I have NEVER waited/wasted so much time in a drive thru. The time it took to get a burger, mozzarella sticks and a diet coke was embarrassingly long, despite the fact that there were at least 4-5 employees working there. Not sure what any of them were really doing, as it took well over a half an hour. Watched the staff bumble and fumble around, busting holes in the bottoms of cups as the people in line ahead of me waited a half an hour for a shake/mixer or whatever because the girl blending it busted holes in the bottom at least twice.. There was one guy randomly standing around and staring at his coworkers, and eventually he refilled the cups that didn't really need refilling, but hey, at least he was doing something, right? It was almost slapstick comedy.. Not what I want when I just wanted a quick bite. read more

I stopped by this Sonic after Cedar Point, and have never been to one before. I went with 2 other friends. We ordered 3 milkshakes: oreo cheesecake, hot fudge, and caramel pretzel, and a small order of onion rings. The cashier had to ask a manager how to punch the caramel pretzel shake into the register. 20 minutes after placing our order, a woman came out and told us that they were out of onion rings, so we switched to mozzarella sticks. When our shakes came out another 20 minutes later, we were given 2 oreo cheesecake shakes, and one chocolate. Even after the cashier had to ask how to punch in our order, they still messed up 2/3 of or milkshakes after taking 40 minutes. Not to mention that the oreo cheesecake milkshake tasted terrible. It was way too sweet and had little to no oreo in it. I was very disappointed and will never go to a Sonic again. read more

Went to this Sonic after leaving Cedar Point for Hallow weekend. Had my heart set on a quick meal and great shake to get on the road back to Detroit but unfortunately we ran into some issues with this horrific establishment. This has put such a sour taste in our mouths, that we can't believe that we treated so poorly. My boyfriend and I went to sonic October 15,2016 @11:45, there weren't many ppl in the drive-in stalls and one vehicle in the drive-thru a few customers eating outside at the front it wasn't busy what so ever. The car in front was taking to long so we pulled up into a drive-in stall and we pushed the red button for service, we sat there for a moment or two and know one answered, so we moved to a different stall and pushed the button. Still No ANSWER, my boyfriend thinks that they are broken and gets out to place our order. In less than 2 minutes everything went wrong. A huge argument took place between my boyfriend and an employee. My boyfriend asked the employee was there a problem with the buzzers because know one was answering. The boy respond by crusing and using lude language with my boyfriend. He told us "it's only 4 of us, Sh@t you don't like it you can f#@&ing leave." There was a huge exchange of words. We pulled out and the boy continued yelling at us and threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. He continued to yell at us using racial slurs. All this because your a very frustrated and miserable being. I did email there cooperate office and received a email next morning and a call from the GM, she apologize and ask for me return again. I proceeded to inform her I wouldn't be back that way until next year. She offered me ice cream and shake next year. No, this issue happened yesterday and that's what you think is appropriate. NO AND No thank you. I called Sonic that Monday and informed them they have lost my business. All should know, this location is horrible and and should be avoided. So saying all of this I didn't eat on the ride back to Detroit and I'll never patronize a Sonic again. read more

Terrible service. Ordered three drinks in the Carhop and waited nearly 40 mins. When we pushed the button to ask about it they took their sweet time to reply. When we did get a response it was rude. We were told the guy who makes drinks was on break. Seriously????? Asked for a refund and that took forever too. read more

Probably one of the worse 'fast' food joints in town. Their service is subsonic to say the least and it will probably be cold when you get it. I've always heard rumors about how bad it was, but I guess I had to be disappointed first hand. Philly cheesesteak is my one guilty pleasure. However, I need at least a half hour to allow them to prepare my food. read more

