We had stopped at the Brevard zoo on our way home to Fort Lauderdale when we saw the Sonny's sign. We were pretty excited, as sonny's left south Florida so we haven't had sonny's since a trip near Daytona. I was happy to see that some things haven't changed. The macaroni and cheese was just as good as we remembered. Oh how I have missed the corn nuggets with the cinnamon butter. I don't eat meat/poultry/pork but still felt there were plenty of choices for me. I had the salad bar and my husband ate the Brunswick stew that came with it. Everything was fresh and there was enough of a variety. I would have liked cucumber slices vs the diced cucumber they had, but again it was enjoyable. I also had a side of Mac n cheese. My daughter had the kid's Mac n cheese. It came with a side and she opted for the corn on the cob. My husband had the smoked turkey with, yes you guessed it, Mac n cheese. He also had broccoli which looked very good and fresh. My daughter had a slice of the turkey and enjoyed it too He also ordered the redneck egg rolls. He said they were very good. Wasn't particularly busy when we visited and the hostess/waitress (she was so awesome she was pulling double duty) was receptive, very cordial, and seated us quickly. Our food arrived on four to five minutes after we ordered (extremely fast) and everything was great taste wise. Nice visit. Clean, quiet and quick tasty lunch. We sat in the the bar area for lunch and almost before we could sit down, the bartender was helping us, which was perfect since we were somewhat short on time. Very friendly service. So I'm staying at the Hampton Inn right across the parking lot. Friend and I were going to venture elsewhere for dinner, but given I'd spent the day driving from Enterprise, AL, I was a bit exhausted and didn't feel up to yet another round of driving. Hence we wound up at Sonny's, walking in the front door at about 5:30 on a Saturday Night. Yes, I understand that's a busy time. I'd have been cool if we just had to wait a few minutes while a table was prepared for us. Instead we were seated in one of the restaurant's cross aisles. And forgotten about. I tried several times in vain to flag down a server. Upon finally succeeding, we realized that no waitress had been assigned to us. At last we got one, and she was ok, I suppose, without being particularly memorable. As for the food, it was ok, which is good because by this point I was starving. Beer selection trite. Once we got our food, it seems our server had other things to do, resulting in checkout being far more arduous than necessary. It's too bad Sonny's didn't have their collective soul together. It's not terrible, but you'll get sick of it pretty quick. They serve breakfast (eggs, grits, and pancakes, COFFEE, etc) and lunch. Many say that the breakfast is better than the lunch options. They have your standard bbq fare, meat plates and sandwiches. If you're burnt out on those, you can have them make you a wrap, or grab a salad from their refrigerated case - they will add fresh meat on top when you go through the line. The "sizzlin'" sauce was lame and did not live up to its purported name. The best part of the experience was the beer: Sonny's Red Pick-Up Ale. I don't know how this place does not have a five star rating. We stayed at the hotel right next to Sonny's barbecue and we tried it out one day. It looks brand new. Our server was absolutely amazing, I wish I could remember his name. The food was incredible. All of their barbecue sauces were to die for. It had been nearly two years since we last visited this place and we've decided to put it on our "NeverAgain" list. The pork rib combo came with three cut ribs and about a small ice cream scoop of pulled pork. The ribs were trimmed unbelievably close to the bone and what remained was incredibly tough and unfavorable. The pulled pork, and brisket contained large hunks of greasy unappealing fat. Not from the area, my wife and I were looking for dinner after a long drive near our hotel. Sonny's was almost in the same parking lot as the hotel and we thought we would give it a try. Atmosphere was very pleasant and nice. My wife ordered some type of grilled cheese with pork, which she absolutely refused to share with me! Way to delicious to share, she said. We no longer have Sonny's down here in South Florida. I have to say I miss eating there. I don't think it's the greatest BBQ I have ever had but it's good. The menu has changed since I the last time I was there. Some new items some old favorites are gone, but one thing that has not changed the friendliness of the people who work there. I tried the shredded pork egg rolls, it was good but I would have liked it better with a little soy sauce instead of the sauce it comes with. Stayed at a hotel in the area. There was a Chicfila, Mickey D's, Unos, and a Wendys...no way was I going to pass up local BBQ. Never in my life have I had BBQ that was this plain and mediocre. There was no taste to any one of their meats. I kid you not, never had ribs that looked so unappetizing. For once in my life, I questioned whether I wanted to pick up a rib. The best part of the meal? The beans and the texas/garlic toast, oh and that it took 4 minutes to get my to go ready (this is more bad than good). To top it off, the service for pickup was terrible. The girls need a reality check...they aren't going to stay young forever. Its like management figured you get some