Lunch was very good. Our waitress was as great! The only complaint we had the 2 times going to this location was it took forever to get our food. Place is nice inside.

I went by the drive thru earlier during peak lunch hours. This is what I was served. Ribs and brisket were both old and dried out. Brisket was even changing colors. Sides were cold. What adult person thinks this is okay or even safe to serve the general public? The manager tried to offer a free meal replacement. Who the actual fck would want to eat here again? They all need to go back and finish school. #healthdepartment #foodpoisoning #safeserv

The absolute WORST experience we've ever had at any Sonny's EVER and we've been to Sonny's from St. Cloud, Fl to Tallahassee. We arrived and waited a few to be seated. Our waitress was a sweet girl who quickly took our drink and appetizer orders. Those came out quickly and then she took our food orders. I ordered the 2 meat 1/4 white and upgraded to baby back ribs for the extra $3 up-charge. My husband attempted to order the three meat plate but they were out of brisket and pork so he asked to do all you can eat ribs (St. Louis Style). My 15 year old wanted the brisket grilled cheese but had to order a burger. One of my other sons ordered chicken tenders. When the food came out, they had substituted my upgraded ribs for the St. Louis style ribs. No one had asked me if that was OK. They just decided to do it and told me about it when they brought out my plate. I refused those ribs because I do not like that style of rib. My husband ended up taking them on his plate and the waitress offered to bring me out another chicken breast and wing. I agreed and when she brought it out, it was dry! You can tell it had been sitting up there all day. My 15-year-old's burger was burnt. My other son's chicken tenders were burnt. I had them remake them and when they remade them, he bit into them and they were frozen on the inside and raw. I spoke to the manager, and although he was apologetic, he did not seem sincere. He remade more, but my son was afraid to eat them and ended up trashing them. The manager did say he was going to take care of our bill, but when the waitress came we were still charged for our drinks. The waitress asked if we wanted her to go and tell the manager to remove them and we told her no because we still wanted to tip her what the total bill would have been if we had to pay for it because it was not her fault. She was very apologetic and we could tell she felt bad about everything. I would not recommend this location! I wish I would have taken the time to read the reviews before bringing my family here but after being on the road for 12 hours, I just just wanted to sit down and be able to enjoy a meal and I regret it! My son threw up in the parking lot immediately after walking out. My husband had an upset stomach from 1am-4am and it was definitely from the food.

First time at this Sonny's location in Timberland ln. It was very busy today, but who doesn't like a great deal for $5.50 & $10. Service was trying to keep up with all the orders, so even though it was online to go, I still had to wait a while. The food was piping hot and ready for consumption once received. Overall, the staff seemed nice, just busy. I'll try them again soon.

My go to restaurant when in Tallahassee for church. I usually get a pound of brisket to go. For $27.00, I can eat for several days with it. When eating in I usually get the brisket grilled cheese. This was enhanced with the candied bacon and wish they would bring that back and make it a permanent menu item! Two meats is another favorite with the beans and rice. Their sweet tea is great and they will give you a large cup to go. For any budget from $9 to about $30 they have something for everyone. For $50 the family meal is perfect for 4.

The story. I ate at that first Sonny's shortly after it opened and it has been good ever since.

This is our second favorite Sonny's in town. It would be our first if it was closer to home because the overall feel when we dined in was better here and service is just a little bit better. It has been a brand new Sonny's twice courtesy of a massive fire that had them closed for an extended period of time. After a total demolish and rebuild, they had hardly been reopened when the pandemic hit. As a result, we have only used their drive through service so far but that has been a much better experience than at our usual Sonny's on N. Monroe. This bbq chain that originated in Gainesville Fl does a good job of consistently delivering tasty bbq. For a few years now they have been creating new menu items to keep their menu interesting. We love their smoked wings. A pound of their smoked turkey is a great alternative to take home for sandwiches. Much better than anything from the grocery deli. I have become enamored with their Smokin' Gun sandwich with chopped brisket, sausage, peppers and onions. It's always a taste treat. I think their crinkle cut fries are the best in town and their sweet tea is excellent. Our drive through experiences have been excellent with quick and accurate service done with a smile.

The road construction in the Market St district has not deterred us from making our regular burger night. Do not let it stop you. Tip... The burgers are served in the bar only. If you crave their savory Wagyu burger be sure to reserve a seat in bar/bistro seating OR visit them on their new Burger Monday in the dining room. It looks like they have a great new Monday night burger special with a wine pairing.

My two food items were the Thai Peanut Cauliflower and the Mafaldine Limone Pasta. Devoured separately, of course. Both were high acid and beautiful. Food was absolutely delicious. Hubby and I ordered a few appetizers as well as the chefs tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The appetizers we chose were the charred octopus and the fire roasted oysters. Both were wonderful but the octopus was a standout. For the tasting menu, it changes daily and is 4 courses with a dessert course to round out the meal. Ours happened to include: Sausage w olive tapenade, Filet w tomato and veggie chow chow (so tasty), Duck tostada w avocado crema, Elk filet w hasselback potatoes and asparagus (show stopper), and Orange rice pudding w pistachio cookie crumble which was such a nice, light way to end the meal. One thing to note: they automatically add 18% gratuity to your bill which is split between all front of house and back of house staff. Anything you leave above this will go directly to your waiter. There is a card they leave when they drop off the bill that explains this more eloquently than I am but I found it to be unique that they openly discuss it instead of adding it to the bill with no notice or explanation.

Chef's duckfat cornbread drizzled with just the right amount of avocado butter provided the perfect podium on which two blackened shrimp lightly dusted with a hint of subtle spices rested. If you know me, you know I don't like my food to hurt me, and this dish met my requirements with a whisper of, "Here I am." Now, my hubby doesn't like anything with coffee, so he was worried about the hickory smoked chicken with espresso molasses BBQ sauce. However, he admitted the sauce didn't have any hint of coffee and, in fact, it was a delicious complement to the chicken. However, on a recent trip I discovered something a bit disturbing and honestly confusing. I was with a group of colleagues, and three of us have Alpha Gal (red meat allergy caused by the lone star tick). Thankfully I desensitized myself enough that I can eat SOME red meat. The other two are highly sensitive. I ordered the wings again and passed them around to share. One of my AG friends ate one and the other asked the waitress if there is cross contamination. We were informed that the wings are fried in BEEF tallow. I panicked because the one friend is so sensitive that she can't even go to a petting zoo with hoofed mammals without reacting. So lucky that she had taken an Allegra that day which helps with the allergy enough that one wing fried with beef fat won't cause anaphylaxis. However, if the other girl had eaten it, she very likely could have had a terrible reaction. It does not state on the menu that the wings are fried in beef tallow. It's very important that allergens such as this are noted. I would never have thought myself that it was fried in beef fat. I would've thought it was vegetable or peanut oil. I would hope that this restaurant will add red meat allergens to their menu as Alpha Gal is becoming more and more common. Better yet, don't use beef products to cook chicken products.
