Such a disappointment, where do I start. We've been anxiously awaiting this place to open since they broke ground. Our Sonic experiences across the US have always been fantastic. This one is the exception to the rule. Since we live close by, we simply walk over. We've been here a number of times now and have seen the same thing over and over. This is to say things have not improved since opening. When you go to the walk up area, there's always a gaggle of employees sitting around doing nothing. They are either on break or off shift but still hanging around. This presents a terrible appearance to the customer. We placed our order and the total that shows at the end of the transaction is not what pops up when you need to present your credit card. I guess you have to wait until your food is delivered, present your credit card then so the employee can go away, scan the card, and then return a second time. This has been the same each time we've been here. Seems like wasted effort. About 50% of the time, the food arrives cold. Of course, you don't want to complain because you would have to wait even longer. The flavors are always good though, even when it is cold. We attempted to request a manager tonight. We were met with an employee that gave us the "What do you expect me to do about it?" spiel. We pointed out that is not the proper response to a customer. By now, all the employees that were sitting around talking were giving us the evil-eye like we were complaining. We were. However, we were offering constructive criticism about the flaws in their operations. The person listening could not care less. read more

Worst sonic I have ever been to.. Next to Renton one.. I've eaten at many sonics... Even ones in the western Washington area. Puyallup , Tacoma.. Have higher standards and care about whom and what they are serving. The Kent one is staffed by kids who dont care and could care less about customer service. Every time my order is wrong. The corn dogs were Harder than rocks.. The burger had so much condiments on it was swimming in the wrapper. I ordered 2 corn dog meals for my kids and a sonic double cheesburger.. 25 min later i received my food. I asked why it took so long and was told if you dont like the time go somewhere else. There was lines of people trying to get to the windows due to wrong orders and they just stood there laughing.. done.. Worst Sonic ever.. And they should fire most of the people there and re hire people whom value their jobs. And understand what customer service is. First time at a Sonic's after seeing the commercial for so long. This place is new in Kent so I expected to be waiting in a long line, and I was not disappointed. But as we started getting closer to the building I noticed there were a ton of workers, but the line was moving ultra slow. And we were there late so there was only drive-thru open. We ordered an Oreo shake and a strawberry banana shake. Severely disappointed, firstly the Oreo shake had tiny pieces of red something that had fibers or thread when pulled apart. The strawberry banana shake had half a banana in it. And I'm talking about a whole half banana that was not blended up. And on top of that the workers were loud as fuck being rowdy and shit, and then taking turns to go behind the dumpster to go smoke pot, definitely not hiding it. The whole parking lot smelled like fucking pot. It makes sense why they couldn't understand what we were ordering, or make it right because they were higher Jesus. I just got back home from Sonic to find half of my order was missing/wrong. I ordered 2 hotdogs, 2 median cheese sticks, tarot tots, a drink, and 2 cinnamon pretzels. When I got home I did not have the hotdogs, the cheese sticks were like rubber, and finally I have salted pretzels. Not happy about the mix up at all. I don't know how to start this.... i NEVER give places reviews, much less bad ones. Keep in mind. I work customer service , I know it's hard! I mean.. some people might even say I'm writing a "too nice" of a review. But like I said , I know what it's like to work in a crazy busy place. Now let's get to what happened tonight. I came here after a church gathering, craving grilled cheese. My boyfriend and I were so hungry we ordered so much food lol. We went into the drive in at 9:26 and pressed the button (yes I know what time I arrived because I needed to get home by a certain time) not long after we ordered our food. Time passes.. we're waiting and it's already been 30 min. I tell my boyfriend to press the button and ask why it's taking so long but we decided to wait a bit more. Finally we press the order button at 10:18 and explain we have been waiting. The lady told me to wait 5 more min. We wait and 15 min goes by. Still nothing. Then the order on the screen says the order is being brought out. We wait 10 min and get nothing so I press the button again and a lady says she will be right out to talk to me. I assume she was the manager , but she explained their milkshake machine was broken. I told her "that's okay, leave that out we will take everything else" in the nicest way possible.. still smiling even though it's been close to 45 min of not getting our food, cuz keep in mind .. I work customer service! I know it's a hard job. Anyways, I see girls coming out with our food and I got excited! Then the manager tells them to go remake our order. I got confused but then she explained they tried to bring out our COLD food which was made when we first ordered it 45 MIN AGO! Unbelievable.. anyways. I gave them one last chance. And I'm glad I did. They brought out our order.. at 10:50 although but at least we got it. And it was free! The food was alright. Originally me and a few of my friends were super excited that there was a Sonics opening up. Now I would rather pick McDonald's lol. We parked and went up to Sonics to get food. The menu thing wasn't working so we had to approach the door to make our order to one of the workers. There are like 5 workers