This was my first visit here so I wasn't sure what to expect. First, we had a hard time ordering. It seems like the person taking our order couldn't understand our simplest of requests. It was a bacon cheeseburger as is, no condiments. He responded that it comes with ketchup and mustard. We asked again to have it plain, no condiments. After about the 3rd try he understood. We ordered other food. The food came out with ketchup on the burger so we called back in to explain. He sounded confused. All we want is a burger with cheese and bacon, nothing else. They bring out 4 of them and try to charge us $17 more. We explained it to the girl that you made a mistake on the order and we want the burger replaced, we are not buying more burgers. She comes back with one burger and says we owe more money. My wife then explains for the 3rd time that THEY, not us made a mistake on our order and we want it replaced but we shouldn't have to pay more for it. She gets the manager. This is the same guy who couldn't understand us in the first place. By the time we got him to u fees tans the mistake they made, our food is now cold, much like the drinks. The chicken tenders were mediocre at best, the Texas toast was horrible, why would you even put this in a meal? The only thing we enjoyed was our drinks and the tots. Deserves zero stars! Try sitting in the car at a drive up Bay for 20 minutes with a hungry 5 year-old. It was awful!!! I have eaten at Sonics in multiple states. This service was by far the worst ever! The light kept blinking and blinking. I never once saw a car hop. If they want to be a walk-in restaurant, don't have bays with menus and buttons to get service. My 5 year old wants me to tell everyone that "this place is stupid." read more

I love sonic. Been to this location a few times and its usually pleasant. My review this time is mostly cause of the awful person who took our order. After everything I ordered he said 'yup' over and over again. Didn't ask what size we wanted our drinks so even though I made a point to say rt 44 we still got mediums. He also cut the mike before I could finish. The kid who delivered them was really awesome though. Went back and got the right sizes and didn't charge us anymore. And lastly when I went back inside to order something else we overheard half the store employees talking about how they were about to go smoke weed. Thanks so much to the kid who helped! Went to Sonic with my sister, and decided to wait in the car hop area, nobody came, after a few minutes a girl came over with a food order and asked us if this was our order, clearly it wasn't since we didn't order yet, she was confused as to who ordered the food and went back inside, went thru the drive thru, ordered a small coke instead of a meduim and the young girl at the window was rude about it, and they ran out of mustard, had no mustard in the whole place! and they serve hot dogs! food was okay, but for two small cokes, two hot dogs, one tater tots, and two ice cream shakes the bill came to $18.00. I doubt we will be coming back again, the staff they have now is incompetent. read more

For the third time in a row, I've waited in line for almost 30 minutes and when I get to the speaker, either the computers are down for the shake machine is broken or something why they can't take my order. When I can get some food, the wait time is usually at least 20 minutes. 1 star. read more

I have been waiting in the drive through for 30 minutes on a Sunday night to get a couple drinks. Their food isn't terrible but the prices aren't good at all compared to other fast food places. Their drinks are great but only when they are half price at happy hour. If they were a bit faster and their prices were competitive, I would toss in another star. read more

Ordered a #3 combo which never arrived after over 45 minutes. The employees were rude about this, made excuses, etc. I was told "there are only 3 people in the kitchen", yet I saw two different cars full of people pull up in the spot next to mine, order, eat, and leave. The staff refused to refund my money, pointing to a sign on the counter which was NOT visible from my vehicle. They seemed to think the presence of this sign exempts them from both morals and law, and had no qualms stealing my money. Disgusting food! Cannot recommend; in fact, stay far far away. Every food item was 'off' - i.e. bland, too salty, too sweet, too sour, etc. and in all the wrong places. The cheese fries were bland and the cheese looked and tasted like Velveeta; my fish sandwich was overly-breaded and came w/o cheese (even though I ordered it, but that turned out for the best - see 'cheese fries'), my husband said his cheeseburger was dry, the onion rings were also overly-breaded and tasted sweet (but NOT from the onion part of the ring) and the limeade chiller w/lime was a poor excuse for a beverage. Giving it 1 star for the American Graffiti-like atmosphere but the food, if one can call it food, was horrible. Won't be going back and won't recommend it. Sorry Sonic! read more

Have never been to Sonic before and wont make the effort to go back. The shake was great, however the fries were typical fast food fries, nothing special. Service was terrible. I ordered the grilled chicken and a side of fries, how bad could it be? I had three bites of the sandwich and tossed it. It had a weird consistency and flavor. The onion rings had flavor, just not like onion. More like old oil and saturated fat. I ate a few and tossed them. For $10 it was awful. read more

