One year later and no change to my previous reviews except maybe it worse than one-star now? This is, without exaggeration, the worst fast food restaurant I have been to. The food is barely edible which is not a reflection on Sonic, just this location. The service is near non-existent. Look at my previous reviews. At least today someone showed up to work. Lady in front of us was sitting for about 10 minutes, I honestly just thought she was ordering the entire menu, well...she wasn't. We pulled up to the speaker and immediately was told, "one second" waiting about 5 minutes, I said "hello?" Horrible! This business should be closed. I parked at a speaker to order. Press the speaker several times to order, no response. Decided to use the drive thru. Placed order, waited 18 minutes for food. I ordered the BLT which was basically a tomato & lettuce sandwich with a half strip of bacon broke in half. One of the workers seemed to be having some boyfriend time outside while only 2 were working at this location. The rating really needs to be a -5. We stopped here for a quick bite to eat during lunch time. The menu was full of pictures and great choices. It was hard to decide because everything looked so good. The prices were definitely reasonable for combo meals, sides, milkshakes and drinks. What we ordered: Chili cheesy corny combo w/fries & lemonade Bacon Cheeseburger on toast w/onion rings & Cherry limeade Side of mozzarella sticks Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Drove through Sonic and the young man couldn't have been more amazing. They were the only place open besides CookOut and McD. He informed us he was alone and was going to take his time to make the food amazing. We heard him singing . It wasn't too long and he came out with hot perfectly prepared food!! More of a "meh" than an "A-OK" but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Used to come here often when I worked in the area. I stopped by expecting the same quality as usual during a recent road trip. I usually order the coney (sometimes the footlong) with tots and a slush. I was convinced this time to order the grilled chicken wrap. Of course I couldn't say no to tots still. I ordered two wraps, one without tomatoes for my girlfriend. I got both without tomatoes, disappointment #1. Then, the chicken in the wrap was overcooked to the point that it was like it was encased in a layer of plastic. You couldn't bite through the grilled portion on the outside without grinding your teeth together. It was odd because it didn't look overcooked. So to me the wrap was a total loss. At least my girlfriend enjoyed hers. The tots were overcooked without much potato content to speak of. It was like eating just the greasy, crunchy, fried breading off of something deep fried without any of the payoff. It made me feel a bit sick. I give them 3 stars though because I've never been this disappointed coming here in the past. The chili cheese coneys have been delicious and the tots usually not overcooked like this. And who can complain about corndog day here? Prices are standard for fast food but the card readers weren't working on the ordering board. It's hard to tell where the curb begins as you pull up. If your car is too low or long you won't be able to order without getting out of your car. Also a pain. So: meh. I probably won't come back because I'm never around here anymore anyways. read more

