Dragon Maki Roll, Caterpillar Maki Roll

We continue recommending this place after trying different dishes in the menu. We would have to say it is a hidden gem at Arlington. In particular, the lunch special has good cost and quality ratio. Our only complaint was that the staff were sometimes too busy to handle the takeout/cleaning/greeting..... it happened a couple of times that one or two things on our order were left out and not packed in the takeout bag.....

Thank you, Sono -- the boat was a big hit at our Super Bowl party! The rolls were made with obvious care; our guests enjoyed everything.

This is actually the first time I came here. I'm staying over with my sis in Arlington for a while and they told me Sono is a good place to go for fresh fish and sushi. Now, I wouldn't say the service is the best, but the food definitely is!!!!! I ordered shrimp tempura maki, uni sushi and salmon sashimi! They are all great!!!! The uni sushi got me flying.... And the price is so cheap I can't even believe it!! The boss himself is so kind cuz the waitress ordered something wrong with me, and he didn't even blame her. I will definitely come back on Thursday cuz they say they are getting fat tuna lol!

Not impressed. Mediocre sushi. Awful crab Rangoon. They must have been deep fried in old oil. They were not fresh and delicious. The restaurant itself is really cute. Maybe I just had a bad experience here but I have to say I'm disappointed because it's a cute little neighborhood place and now I don't want to go back.

Excellent local sushi place. I enjoyed lunch with my brother and his son-in-law on a quiet Thursday. We all enjoyed a fatty tuna sashimi starter followed by the maki special- a lot of maki for the money. Lots of choices of maki- I had the spicy tuna, spicy salmon and California. The sushi and sashimi was generous in quantity and very good, but just short of great. I've had fatty tuna which seemed to dissolve like butter in my mouth and this was just a bit better than normal tuna. The spicy tuna and salmon weren't as spicy as I like, but this is nit-picking because this place is really good and I will be back. Service was friendly and effficient.

We are HUGE fans of Sono! Absolutely love coming here. My husband and I have been regulars since the first month they opened. They were spotty in the beginning so we didn't frequent it as much, but the last year and the half, they have improved to near perfection. I'll comment on service first. Absolutely top notch. The waitresses are friendly, efficient, and prompt without being intrusive. You really can't get much better than those attributes when it comes to customer service. The owner, Tom, is always there. I think he works 7 days a week. And he is so hands-on. Whether he's helping the front of the house, the back of the house, the sushi bar, or occasional deliveries....you're in good hands with Tom, and the people who work for him. Now the good stuff: SUSHI. Always fresh! How do I know they're fresh? We live right across from Sono. Literally a minute slow walk. Our front window faces the restaurant so I always know when their seafood deliveries come in. It's not just the freshness, although that is the deal breaker for sushi, but their cut is very generous. And I don't mean the rice part either, I mean they truly load you up with the good stuff. And the hot Sake! You can't do sushi without Sake. We usually order 4 carafes, but on occasions, we'll do 5. We walk back responsibly to our front door, looking left to right, to left again before crossing Summer St :-) We are lucky to live in such close proximity to Sono because these guys are awesome! Plenty of street parking, however they do have their own parking lot behind the restaurant. The bar counter gets pretty busy during the weekends. I guess people enjoy watching the chefs do their thing. We prefer the corner table....

Great spot for lunch specials or a dinner. Sit at the bar or get a table, sushi & drinks are solid! Fried rice is tight :)

Was ok. Orange chicken was a B, coconut shrimp were an A, didn't care for the Japanese sesame chicken.

