Food was good but portions were kind of small. Got everything in order right and fairly quick! Did not go inside, only drive thru.

Oof, really should have read the reviews for this place before coming here. They weren't subtle foreshadowing, they were accurate descriptions of this establishment. Like 100% accurate. With the day being extremely hot out, and after spending the day in the sun, we wanted a refreshment to rehydrate. My sister has the app and was going to order ahead of time, that way when we got there, we could just pick it up and go. But the app kept saying everything we wanted to order was not available. We decided to take the risk and come here to order in person. How other reviewers state that you can't pull up to one of those stalls is correct. There are vehicles parked at some of those, but they appear to be the employees inside working. Which forces everyone into the drive thru and right into a chock hold. When you get to the pull up menu to order, you are basically told to wait and wait you do. Never mind the fact that you are now stuck, you can't back out, you can't move forward, you are just stuck. Then they come on and you start the ordering. This takes a lot of time. You can't just rattle off what you want, they literally make you go slow at ordering. You think that after ordering it will go a bit quicker, it doesn't. You sit and wait some more. Thank god for air conditioning in vehicles. If this is a faucet, the line is a trickle or even a drip. When we finally got our drinks, the order was at least correct. But they should be upfront about this place. Let people know that you don't honor the app, that you don't serve the stalls, that you will wait for nearly a half hour to complete the transaction. Save yourself, don't come here. read more

Other | $1-10 If I could give this 0 starts I would. I ordered a lemonade slushie and got strawberries added to it. Well upon receiving my drink, I noticed it had a weird taste. I got back to the place we are staying for vacation, poured it out and saw that it had CHUNKS of hamburger meat. Highly disappointed and disgusted. The store isn't responding and the sonic customer service is not taking this seriously. Please avoid this location and even other sonic's at this rate. read more

We stayed at a nearby beach house and thought this would be an easy dinner for our last night. We tried to order online, but when we went to pay, everything said it was unavailable but the drinks. Courteous employees, but 40 minute wait for food. The drive in screens didn't work, so the drive thru was the only option. I wouldn't commit to the drive thru line unless you can confirm that it's swiftly moving. Your car can get stuck in line and you can't easily drive away because of how it is configured (medians on both sides; cars to the front & back). read more

We walked after the beach to get ice cream and we walked up the the drive pull up station, took 20 minutes and did not answer at all. we tried walking though the drive-through and walked up to the speaker. Bottom Line: Greasy, heavily processed fast food and slow service. My biggest gripe with this Sonic is the slow service which seems to be an issue regardless if you do the drive through or the car hop station. Also unappealing is a handmade out of order sign slapped on the broken menu board. On the upside, I like that they serve their fountain sodas in styrofoam cups. read more

I went through the drive thru and asked if they could fill up my own cup with ice. They charged me $1.35 for ice. I have never been charged at any Sonic for ice. I didn't even ask for a cup. I am not sure how this place still is here. I'm a local, this place has tons of potential. Someone needs to do something. read more

This sonic was good like 7 years ago maybe, but now they're just terrible. Can't order at the drive in, so no carhop. Drive-through is open if you have 30 minutes to wait to order. Oh and make sure you get your order read back to you before you pay. Great shakes though! read more

Omg! You guys! I have been by there three times since May 1st just praying for a corn dog and Sundrop and I can't even get thru the drive thru! Last time the guy inside told me it would be a thirty minute wait BEFORE YOU COULD EVEN TAKE MY ORDER! One time no one responded to me at all so I eventually drove off and another time I was told there wasn't any outdoor car service. Outdoor car service is all you have! Lost my Sonic-virginity here! For years and years I've been tortured by their commercials and have overcome so much pain of the aftermath of my mouth watering and no delicious tater-tots and icy cold drinks to satisfy it! We do have them in Calfornia- but I just don't like driving! So on a trip in North Carolina/OBX this summer, my dad introduced me to this amazement! I know that the locals and people used to Sonic's wouldn't necessarily rave much about it, in fact they don't think it's that great- oh but I do! Let me say that.... pretty much everything that could go wrong did...but I wasn't letting it get to me. The machines in the parking lot were ALL out of order...the machine in the outside patio was out of order and incapable of processing debit/credit cards, the employees also could not take anything but cash (WTF!!) and then the guy got our order wrong twice and we ended up having to pay again to add on what they missed. The only reason they aren't getting 2 stars (like they should) is because the food was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just what I expected- I couldn't get enough- from the Chili tater-tots, to the chill fries, the Frito chili dog, the malts, the iced drinks- my God!! so Delicious! It's very nostalgic to me to have a delicious all American meal. I really hope Sonic's is always in business on account of how good their food is. (them and Weinerschnitzel need to live on forever!) Negative stars would be more accurate. During our visit we waited at the park and order hit the button twice no response.... so we pulled into the drive thru behind two other cars. We waited in line for 30 minutes. When at the window we started our large order to be informed they had no ice cream at all. When we get to the window we are greeted by Jennifer who states that they are short staffed and that there is nothing they can do.
