I had been in need of something to use as a tv stand, stand-in in my living room space. I was using an end table for the time being and I knew that wouldn't cut it in the long run. I had stopped here previously and saw an item I thought would have been perfect. But, with it being so large, and me being only me, I wouldn't be able to move this unless I had some help. With a call out to family, I knew I would still be too late for that item. See, the one thing I do not like about these places is that if you purchase, you have a set amount of time to pick it up and take it home. I know I would not be able to secure that item. But, when the cavalry arrived, I was set to go here and make a purchase, even if it wasn't for the item I was hoping for. I am kind of glad that I didn't get that item, because looking back now, it would not have fit in my apartment in the least. I am happy with the two items that I did end up purchasing. For less than $40 I came home with two items, even if I did have to make two trips. I came on a good day here. One thing to keep in mind is check out what tags are discounted even more. One tag will be 75% off and others will be about 40% off. I can confirm that the prices here are outrageous. If it wasn't for the discounted pricing that day, I would have spent close to $250. I did get a deep discount, but if I would have come another day, it would have been a different story. Biggest complaint here, is that when they receive new, unopened items, they really do overprice them. They really go out of their way to make it unobtainable just to keep you coming back.

I had been having functional problems with my Whirlpool top-loading washing machine and after much frustrating research, selected a company to repair it. I gave them the make, model, etc. Well, that was a kerfuffle!! They never showed or called and made excuses the next day. They could not offer a workable appointment subsequently, and I moved on. I had read some reviews on Jeff's Appliance Services but was dubious..so I posted on Nextdoor asking for recommendations. Jeff's was one of only two I received. I called one afternoon and left a message. Jeff called back first thing the next day (he limits office hours to the mornings and does repairs in the afternoons). I explained my situation and gave him the make and model of the washer. He pretty quickly suggested that I might get the part repaired under warranty, despite the fact that my washer was almost 2 years old. He thought Whirlpool had had a significant problem with a part and was offering repair...but to make sure he said he would call me back after researching more about the issue. Sure enough, Jeff called back in about 10 minutes to verify that I could call Whirlpool with my information and they would fix it for free. He told me exactly what I needed to do. He said he could fix it for me, but he couldn't get the part for free and would have to charge me for his services! So...I followed his suggestions....and,indeed, my washing machine was repaired quickly and free of charge by Whirlpool authorized repair service!! So...Jeff has impressive knowledge about specific appliance issues, verifies accuracy and shares it honestly. Oh, yeah, he could have taken advantage of my situation and made himself some money, but he CHOSE HONESTY, TRANSPARENCY AND INTEGRITY! Those, qualities are worthy of 5 stars to me ... or more. So, while I will not enjoy having an appliance malfunction, I do look forward to meeting Jeff for the first time and thanking him in person for exemplifying true WISDOM AND INTEGRITY !!!

The repair technician arrived at my home the same day, and spent approximately 90 minutes going back over the previous repair work and going much more in-depth in this second go-round. After completing the work, he explained what he did, what he found, and then ran a cycle through my dishwasher. The next day, I ran another cycle, and the leaking issue had been fixed. As I am someone who does believe in giving people and businesses second chances and opportunities, and because I have seen them perform excellent and professional work before (see my original review), I am likely to give them my business at least once more to see that this experience is an outlier and not their typical course of business.

One word for that: egads! We did a frantic online search to find appliances, and stumbled upon Appliance Land Etc. The Appliance Land website didn't show many details about specific appliances in inventory, but we went anyway, trying to avoid the big box stores if possible. They had a great selection, but really only one in the size that we wanted (30"W 66"H 30"D) but it matched exactly what we were looking for. Dennis was amazingly helpful and awesome. He checked the inventory and saw that he had last year's model of a fridge in the size that we needed. He offered us that model for about $50 off the normal retail since it was a floor model. Turns out, the inventory was wrong and the model on the floor was the 2015 model. He offered us the same discount on the fridge, and we're having it delivered for free on Tuesday. I'll write an update to my review after the delivery. They offer haul-away for $20 and they will recycle it. A couple of notes, we found the same model fridge at either Lowes or Home Depot, and it was the same retail price. We chose to support small business. Dennis also gave us some good advice on microwaves and how easy it is to install them in lieu of a vent. I would highly recommend these guys to anyone shopping for appliances. We're looking to redo our kitchen in a year or so, and we'll definitely be visiting these guys when we shop for appliances.