sitting at tables or just around and I'm assuming it's because they're on break so that's fine. But the lady who was taking my order was unprofessional and was swearing with frustration and just had attitude. I understand that Sonics just opened up and it's a stressful thing. But the workers who applied there should know what they're literally signing up for. It's Sonics. Opening up on this side of Washington. It's gonna be packed. Are you seriously surprised? The least any of the workers could do is be polite especially since they working for customer service. When I needed a straw I walked back up to the door. The workers inside didn't mind me cause they were busy which is fine, but the other workers sitting down just staring at me? It does not take a lot of work to be kind enough to just get a straw. Also I didn't even know a person walks around with condiments until someone came up to us about it when we were done eating. Lines are incredibly long even two weeks after "soft opening". Was turned away not once but twice, once was 5min before closing as they said the line was closed 30min before closing. Go back a few days later 40min before closing and AGAIN they said they aren't taking anymore customers that night...so frustrating. Despite everything I have heard about this location serving terrible and raw cooked food I decided to come here for dinner anyways. I pulled in at stall #13 and ordered a number 12 buffalo sauce and a pretzel hot dog. After waiting for 25 minutes I walked up to the restaurant only to find about 10 employees doing nothing at all. So I returned back to my vehicle and hit the button to order again. They asked how they could help me and I asked if they could bring my order out. To which they replied "what did you order?" I repeated to them my order and they said they never received an order....... moral of the story is doooooo not go to Sonic drive in in Kent Washington. Worse service I have ever received. Employees doing nothing so you would think they would be able to make a simple hot dog. I will make sure to tell everyone I know to not buy food and to buy food from AMPM gas station instead. Ordered a meal. Price was over $10 for one meal. Milkshake was literally was filled one inch below the rim of the cup, the fries were cold, old, and tasted like they had been sitting out for a long time, they were hard and gross. The burger was COLD. Also when I asked for change for a $20, they told me I'd have to order something else and it would have to be large sized. I called "Melissa" the manager on duty and not only was she rude instantly, but confirmed that I would have needed to order more food to get change, she explained that it didn't have to be large sized, but would need to be another order and that the shake amount issue was standard procedure, "that's how we are trained to make them." So you are telling me that you are literally TRAINED to rip me off for the money I paid you by purposely giving me a smaller than ordered milkshake? What happens when someone orders a small....? Are you trained to make it a child's size then? NEVER will we eat here again... food is way overpriced for terrible service, rude behavior, cold, old food, and drinks that aren't even close to being full. I took my kids to get a treat after practice for doing a great job. I ordered from the app and checked in. When I pushed the button my name showed up and I told the guy I ordered from the app and wanted to make sure the kids got whipped cream and a cherry cause last night they didn't. In a rude voice he said they all come with it so I don't need to tell him. I explained that last night they didn't. He told me the same thing again. I ok thanks. We waiting literally a hour and when I pushed the button and started to talk he turned it off and started talking the order of someone else. I had to stop a employee and ask why we were still waiting? He couldn't find my order and had to retake it. I kept my cool because I had children in the car. Waited 40 minutes for my order, I had to press the button again to ask where my order was to which they said, "your order isnt on the screen so its probably backed up". Waited another 20 minutes. Keep in mind, people who got there after me were getting their orders before me. So I finally left and went to jack in the box because I was so hungry by that point. I have been to this location maybe 20 times, which is more than I should have. I went tonight, I ordered a medium shake and a medium sonic blast. It was dark, so when she brought my shake and sonic blast, I didn't look and just put them in my cars drink holders. I get home to find they are both only filled up MAYBE 3/4 of the way, I ordered extra oreos mixed in my sonic blast, because they never mix many in there, I get to about the half way mark and NO oreos mixed in the bottom part of my blast, seriously?!?! I called and talked to the Manager named Rachel, she said next time I come in just let them know a medium shake and medium oreo blast is on Rachel. Why would I want to come back when almost every time I go there, something is wrong. I realize younger people work there who probably don't care, but you are going to lose customers if this doesn't change. Completely ridiculous and a waste of money in my opinion. This sonic is awful. It closes early and is not open when the hours say it is open. Time management needs lots of work. Once I pressed the button to order it took over 10 minutes for them to answer me. I ordered 3 simple things such as tots, a milkshake, and a drink. I had waited over 30 minutes and I ended up driving off. There were only 2 other cars there and they all ended up leaving as well. Staff is very poor and I am very hesitant on coming back. First time what a disappointment. Did the drive thru got a #1 with tater tots and 2 corn dogs. I turned left to the left hand turn lane reached in for a tater tot COLD. Then had a corn dog COLD. The burger was COLD with so much mustard it covered my face.