young girls working there as their operational/business strategy and moneys going to keep coming in. Which would of been fine EXCEPT it had Iceberg lettuce not mixed greens and the Chopped brisket was the fat scraps cut from the brisket and thrown in my salad. And the very small pieces of chicken were few and far between. It looked like one slice of egg finely chopped you could barely see it let alone taste it. not one crumb of bacon to be seen. We attended a wedding the evening of Saturday December 9th, 2017 in Titusville, FL. The event was catered by Sonny's BBQ, 2900 Cheney Hwy, Titusville, FL 32780. We live on the west coast of Florida and returned home the next day, Sunday, and that evening we both started feeling ill. I was able to fight thru it and make it to work but my better half was been out of work two days with major stomach distress and unable to even get out of bed or hold food down for 32 hours straight. After several days of extreme distress we received a message from the groom's mother asking if either of us were having stomach issues. Turned out her husband had been home extremely sick for the last two days. The bride and groom had also been sick for days. The bride's mother was so ill that she went to the doctor who diagnosed her with a confirmed case of food poisoning. The majority of the people attending the weeding were sick with the total rising to 45. Was a pretty rough honeymoon and was not a good experience for anyone who attended. From what we understand they groom's and bride's mothers have both been in touch with the Sonny's who catered and were told there was no way it could be their food denying any culpability in the situation. I think there are 45 people who would disagree with that statement. The bride and groom's mothers have contacted the health department as this seems a bit more than a coincidence. Highly doubtful we'll visit a Sonny's again, especially this one. read more

I really enjoy good BBQ, and I was excited about trying this place. I ordered the Pork & Pork meal, which comes with sliced pork and pulled pork and two sides (sweet potato and vegetables). The food was okay, it's not the best BBQ I've had. Or even in the top 10, but it was a decent meal $15 including a salad bar and tip. I thought the sliced pork was good, and the pulled pork was a bit dry for my taste. If you're staying at the hotel next door, I would recommend this place. That was the best thing to come to the table. The ribs were dry. The brisket was dry. The pulled pork was mush pork. The chicken was void of flavor past the seasoning on the skin. The french fries tastes like old peanuts. I couldn't tell you what the cornbread tastes like because they gave me garlic bread! The waitress brought me the bill without asking if I wanted anything else so I didn't bother with dessert. However she did ask if we wanted fresh to go cups of sweet tea. Revisited this past weekend at the urging of my 9 year old son. He loves their BBQ shredded pork sandwich, and offer of Mac/cheese as a side item. He also loves mixing the 4 available BBQ sauces. I ordered a specialty plate with sliced and shredded pork. The price was downright low as was the portion sizes. It came with a side item and kids snapped up the corn on the cob. I would have paid more for a little more protein and perhaps another side item. I would love be to give a higher score but the salad bar appears to be getting smaller and smaller at this location with very little other than the very basics. It's not even worth the included price. Perhaps it's because I remember the original Sonnys with the huge bar with many items. It would be nice to see a Brunswick Stew and some light desert like banana pudding added. The service is great and place was not busy. I went there for dinner on June 9th 2022. The worst BBQ I have ever had! I ordered a chicken and sliced pork plate. The pork was undercooked and very fatty. I asked the waitress to take the pork back and cook it some more. She brought me back a small plate with some more pork on it that was well cooked. The chicken breast that I had was very dried out and flavorless. The chicken breasts looked and tasted like it was cooked the day before! When I got the bill for the meal I was charged $4 for the Pork that she brought me it should have been a replacement for the uncooked pork to start with. I placed an online order. I paid in advance. I did put a 10% tip on the check thinking I would double that in cash at the pickup. Three people went to the register at the pickup without even making eye contact with me. A blond walked up obviously hurried and said "I will get to you". She finished logging in about 4 times with a key card and huffing. She asked my name and yelled at the kitchen. She got my ordered and then yelled at the kitchen for a burger while giving them back my order. They yelled something back and she came up and asked me if I had a burger while handing me a drink. I said I did not have a burger nor a drink. "Well, what did you order?" She then got my order again and asked "do you want sauce?" Inside the KSC Food Court, I think-- there's two locations at least. Pretty typical cafeteria food... decent enough BBQ, but nothing special. If at the KSC Food Court location, there's only one other restaurant inside, a few registers, cheap fountain drinks, and ample seating. Definitely crowded at mealtimes, but really not too bad for a cafeteria. read more