Left the water park and decided to give sonic a try for the first time...terrible mistake. 30 mins and $40 later (for a family of 4) we got our order, which was wrong. Also we had no napkins, no fork for our wings and just crappy overall service. The guy working the drive thru didn't speak but 2 words to us and the whole experience was pathetic. Horrible...I don't recommend this mess to anyone. They need to get it together. How hard can it be? We went here with about 8 of us in a van and all ordered shakes. About 25 minutes later they walk it out to us and had no idea what shake was what. So the guy walked back in and came out with someone else and they still had no idea. He just then proceeds to starting handing is the shakes, while he was doing that he goes,"whoever got Reece's, we're out of Reece's". You gotta be kidding me. First off, I have to say the vanilla shake was quite good. Thick and rich, with just the right amount of whipped cream and a single cherry. Had that been all that I ordered, this review would be a solid 4 stars. However, I also ordered food, and they lost a star for each item. The chicken nuggets were tough and chewy, the fries were hard as a rock, and the corn dog was ridiculously overdone. Seriously, how do you screw up a corn dog that badly? I've loved corn dogs for 45 years, even the cheap ones you get at the grocery store and microwave because you're too impatient to bake or fry them. But Sonic has seemingly accomplished the impossible, they have rendered a corn dog so inedible I actually threw half of it away. One bite was bad, but after the second I could bear no more. I shed a tear for my shattered childhood dreams as it slowly descended into the trash. I can still hear my mother telling me that children are starving in China, and I should finish my dinner. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't told her of this, and will likely take this dreaded emotional embarrassment to my grave. Alas, poor Sonic, your terrible food has made me lie to my mother, and I'll never forgive you. read more

I'm always seeing Sonic ads on TV, but the closest one is 55 minutes from home. So we made a family trip to Sandusky. Happy to find one. That didn't last long, the food was good. But the service was poor. Thay messed up the order. So not all the food came at the same time. Had to call them back out for more food they didn't give us. And again for even more a 2nd time. By the 3rd time, we gave up. We were over charged $15 and still short food that we ordered and had lots of food that we didn't order. When the order was read back to me, it was completely correct. However, what we were charged for and received was not what we ordered. I called to complain and was told it was my fault by the manager. The Resort food wood have cost me less and they are definitely more professional. The manager was very rude and told me I didn't know what I was talking about because I wasn't a restaurant manager. read more

I sat and read the reviews and still decided to go... I ordered a 5pc Tender and tots with a powerade slushie... for one the wait was about 15 minutes to get my food through the drive thru ( which I usually don't have a problem with long waits as long as the food is up to par) I got my food straight handed to me. No bag, nothing. Forgot a straw... i open the box and it had two burnt toast in it .. funny thing the toast was soft and saggy yet burnt. The irony. Then i got one onion ring, again burnt yet soft and soggy.. with tots and chicken all together. The tots were fine. Tasted fine... but were cold/warm if that makes sense.. the chicken is advertised as CRUNCHY. It was the most soggiest chicken imaginable. I ate all the tots and ONE tender. Threw everything else away. Waste of 9$... the powerade was great.. but should be as that is the only thing they made on the spot the rest seemed to be hanging out for HOURS then just simply reheated. So if you like your food semi warm and soggy and hella burnt.. this is a place for you. OTHERWISE listen to the reviews unlike I did and go elsewhere! read more

