We have bought baked goods from them at the Old Greenwich Farmer's Market, which, understandably, is closed in the winter. Their English muffins are so fantastic (plain and scallion) that we drive to their stores in Darien and Norwalk to get them. It's so worth the time and gas! read more

I ordered 2 pies a few weeks before Thanksgiving, and the photo below was one of them. The pie was burnt. I was rightfully upset so I messaged them on IG with a photo, stating I was disappointed. They liked my photo, and never responded I'll never go back. read more

Second time here and it's average. It's always packed so I am wondering if I'm just ordering the wrong things. On this occasion we noticed almond milk lattes which were very good - not sweet, but not bitter. We arrived an hour before closing, ordered a salted chocolate chip cookie and it was so hard, it bordered inedible. You could tell the flavor would have been good, but disappointed that they sold it to us so stale. Would only go back for coffee or if someone else suggested it. read more

Tried Sono for coffee and light pastries on a Saturday morning. My husband got a latte and I got a normal coffee. Both coffees were amazing. I tried the chocolate almond biscotti and he got an almond croissant and we loved both. A little pricey but understandable. Can't wait to try more pastries, the breakfast sandwiches/burritos, and of course the fresh bread! Will definitely be back. read more

After buying some breakfast items here several years ago I didn't feel compelled to return. Having recently been given a gift certificate, I bought a danish, scone and loaf of sourdough bread. The best I can say is that this bakery is uninspired. The scone was inedible - flat, dry and flavorless - not worth the calories. The raspberry danish had no more than 1/2 teaspoon of raspberry jam, was dry and tasted like it was well over a day old. The sourdough bread is okay. With below average edibles, I thought SoNo's service must be the reason their customers return. Well, not for me. The bespectacled woman who 'helped' me at the Darien store was surly and had no idea how to process a gift certificate. She actually snarled at me because she couldn't understand why my gift certificate wouldn't work on the credit card screen she kept giving me to complete. I stop in here often for coffee and a mid day snack. I really like the mini quiches and coffee. Just right for a light lunch or snack. The breakfast sandwiches are also very good. The staff is friendly and efficient. I like sitting outside at their patio tables. Coffee is very good!! read more

I came in the afternoon so my review might be bias that most of the the baked goods were gone. I usually go to the other location in Norwalk. This one has little seating. Parking in front or a back parking lot and entrance is both in front and back. They seem to carry all the breads from the Norwalk location. They also have all the coffee and teas they off in Norwalk. I didn't notice that they serve breakfast like in Norwalk. I do like the baked goods and this is closer than Norwalk. read more

OK. First of all why are all these people from far away locations giving negative reviews? I have lived here my whole life, currently in Darien and I have to say: I have NEVER had anything better then the almond croissants here at this beautiful local spot. The chocolate croissants run a close second but the Almond croissants are unfreikingbelievable. The cafe in Darien is cozy and perfect. I love their salads. And the waitstaff is very courteous and helpful. If you have had their food you would not post a negative review. Period. read more

The staff is very kind and make the atmosphere feel warm. Everything is fresh and delicious. I'm from Texas so whenever I visit somewhere else, even just another town in my state, I look for excellent customer service. This is a place I would tell people is definitely worth the travel. I was not very satisfied with my quinoa cookie so the woman working was so kind, she gave me recommendations for other cookies to try & swapped mine out for another one. I was very pleased. I was in town visiting my parents with my two kids and had decided to take a stop into this bakery in the morning around 9am. My first impression was that the store was clean, food was displayed nicely, and looked appealing to the eye. When I went to order, the cashier who started helping me came off as rude. I remember specifically that she had a bit of an attitude with me. She seemed very unpleasant and unhappy to be working there. Rather than being courteous and patient, I felt extremely rushed because my kids weren't exactly sure what they had wanted for breakfast right away. Aside from that poor experience, the food was great. I loved what I had and my kids loved their breakfast as well. It's sad that the only reason I will not be coming to this place again is only because I felt intimidated by this woman (older blonde lady with glasses) in front of my kids. If it was not for her, this would be a solid five star review. read more

Ordered a birthday cake for my uncle's 75th. The baker could not pay attention to what they were supposed to write and write the wrong number. No one checked it either. We ended up having to go to both locations and wasting a good chunk of our morning getting this fixed. To top off the experience the cake was fair at best very dry, not moist at all. Such a huge disappointment. I don't mind spending $50 for an 8" cake if it was great, but that was sad. read more

Quite possibly the Best bacon egg and cheese sandwich ever created. The homemade English muffins are incredible, and it's always a good idea to bring home some bread. And they do a great job with their coffee. read more

I'm done ya'll. Been coming here for two years. They are always out of items on the menu (i.e. Fruit, yogurt parfaits) Or plain just don't know the menu (there are two laminated sheets...but you can't remove them from the register area?) or you get apple slices that taste like onions (unwashed knife?) or you get eggs that are brown (unwiped cook plate?) or runny when you order scrambled, or toast with no butter or jam and you have to ask for it. All fine things if it were diner style but this is a place charging 5-6 bucks for an egg sandwich. Please upgrade the experience to match the prices. read more

Amazing pastries and coffee. Worth the money! Kind of small, but usually not very crowded. Nice area to walk in and parking is plentiful. It has replaced Starbucks for my wife and me. read more
