Went here on April 23rd 2022, and to all who are reading reviews, stay away from this location unless you want an upset stomach, diarrhea, poor service, unsanitary bathrooms (no t.p. forced to use paper towels for cleaning oneself) and food quality that is below any standard of safe food practices. I think I've only been able to order food here once, and they didn't have ice cream to add to the cream slush. Another time, their power was out so they had to turn everyone away. The past few times I've gone, I've had to back out of the drive through because it takes 5-10 minutes a car. There were about five cars in front of me and I didn't have an hour to place an order at a FAST food place. read more

No proper mask usage, one employee had theirs below the nose and the other didn't even go that far, it was below his mouth on his chin. The one working the drive through had visibly dirty hands, and there is no plexiglass to protect customer in drive through from these massless workers. Definitely will not be back. read more

Was very hopeful. Looks very nice from outside. Went through drive through after a day of skiing at Monarch. There were 5 cars in front of us in the drive through. We waited 20+ min. In the drive through... At a fast food place. I guess this was our bad. Should have known to keep driving to the closest big city. What makes it worse... Placed order at 4:30 for pick up at 4:45. Arrived at 4:42. Waited until 5:05 to call store and ask what's going on. They tell me they are about to bring it out, but are out of the fruit I wanted In my drinks. ?? So I improvise and reorder. Only to get 2 different drinks with no fruit that I was charged extra for and waited for 25 minutes watching multiple vehicles go through the drive thru. Ridiculous. read more

I have never had such bad service. It took them 10 minutes to understand what we were trying to order - 2 hamburgers, a cheeseburger, a pretzel twist, and 4 drinks. When it came out, all of our orders were slightly wrong. When I tried to ask for additional items, we were completely ignored and they turned the lights off. Someone next to us who had been waiting for 30 minutes finally banged on the door to get a manager. It looked like several employees were smoking in a car and not working at all. They close at 9, but they began ignoring every car that drove up at 8:30. Avoid this place like the plague if you actually want service. It's the worst place I've ever been to. read more

The only reason why i'm giving this place two stars is because the food was alright. I saw someone posted a review 30 mins before I got there about them not having onion rings , they did when I got there. However ... Our visit was the worst one ever. First off they only have signs on the front booths saying that they are currently closed . When we first got there we waited and pressed the button on one of the booths , after waiting about 10 -15 mins we decided to go through the drive thru. On our way to the drive thru we noticed the front booths said " Booths are currently closed . " Should've said something over the speaker , especially since we were right in the front of the pickup window for the food. We waited about 30 mins before finally getting to order our food ! So get this , After we finally had our food the line for the drive thru was so long that we couldn't get out . The exit was blocked by the people waiting to order ! This place is excellent if you have 3 hours to spare to wait for your food. They won't come to the intercom to let you know they're working on it either. I don't blame the employees. It seems as though they are understaffed. I have no idea how they get so much clientele. read more

Please don't patronize this restaurant and definitely don't work here if you live in Salida. My son worked here last summer and this summer. He had an accident in June where he slammed his head into a rack and had to go the Salida ER. This Sonic didn't fill out an incident report and now their corporate office won't acknowledge it either. We've called and sent multiple emails to several levels of their local management and no response. The hospital wants their money but this Sonic won't even call us back. The hospital bill isn't even that large relatively speaking but still about 70 hours of work at $15 per hour. What kind of business cheats kids out of money in a small mountain town where you can barely get anyone to work in the first place? read more

The worst sonic in the country. The drive thru window is a germaphobes worst nightmare. The window has caked on food that has spilled, it looks sticky and objectively gross. This place on the inside is absolutely disgusting and filthy. We went through the drive thru which was apparently broken. The person at the window said oh well it's broken. Then about 3 of the workers were just standing in there eating and talking while people are lining up at the drive thru. No one bothering to tell them not to wait there. Thirty minutes at the drive thru here is not uncommon. If there is more than one car in line you would save time by driving to an actual restaurant and getting food served to your table. I have to assume it is poor management or a cheap owner unwilling to pay for proper staffing. If you are in a hurry grab a snack at the gas station or Walmart instead. read more

Absolutely the worst and mismanaged fast food I have ever been too. We waited in the drive thru for 30 minutes because they are so slow and inefficient and to be told there ice cream machine was broke, I told them it would have been nice to put a sign out that lets people know instead of making people wait to find out when you order and then told extremely rude have a nice day. Gross. Came here for drive through and food was undercooked and not made well. They poured a bunch of mustard on a partially raw undercooked burger that was supposed to have Mayo. They shorted us an order of fries and the tater tots were cold and stale a pale yellow color hadn't been cooked all the way and sitting out awhile like hours. When we brought back the nasty food for a refund we were yelled at and argued with by some guy with a moustache telling me that if I'm going to be difficult I don't need to come back. Lol and I said yes I won't be back for sure, then he yelled at me telling me to get out of here as I drove away it was totally uncalled for and he really lost his temper. If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. Overcharging is a norm here. They won't give happy hour prices if you order other drinks besides the ones on happy hour prices and then when you say something, they get snippy and rude. The wait is terrible usually and so many times we have got the wrong drinks. Last night I came here sat in the drive thru for 40 minutes. Once I got up to the window we got 2/3 drinks the last drink took about another 10 minutes. Then we got our food with no recipe. Today thinking maybe I'd get some drinks again so I went to a stall this time. We cycled the call button 3 times and finally left. This Sonic has been a staple for a long time for good ice cream and fresh, good food. The wait has always been really long but it was worth the wait...until recently. I have stopped ordering Blasts there because there would be candy in the top 25% and the lower 75% would be pure ice cream. I tried a couple of times to order but the last 4 or 5 have been like this so no longer do I order this. I think they have a really hard time getting consistent help so some of it is going to be hit-or-miss so they get a little grace.
