazing!