Worst customer service in the drive thru yesterday. There was 1 vehicle ahead of me and I ordered just drinks. Waited 10 minutes to get to the window where I waited more just for the girl to acknowledge me. No greeting, just took my money. Waited for her to come back with change and asked for comment card or how to write a review and was given the manager. She was even worse. Came to the window with "what do you need" and I expressed my dissatisfaction and her reply was "what are you missing" and I said everything. The point being that I ordered 3 drinks with only one person ahead of me and it's taking more than 10 minutes. She essentially shrugged her shoulders and said she's short staffed today. No apology, no understanding, no attempt to make it right. Asked who was above her and she said "I'm general and my name 's ---" and shut the window. So rude! Her employee opened the window, passed out 3 drinks - no carrier, no straws, and walked away. I regret not requesting my money back and leaving. Will not go back and will not recommend to others. I'd put no stars if I could. This place is going down hill and had the absolute worst experience tonight. It was so slow and no one was taking orders. The guy in the truck in front of me had to yell at them and he had one car ahead of him. The floors were covered in trash and food inside that you could see from the drive thru window. Took forever to get napkins we requested to clean up a spill. The milkshake was melted. We asked for the manager who then voided the charge. Usually I love sonic but this time made me question my faith in them. Food was stale and cold, and when the server brought out the sonic splashes that we ordered, he asked if we wanted anything else before he even gave them to us. DO NOT COME HERE FOR ANYTHING!!! I read all the bad reviews and I thought maybe it was just because people only leave a review if they had a bad experience, but I was wrong. First of all, we ordered four master blasts and two drinks. It took an HOUR to get it, and they were not busy at all. Then when they finally arrived, the kid who had the food started off by saying "don't kill me" and then just awkwardly sat there looking at us. We weren't being rude so we told him it was no big deal. He then preceded to keep apologizing and telling us not to kill him. He held on to our food like we didn't want it and I finally was just like "is that our food?" And he said yes, but continued to hold on to it and stare at us awkwardly. I literally had To grab it out of his hands, while he precededly tried to pull it away like he thought it was funny. Finally after getting the food, he gave me a handful of straws and told me "this isn't McDonalds, we don't have spoons" "seriously, I checked" if you've ever eaten a master blast at sonic you would know that it's literally thick ice cream with chunks of whatever you ordered. There's no possible way you could eat it with a straw. We ended up going across the street to the shell station, where the cashier kindly gave us some sporks from her own employee break room, and told us we were the fifth people to come there looking for spoons that day. I don't blame the kid working there I blame the management. This is a major case of either not training your workforce enough, or not staffing the right people to do certain jobs. There was ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS HERE. Save yourself a headache and an hour and just go to mcdonalds or something. Came here with wife and kids while on vacation in Sandusky visiting Cedar Point. I should have heeded the bad Yelp reviews and gone elsewhere. After placing the order which took a while due to a speaker that was hard to hear out of, we had to wait for at least 20 minutes for our order to come out. I really wanted to take it out on our server but it appeared that she was the only one working to get the orders out to everybody. By the time we finally did get our food, it was barely warm. If there's one thing that I absolutely hate, it's food that's supposed to be hot and isn't! The only reason that I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 is that despite all the negatives, they actually got the order right! Too bad it they weren't more expedient in the delivery. Did I mention that we realized after we had began eating and had our hands all full of various sauces and condiments, we weren't given any napkins? Luckily I had some wipes in the glove box and we resorted to using them as napkins. Yes, we did request they bring us some but they never brought them out. I can only imagine this being owned by someone who has lots of money and needed to invest in a tax shelter and doesn't care if it makes a profit. How can anyone buy a franchise such as this and allow it to be ran like this and pay such overhead? I love SONIC but not this one, the food is sub par and service is lacking. When I want a Sonic meal I go to the one by Bass Pro in Toledo or wait until I'm traveling south to TN and get their product there. Look at the previous reviews, this place has issues. read more

First time at Sonic and afraid it will be my last. We were staying at a local hotel to go to Cedar Point the next day and we were all craving milk shakes. Went there close to 9pm and tried to go through the drive thru but they said that their drive thru machine was broken and to place our order at one of the parking spot ordering stations. We saw many vehicles going through after us and picking up their orders at the drive thru window (1st red flag). After waiting 10 minutes someone finally came on the mic to ask us for our order (2nd red flag). We placed our order for 4 milkshakes (nothing hard to make or whip up in a few minutes). Waited another 20 minutes before our order finally showed up (3rd red flag). We was tempted to go across to walmart and pickup some ice cream to take back to the hotel room, which we now regret not doing, cause 3 out of the 4 people ended up sick from the nasty milkshakes and not one person finished half of their cup. Never again will I go to this location... 8 thumbs down for Sonic!!! read more
