Our motorcycle group was a bit on a timed schedule. With the Arco gas station next door (our final gas stop)- I wanted to find a food joint that was convenient, provided outdoor seating WITH shade (mid summer) in the blistering sun, and have ample parking to have a clear view of our bikes and our personal baggage visible to us. I had no idea restrooms were available til after we placed our orders at the walk up kiosks in the patio area. I figured this Sonic location was ideal since the gas station was next door and we could use those, just in case. While placing our orders on the touch screen monitor- I noticed it wasn't our order on the screen- but, our friends on the opposite side. LOL. But, when other friend placed hers on the monitor we used- it worked like usual. Because of the hiccup we had- we were able to submit our orders and the employee used a hand held payment machine. It's been forever (like 10 years) since I've ordered Sonic. But, the first time opting for the outdoor patio. The Groovy Fries are a must (crinkle cut fries are nostalgic); mozzarella sticks are as expected- and a lil bacon cheeseburger hits the spot. Wasn't in the mood for their syrup flavored drinks and opted for a very cold bottled water to use my Liquid IV. Service is swift. Great location to Looky Lou and clean restrooms. read more

We ordered the #1 combo + tots. Recommend getting the groovy sauce! Apparently there are 6 different sauces to choose from. Sooooo tasty and consistently delish! The restaurant is clean and the parking lot is open to park and eat if you'd like. The past 3 years going to Coachella and staying in Joshua Tree/Yucca Valley, we start our morning with Sonics! The service was excellent and fast. There were restrooms on the side of the building so that was pretty convenient for it being an only Drive-in. The food was tasty, I would highly suggest the cheese burgers. The chili on the chili cheese fries were okay, not my personal favorite. This was my second time ever having Sonic, and I didn't get any food because we just went for dessert. The food looked pretty good, like the jalapeño poppers, but I skipped them. I ordered a turtle truffle nut milkshake. It's kind of like rocky road but has mini peanut butter cups and praline almonds. It tasted pretty good with the vanilla ice cream, but I tried my friend's slushy with Nerds candy and wished I'd gotten that instead. I'll definitely go for the slushy next time. read more

Never expected Sonic to be that good. First time, and very happy. Vanilla cold brew was fire. Mango peach refresher wasn't too sweet, just perfect. Chicken bites, pretzel, Ched R peppers had the best crispness, fries were super crispy and perfectly salty, Tropical Heat and All American burgers ALL 10/10. Service was also great. read more

Food was good but, I had a disappointing experience at Sonic Drive-In. When we arrived, the employee who greeted us came across as condescending right from the start. We asked a simple question about whether we should move to a different spot for pickup or mobile ordering, and her response was very short and came off as rude. Her tone made it feel like we were inconveniencing her just by asking. Customer service makes a big difference, and this interaction left a negative impression. We were served by sweet Bella though who was holding it together! I truly hope this reaches management to give her a shoutout, bonus, or kickback. They also seem to need more support! This store is terribly understaffed. I waited in the drive through for more than 20 minutes for a very simple order on a Sunday. Half of that was just waiting to place my order. I honestly feel like there was one, maybe two, people running the whole store. And the online ordering wasn't working. I was on my way from Desert Hille outlets to 29 Palms & decided to pick up "dinner" on the way. Two cars ahead of me in the drive thru, so I thought "this will be quick." Ha! I waited 15 minutes to pull up to order. The voice on the other end asked me to wait. Another 5 minutes. I ordered a large entree honey barbecue chicken poppers & a medium tea. $12 something total. After ordering, The car in front of me was still waiting for their order. I was trapped, unable to escape. When I finally got my order, I was handed the sticky chicken poppers with a napkin and fork on top. No bag! Ugh! Ten minutes later, I opened the poppers. You can see my photo. First off, this cannot be a large. Second they were overcooked and hard. The mess was inedible unless I wanted to risk breaking a tooth. Not recommended. read more

I want to like Sonic more. It seems fun. Its mediocre food at best. Maybe the shakes are good but I'm lactose intolerant so who knows. I think Wendy's is better for sure. We had left Pioneer Town starving and we were coerced by children to eat at Sonic. My husband had never had it before so why not. I had a regular cheeseburger with the fix'ns. My kids had Chicken Sandwiches and I don't even remember what my husband ordered. There was also a side of Chicken Strips. All together there wasn't anything that great. My son and I did our obligatory, swap our food after eat half of it so we can try two different things. My husband hated his food. We sat at the little table out front after we parked and ordered in the stall. It was a very nice sunny fall day. I just cant get into Sonic. Its just off for me. Its not just this location. Excited to discover they have the Chicago dog! My Sonic in Spokane, WA only has the All American & the Chili dog. Was pretty good! But I mainly go to Sonic for the drinks. One of my favs is Sprite with grape & limes. Arctic Circle called that a Lime Rickey, but they left Spokane years ago. There is still one in Newport, OR. Worse customer service on planet earth, pulled into a stall to order because there were 7 cars in the drive through. I watched all 7 cars get served while I was told three different times I'll be right with you. I sat close to 25 mins in the stall before my order was takin. Then waited another 20 mins for it to come out. If you want to waste a good 45 mins of your life waiting for 6 mozzarella sticks and a mini Reese's blast this place has got you covered. read more

Stopped by with my family to order dinner after 8:30. The crew working tonight (07/08/22) were extremely slow and two workers were seen using their phones while on the job. No regard for food safety as the latex gloves were not being utilized. This Sonic is always on point. I eat here a lot and the food is always freshly made. The onion rings are always crispy, they have friendly employees especially one gentleman in particular is always soooo friendly and such a joy. I always get so happy when I see him working because he radiates positivity and does his job amazingly.
