My kids really love the Grizz milkshake - it's Oreo and cookie dough and they love that it's so super blue. I will say that the price of one scoop of ice cream is pretty steep considering it's not homemade, artisanal ice cream and is Blue Bell ice cream but that's my one "complaint" so far. The main negative that I noticed was the staff not using gloves or washing hands while preparing the orders. In addition, the ice shaver machine is blocked behind a partial wall on the counter so you can't see if that area is clean while they're shaving the ice.

The Gouda grits had a little bit of a kick to them and the crawfish sauce had an amazing flavor which made the whole thing an over the top flavorful dish. My husband ordered the pork chop and wasn't a fan. The pork chop was overcooked and dried out. While overcooked, the chop did have a nice smoked flavor. He quashed he had ordered the redfish because he loved the flavor of my dish, so we shared. He had fries and Mac n cheese with his dish and both were good. We loved the truffle fries dipped in ketchup. Something about the combination just works together. We finished the night off with their yummy bread pudding! I thought it tasted good and was happy to treat it as a knife and fork sandwich. I had the 38-day dry aged prime ribeye- which was offered at a great price for the quality and the treatment of the meat. The center was cooked exactly how I ordered it, but around the outside the meat somehow appeared to be raw while simultaneously having a burnt crust on the outside. I was underwhelmed because even though most of the steak was great the burnt bits turned me off. We had a few desserts, and my favorite was the butter cake. They're definitely worth a try. But there are some downsides. The fried okra, my favorite southern side dish, is actually soft and soggy. No self respecting southerner would ever make soggy fried okra. It's about the worst I ever had. And the onion rings, which are hard to mess up, were burnt black and lacked flavor. They were inedible. The cashier is rude and doesn't have time for "thank you" or small talk or a smile or even giving you your receipt when nobody else is in line to pay their bill. That's just how it is. If you want good catfish, Sling Shot Charlie's will come through. But if you want a southern culinary experience that's enjoyable, there are much better places to have it!