Jeez! I wish I'd read these reviews before my visit here today. It would have saved me nearly $60 and a horrible meal and experience. We visited the beautiful Breakheart reservation and my husband insisted we stop here "for the experience." Ordered for myself, my husband & our 3 kids with the app which was weird to use (maybe because it was my first time.) I sadly ended up ordering all 3 kids medium milkshakes at nearly $7 a pop! Hot dogs were the most decent of all that we ordered. Husband says his double bacon burger was very tough and he wasted part of it. Fries & taters were cold when we got them...but I have had bad meals before. I was compelled to write this review because if the AWFUL customer service I received (comforting to see it wasn't an isolated incident.) I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and was brought a crispy, fried one to the car. I pressed the button and nicely explained to some old hag that my sandwich was wrong and she was very short tempered and rude about it. After telling me that she can't hear me and then saying "well you had 2 chicken sandwiches..one was fried right?" Irrelevant and the other was a chicken slinger for the record. She then tells me she is sending someone out to collect the wrong sandwich...okayyy....? Did she not believe me?? Maybe the person will have my correct sandwich in hand...NOPE! Some girl comes out to take the wrong sandwich away and 9 MINUTES later I am forced to press the red button again because my kids and husband finished their food and we were ready to leave. The girl on the speaker had an attitude like she had no idea what my order was and checked with someone else..so my ice cold, dry chicken sandwich was delivered to the car promptly. Not one "I'm sorry" either. Most places are apologetic and customer service oriented..not Sonic! I mean who even collects a wrong order to just toss it in the trash? Every time I stop at Sonic I experience two things: 1) they take forever, whether it is through the drive through or the carhops. Minimum wait is 25 minutes. 2) They ALWAYS screw up the order!!! They either forget something or put the wrong order in. The management obviously does not care so, everytime they do something wrong, I call them on it. They apologize and then give me an " on us" card which pays for the next meal. The funny part is that they continue to flub up the orders and I continue to get free meals. I guess the manager does not care, nor upper management, so neither do I. The food was good in the beginning, but no longer any better or just slightly better than a MacDonalds (at least they are faster). Not impressed! read more

Don't know what I was expecting, but I get too excited by tater tots. i tried the Chili Cheese tOTs and it was a very disapointing experience - Globs of hard cheese, fake chili and cold tots. UCK! Popcorn chicken wasn't very good either and they didn't offer sauces, just brought ranch. The Bf''s BLT looked okay, but didn't get rave reviews and the poppers were just nasty. I love this Sonic. I waited in the original ridiculous line to get in and I've been back a few times since then. It's pretty much the same as the other Sonic's I've been too and they are very good about making new drinks when you definitely order the wrong one (according to your SO...). It's going to be busy as people have mentioned but the food comes out pretty fast. I love the grilled cheese on the thick bread and cheese tots. And Route 44 Diet Cherry Limeaids, yummm!! I stopped by Sonic while on a road trip. I pulled up and ordered the chicken strip sandwich and a coney with chili and cheese. The chicken strip sandwich wasn't great but the chili fake cheese coney was pretty good for fast food. My friend's tater tots were not good, they weren't even hot. The cherry limeade was pretty good though. I would go back to try some other items as this was my first time at Sonic but I wouldn't specifically drive out here. The rush/lines have died down since it first opened so it doesn't take very long to get in and out of here. read more

my first time there, we parked and went to the picnic area to order. i got the blue coconut slush, grilled cheese, ched r poppers (jalapeno poppers), and regular tots. -blue coconut slush was good -grilled cheese was ok, could have been more cheesy for the huge amount of bread that it came on and it could have been toasted more, it was more like buttery toast. -Ched R Poppers were AWESOME.... yummmmm -tots were good, typical. my fiend had the sweet potato tots and those were really good. the rest of my friends had hot dogs and burgers and totally chowed down and loved them. manager came out to see how our experience was and gave us all free drink tickets which was really cool and nice to get some personal attention, but we were so hungry she could have said we won a billion dollars and wouldnt have even cared cause all we wanted to do was eat. Worst fast food restaurant I've ever been to. Thought it would be fun to try for the drive-thru. No one took our order after multiple tries, so eventually we went inside. Found a DMV-style waiting room full if angry customers and indifferent staff screwing up orders. Food took 15 minutes to come out. I could get actual good food at a real restaurant in that much time. Was this the best fast food burger I ever had, or was it just because I was ravenous from waiting for an hour and a half for it?!?!? The line was insanely long, like everyone else has mentioned. The speaker ordering system was cumbersome. They didn't seem to hear us very well. I didn't like how there wasn't any indoor seating. I don't like eating in the car, which come winter will be the only option unless you live close enough to take your food home. I think the fact that there's no indoor seating is really ill thought out. I can't imagine wanting to eat in my car when it's 20 degrees out and having to leave the car running to keep warm. (Alternatively, I wouldn't want to eat in my car or on the patio when it's 90 degrees out with a 75 dew point like it was a few weeks ago) I really liked my tater tots, and I gobbled my burger up, but like I said, that might have just been because I was SO SO HUNGRY. I might have to go back and reassess the burger situation. My husband said his burger was not very warm. The unsweetened iced tea was really good. The teenagers working the drive-through looked more like they were goofing off versus working. That would probably explain why they neglected to give us napkins and BBQ sauce for the popcorn chicken my friend ordered. I'd go back if we're in the area and if there isn't such a long line!
