I placed an online order. I paid in advance. I did put a 10% tip on the check thinking I would double that in cash at the pickup. Three people went to the register at the pickup without even making eye contact with me. A blond walked up obviously hurried and said "I will get to you". She finished logging in about 4 times with a key card and huffing. She asked my name and yelled at the kitchen. She got my ordered and then yelled at the kitchen for a burger while giving them back my order. They yelled something back and she came up and asked me if I had a burger while handing me a drink. I said I did not have a burger nor a drink. "Well, what did you order?" She then got my order again and asked "do you want sauce?" On Monday, July 30 at approx 8 PM, wanted to get a pound of pulled pork for take out and a side or two plus a kids meal. They had it, but wouldn't sell it to us. Said they didnt have much and needed it on hand for dine in customers that might order it. Why do you even offer take out? Supply and demand not apply? I had money, you had product. Awesome experience at Sonny's today. We had three kids with us and I was so impressed that the kids menu was not your normal "hot dog, hamburger, chicken fingers" faire. They had real food with smaller portions for the kids! I wish other restaurants would take this hint. The food was amazing. The ribs were great, but the awesome waitress outshone everything. My child has a sensitivity to hot food and she LISTENED to me and discussed preparation possibilities, and took the time to warn me of likely conflicts to the sensitivity. When the food came out, everything was exactly perfect according to our discussion. I cannot tell you how often this is not true. Super kudos to Sonny's!! Loves me some sunnys. My favorite of any chain BBQ restaurant's. I am from Southern California and our BBQ is a bit different. Of course you can find a southern style by restaurant but it's not the same as the south. I love the southern style slow smoked meats with viniger sauses. This sunnys is ok. Came in while on vacation. Started with great salad bar which included soup & many great items one might not necessarily find in a typical restaurant salad bar such as seafood salad. Gigantic iced tea was great also...you won't ever leave thirsty! I had the bbq feast which was a sample of many things...all of which were very good. Brisket was nice and moist, sliced pork was white, lean, moist and very tasty, dry rub ribs were excellent, not fatty & the bbq chicken was moist tender with a nice crispy skin. Four kinds of sauce at the table gives you a lot of options, and the cornbread was moist & delicious. Mac & cheese & bbq beans on the side were also very good. Very enjoyable meal. read more

This establishment is yelp friendly and you get a free appetizer when you write a review. I've had take out in the past but never dined in. My server was friendly, attentive and fast. Portion sizes are huge so go hungry. We ordered ribs and smoked chicken wings. The ribs were a little dry with more bone than meat. The chicken was really flavorful and falling off the bone tender. We probably had most of the sides on the menu and they are all good. The baked beans and mac and cheese are my personal favorites. How does a BBQ place run of ribs this is the biggest waste of my time definitely will not return to this location again.

This was our 3rd or 4th trip since moving to the area back in June. Pretty good BBQ if there are no Rudy's around. And since there are no Rudy's outside Texas, well, this is the next best thing. They have a well stocked salad bar. You will not, however, find real bacon. Instead, you'll "enjoy" nasty fake bacon bits. Just tell yourself it's the real deal, and you'll be fine. The wait staff have always been nice. We've had the same waitress the last couple times and she's pleasant enough, and quite southern. As to the food, our fried okra appetizer was under fried, which = soggy. So we sent it back for a redo, risking them being spat in, I'm sure :-) they were plenty fried when we got them back! The Sonny's Sampler was good, as always. And my son enjoyed a hotdog and sweet potato...what a combination, I know. Oh, and last but not least, they have ceiling fans which is really important to my obsessive compulsive 3 year old boy! read more

Have been here for a few group lunches and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite spots. Their pulled pork has real texture and juiciness unlike those places that just give you a soupy hash. Their only flaw is being too good in the sense that you have to choose certain sides but want to have them all. They also do a great job maintaining quality in the later hours. It's Monday. They are out of everything, no Coleslaw, "rotten salad", pickles. It's a complete nightmare. This ship is sinking here and the manager ....? Nowhere to be found. "It's his day off." ? It's a chain- the other location is not far away. Why not get what's not in stock from a neighboring store!? Oh yea because it's the person who didn't order enough In The first place's day off!?? Literally walked out, still starving. Why play games and end up with food poisoning?! The meat was inconsistent across the table, old, dry and one member of our party literally got a plate full of nothing but shiny, white FAT. All of our meats were cold. Seemed like they had been sitting out for hours. Even the cornbread and Mac and cheese - COLD! Wow. $100 worth of PIG SLOP! We had to go to an entirely different restaurant and spend more money- Also, because of this nightmare, my little boy was up way past his bedtime and it literally ruined our entire night and our schedules and routine. Unbelievable. The waitress was wonderful however and I felt very bad for her. She agreed that this was all unacceptable but there was no manager there to take our concerns to. She told us the lettuce for the salad was "rotten, wilted and slimy" and asked if we were sure we still wanted to order it because she did not even feel comfortable serving it, so my wife couldn't even eat her entree since she ordered the bbq salad. I love coming to Sonny's because of our favorite server Tommy! Tommy is very attentive, and has this keen ability to anticipate our needs! Ordered drinks and corn fritters with extra sugar. Ordered our meal at the same time. Big mistake. When our meal arrived I complained about the fritters and wife still wanted them. The chicken was not cooked properly and the wing/breast was red and watery...BLOOD??? . The master pit boss argued profusely saying it was a smoke ring and was cooked correctly. How a smoke ring went all the way to the joint does not make sense. The pit boss said he was one of the better one's in the area and worked at Sonny's for 13 years. He vehemently argued with me and showed me, my wife and son no courtesy whatsoever. This man needs an attitude adjustment along with learning how to treat a paying customer. read more

I95 Sonny's with average service n foods. There are a couple of other Sonny's in area with the one in Merritt Island much better. Went to Melbourne Sony's w/family on Saturday, June 23rd around 7:30. There were about 7 or 8 tables occupied. There were 3 servers just standing around and didn't acknowledge our party of 4. We waited over 5 minutes. Finally seated us n server said server will be right with you. We sat there over 10 minutes and got up and left. Even tho this is a Highway 95 restaurant and I guess they don't expect to c u again, they could care less about customers. I am local and we have other choices- won't be back. This place was terrible. The table sticky, the food was terrible. Grandson receive his meal and the corn looked as if it had been under a heat lamp for hours. Fantastically good bbq. I did a sampler to get a full range and everything was excellent. Fast service, super tender pork (Get the sliced pork in lieu of pulled pork, and bbq bone chx in lieu of pulled chicken).