Horrible service. The wait is forever and half the time, they don't have all of the menu items. We went a few weeks ago and instead of saying "hello", the person on the speaker simply said "we only have ice cream, nothing else" On top of that, they close at random times. The sign on the window shows the hours, but the lights are out. I don't know what's going on at this Sonic, but at this rate, I'll be surprised if they don't go out of business. I must be insane. Why? Because the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. I keep coming back to the SONIC thinking they can get it right. They can't! I love sonic, but I hate this location. Corporate needs to look into changing the management permanently. You order on the app and you add additional things to a burger. You get the burger and They have taken everything else off and all you have is the additions. If I wanted a burger with nothing but jalapeños and bacon I would've subtracted the lettuce tomato onions and pickles from the app. And, once again, I got a diet cherry limeade where the Sprite was completely missing and it tasted like cherry soda water. Went for dinner on Saturday night and ended up leaving frustrated. Pulled to to Drive In Order Board. Problem is with the guard at the end of the parking space, you can't order from car. You have to get out. Next after you review menu and make your selection, the LED next to the card reader says " Internet Signal Lost" In other words, you can't order. If I could vote less than 1 star, I would. I waited for my food for about 20 minutes to be walked out to me, then over an additional 20 for my correct drink to be brought back out. Wouldn't recommend this location ever. I get times are tough with low staffing, and post Covid.. but I also work at a local chain, and this isn't how you operate. Consistently bad, if there were another sonic closer I would go to it. I ALWAYS order shakes with no whip cream... they ALWAYS put it on the shake anyway... I watch them put -whip on the order, and they put it on anyway... EVERY SINGLE TIME. I arrived at the drive thru around 8:10 PM on Sunday 5/22/22. After a few minutes the associate advised she would be right with me. She came back less then a minute later to take my order. I requested 2 milkshakes only to be advised that the ice cream machine was being cleaned...that was the reason for my visit for 2 milkshakes and a slushy. I said ok thank you then drove off. I parked in a stall and looked up my locations hours as I was curious as to what time this location closed, to my surprise it showed 10:30 PM. So I called to speak to a manager to confirm what time you closed. The associate who answered told me 9:00 PM and I asked so it's normal to start cleaning your ice cream machines at 8:00?? Oh ma'am we close at 8:30. I asked to speak to the manager on duty. I didn't catch her name, but she told me you close at 9:00 and again I asked is it 8:30 or 9:00 and normally clean you machines at 8:00?? She said they were only serving soft drink's and food and they were short staffed (that excuse is getting old) I made it clear how disappointed I was and hung up. I was planning on buying something at your shop. With this economy I would not have expected to be told your machines are being cleaned 1 and 1/2 hours before your closing time. Stopped in for a Sonic Blast with Snickers - we'll let me tell you about this BLAST...it was a BUST! The picture on the menu shows Snickers all the way through the "blast", what you get at the Mooresville location is about a 1/3 of a teaspoon of Snickers crumbs on top of the blast...THATS IT. For that medium medium vanilla ice cream and sprinkle of Snickers I paid $4.90 AND left $1 tip! NEVER AGAIN! What a joke! Tried swinging in for two cokes. Went to the drive thru and waited for a couple minutes with no interaction. Figured it was non operational so I went to the pull in- bay on the right side and you can't reach the menu button on that side. (Why have a flawed design like that?) So I drove to the other side. Hit the button. It flashed for awhile then quit. Hit it again. Flashed for awhile then quit. Got out of the car and asked one of the staff members who was leaving work why it was such a challenge to order. She said there's one person with one headset taking orders for 46 bays. There were only about 6 cars there. Yo- district manager. Do something. This location has 2 stars. That indicates a need for improvement. Fix management. Do something. Anything. If you can't operate properly when the location is not busy at all then you are doing something wrong. Time for an improvement. read more

I used to work at this sonic from 2017-2019. We made sure that the orders were taken within 1 minute of the customer being there. I love this sonic so much, but the service is horrible now. Completely new management, complete new carhops & kitchen staff. As I'm writing this, I am looking at all of the employees in the kitchen standing around while I'm still waiting for my order to be taken. Extremely unimpressed with where this sonic has gone. Update to July 2021. THEY HAVE ONE HEADSET going during rush hour when every employee should be wearing one. If that's the case, come out & manually take the orders & put them in, at least that's what we did when I worked there. The new manager is 20 years old & doesn't know how to run a store. This place completely sucks but yet I still find myself coming back for what reason. Stopped in during a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon & it was pretty hoppin'! I've been here several times & this location has been there for I'd say, 5+ years, so they have a good thing going. Their menu is extensive, they have something for everyone. On my normal visits, I go between the BLT Toaster sandwich & the Bacon Cheeseburger toaster & tots or onion rings. Sunday, I had the BLT & onion rings, along with a cherry limeade. I waited only a couple of minutes for my food to arrive. The onion rings were rather crispy, I only ate a few. The BLT was loaded with lettuce & only had two small tomatoes, & a couple of pieces of bacon. The bread was lightly toasted, but wasn't really toasted - it was really soft. Now, the cherry limeade was divine! I probably could have had another one of those. I very well could have had an off day. But the pluses were, friendly, fast service & a clean parking lot. read more

The sweet potato bites are DELICIOUS! I will be a fan and stop by Sonic whenever I see one. They cost a good penny, but are worth every cent! The other food was good too but cannot compare to my sweet potato bites! The ordering process is great but the menu and buttons are too close to the front curb making it difficult to reach and get your food. The menu is varied so everyone in your party can pretty much come away with something they want to eat including chicken breast options. That is a definitely plus! read more
