Food is good. Long drive thru lines. Sonic Drive-In is definitely for seated customers rolling up. I stopped by in one of the bays in the late afternoon, but all the cars in the pull-up line were given first dibs. I was left waiting for about 20 minutes and counting. They should interchange serving a car in line then a car in the bays. That would keep the flow of products, food and drinks more fair. The menu is still good (it was a while since I have been at a Sonic) but I noticed a lack of sort of updates or seasonal variations. I expected at least 1 item that was new, that I had never seen before that I could try. Apart from milk shake flavors I did not see much that caught my attention. The staff was friendly but relatively slow given there were only about 3 cars in line. Visitors in line were dumping their 2/3 empty soda drinks and the ice out their windows right in front of the Sonic building. Employees should allow that. I ordered some burgers and fries. The food was made delicately - not squashed - and the taste of both fries and burgers was decent. The cheese was sort of thin and all in all the food WAS hot when it was delivered. I would come back to this location. It was clean. Staff friendly. Food HOT! All in all a slightly above average Sonic, with a bit slow but friendly service in the Albany area. The booths and bays are covered so if it rains you are not in a downpour. This location makes breakfast faster than dinner in the afternoon I have noticed. I love Sonic in TX. Was excited when they opened some in Albany. Unfortunately this location is poorly managed. I can tell the workers there do not care about customers. In fact look at the images. I ordered the special Tropical Heat Triple Smash. Ordered the triple since I know their smash burgers are like the size of sliders. You can see in the photo they gave me a double and the 2nd patty was only half a patty. Gonna write sonic as this is disgusting. Also, I used the app and got to their right when the order was ready. No one out front. Took 5 minutes for someone to show up and then 10 minutes later to get me my order. It was cold and inedible. Stay away from this Sonic. It is horrible and sad for Sonic. read more

I ordered online and waited over 20 minutes after the promised time to get the food. There wasn't anyone at the cashier. A couple people stuck their head out and said it would be a minute, but 20? I have never been to a Sonic and will never go again. The tots were bland, no salt or anything and they taste like cardboard. They got worse the colder they got. The burger is subpar and sloppily made. The "meat" just didn't look right. I threw it out. As we were waiting, there were also others waiting to either get their order or place an order. These people can't get an order right to save their lives. First of all, their mobile ordering stations weren't working so we had to come in to retrieve our orders. Second of all, the wait for food was completely unacceptable. The food was done way later than the time it said on the app and my boyfriend ordered in person and they completely forgot about his order!! When he reminded them, he was faced with attitude and they had to be reminded about his Cherry Limeade and sauce for his tenders. Mind you, he only got 3 tenders and the things I previously listed. This place is actually a -100. I was driving to Lake George & stopped here as it's right next to a gas station & I needed gas. Well, this Sonic gave me more gas than the gas station next door. I got on the drive-thru line with 2 cars ahead of me. For the next 12 minutes, nothing happened. None of the cars ahead of me moved. That was far more than enough. Our order was correct (but they gave me a double cheeseburger instead of a single-I hope someone didn't get screwed out of their order!)! I just stopped at the newly opened Sonic while I was driving back to Albany from Glenmont. I didn't order food but I spent a lot of time in line at the drive through. I can't be too upset with the employee at the drive through, it was his first day. Maybe the management could have done a better job with training or maybe not putting the newest guy on the drive through window. All seven stalls were filled, that's right... only seven stalls at this location. Only one drive through instead of the double ordering lanes at othet Sonics. I contibuted to the long wait in line by asking about my raspberry lime-ade. I paid an extra 49 cents for the raspberry flavor which the manager told me is clear. I expected red, similar to the cherry lime-ade flavor but ok, maybe it is clear. But convinced that the manager was telling me my order was accurate I drove home with my beverage. First sip to last, just lime-ade. Bummer! I'm not sure I'll be back soon. Maybe when the dining area re-opens I'll check it out. $6.88 for two medium sized sugary soft drinks. The busy drive through, inexperienced staff, and lack of open stalls makes this an undesirable stop right now during the COVID-19 crisis. Hats off to the for still working through it. Waited in the drive-through line for 20 minutes. Placed my order. Drove to the pickup window and was given my order which was incorrect. After a bit of discussion I got the impression that the employee just wanted me to take the incorrect order. Don't know what's going on with this location. I ordered through the app for just a soda and was waiting 15 minutes in a stall. I wasn't sure what was taking so long, thinking my order didn't go through even though it's on the screen in the stall. I attempt to go inside the restaurant and realized they lock it.
