I have never had such bad service. It took them 10 minutes to understand what we were trying to order - 2 hamburgers, a cheeseburger, a pretzel twist, and 4 drinks. When it came out, all of our orders were slightly wrong. When I tried to ask for additional items, we were completely ignored and they turned the lights off. Someone next to us who had been waiting for 30 minutes finally banged on the door to get a manager. It looked like several employees were smoking in a car and not working at all. The only reason why i'm giving this place two stars is because the food was alright. I saw someone posted a review 30 mins before I got there about them not having onion rings , they did when I got there. However ... Our visit was the worst one ever. First off they only have signs on the front booths saying that they are currently closed . When we first got there we waited and pressed the button on one of the booths , after waiting about 10 -15 mins we decided to go through the drive thru. On our way to the drive thru we noticed the front booths said " Booths are currently closed . " Should've said something over the speaker , especially since we were right in the front of the pickup window for the food. We waited about 30 mins before finally getting to order our food ! So get this , After we finally had our food the line for the drive thru was so long that we couldn't get out . The exit was blocked by the people waiting to order ! Please don't patronize this restaurant and definitely don't work here if you live in Salida. My son worked here last summer and this summer. He had an accident in June where he slammed his head into a rack and had to go the Salida ER. This Sonic didn't fill out an incident report and now their corporate office won't acknowledge it either. We've called and sent multiple emails to several levels of their local management and no response. The hospital wants their money but this Sonic won't even call us back. The hospital bill isn't even that large relatively speaking but still about 70 hours of work at $15 per hour. Thirty minutes at the drive thru here is not uncommon. If there is more than one car in line you would save time by driving to an actual restaurant and getting food served to your table. Gross. Came here for drive through and food was undercooked and not made well. They poured a bunch of mustard on a partially raw undercooked burger that was supposed to have Mayo. They won't give happy hour prices if you order other drinks besides the ones on happy hour prices and then when you say something, they get snippy and rude. This Sonic has been a staple for a long time for good ice cream and fresh, good food. The wait has always been really long but it was worth the wait...until recently. I have stopped ordering Blasts there because there would be candy in the top 25% and the lower 75% would be pure ice cream. I tried a couple of times to order but the last 4 or 5 have been like this so no longer do I order this. I think they have a really hard time getting consistent help so some of it is going to be hit-or-miss so they get a little grace. I LOVE Sonic burgers & extras! Usually so good, but this particular Sonic drive through is not very good at all. We even took a picture of our hamburgers we got there once, it was this HUGE bun, with the ugliest tomato I've ever seen & some wilted lettuce & a hockey puck size patty. It tasted as good as it looked. We don't go there a lot because its far away from us, but when we do go, we hope its going to get better like the other Sonics we've been to, but so far, no go!