Our first visit to Boston. Our first visit to North End. We used Yelp! To pick out a dinner spot…read morebased on ratings and restaurant description. Even before we got to our spot, we saw this tiny little place with an open air kitchen and a line of people almost a block long waiting to get in. My wife commented, "that's the place we should be eating....". Now our dinner wasn't bad, but truthfully, being 1/2 Sicilian, I've been eating home cooked Italian food my whole life. It takes a pretty great plate of pasta to move the needle for me. Again, the spot we picked was fine, but I kept thinking about what my wife had said earlier.... The next evening we weren't in the North End, but we found out the place everyone was waiting in line for was called The Daily Catch, and the REAL great news was they had a 2nd Waterfront location close to where we were hanging.. we snagged a table for two and had the meal we were looking for the first night. P.J. was our server and he was fucking great. Friendly, funny and honest, he made great recommendations and we were NOT disappointed. I ordered the Aolio Olio with calamari and black squid ink pasta. Absolutely amazing! My wife ordered the Scallops and Linguine in white sauce and again, it was lights out. Four days later we returned to North End - for our last day in town - and remembering the line, we decided lunch might be the safer bet to try and avoid the crowds. Imagine our surprise when we were seated by P.J., who waited on us during our first visit. As cool as their waterfront location was (it was definitely bigger), their North End spot has just got this vibe.... Now the weather was PERFECT during our lunch - sunny and in the 70's. We sat just off the street and ordered the Lobster Fra Diavolo (P.J.'s recommendation again). Again, he knocked it out of the park... and the serving for one person was more than enough for two. It was literally one of the best plates of food I've ever eaten. The Daily Catch in North end literally seats 22 guests and is cash only. There were three staff working the tiny space, and the open air kitchen and super friendly chef (didn't get his name) all added to what ended up being a truly unique experience. This place is no joke. If you're in Boston, and you want fresh and delicious Italian seafood... look no further.

We were on the tail end of a long east coast vacation recently when we found ourselves in Boston…read morewhich overlapped with the World Cup festivities. Downtown was packed! On our itinerary was to do The Freedom Trail and have some pasta for dinner though I wasn't sure where. It turned out that we wandered through North End which had some incredible ambience so I decided we would eat an early dinner at The Daily Catch since it was a small place and due to the amount of people out and about. Fortunately we got in within minutes of waiting. My family wasn't exactly hungry but we ordered the black pasta aglio olio and the black pasta Alfredo. Given the small restaurant / just a few tables, the kitchen was highly efficient and brought the food out quick. It was fun to watch our dinner cooked as we were seated next to the kitchen. The aglio olio is something I could eat regularly. The ground calamari was unique and it was loaded with sautéed garlic. The best! I probably wouldn't order the Alfredo again personally but the kids liked it. Overall a great experience on a hot day. We were in and out fairly quick. Service was solid.

I was not impressed. The grouper and my uncles steak were cooked perfectly. My knock on the grouper…read morewas it didn't have a "char" as advertised but still was good. The rice was undercooked... like very undercooked and the carrots weren't consistent. They also forgot an order. My crab cake was delicious but it was more like a crab like which was fine. The salad it came with was 1/4 wilted and brown... wth, for nearly $30 they could pick out the junk. Service was above average for the "type" of restaurant this place was pretending to be.

Spent a 28th birthday celebration as first-timers here. The inside is open and modern--not terribly…read moreintimate if you're hoping to be sequestered from other diners. Tables and half booths are the seating arrangements. Our server, Samantha, and her back waiter, Liam, were attentive and friendly. They were available when needed but kept a low profile. We started with calamari and the pork belly with Brussels sprouts slaw (my fav). The bread service is a mix of warm white & pretzel rolls with whipped butter. Food was excellent (the lobster mac n cheese was the overall fav) amongst Mexican corn and cauliflower gratin. The mashed potatoes were excellent and sturdy! Our filets were excellent and the birthday girl had the scallops over risotto. I thought the risotto looked a little wet, but she didn't complain. The slice of flourless chocolate bd cake with candle was a nice offering. We added the vanilla bean cheesecake with blueberry compote and a PB Budino that was reportedly decadent (and easily shared between 2 people). A crème brûlée was also consumed! Cocktails were also very good and they didn't skimp on the booze!
