All these rules and lifeguards barking at people is for your own safety. Rules are in place for a reason. No one wants to see you get hurt. As for the people in the front desk. I didn't get any attitude of any sort. They seemed nice and helpful too. All-in-all I'd definitely come back again. ‍

Haven't been inside for some time, so not sure what all is currently there. Not usually too busy or crowded, but there is almost always someone there, either at the basketball courts, the field, playground area, picnic tables, or fitness court. The "Fitness Court" is a national fitness program, and has a Google App that you can download to find other "courts" in other towns across the country, as well as see examples of how to do the exercises with the equipment, and keep track of your progress.

Have never had a problem with the kids at the park. Located a block from the East Mesa Pool. This is another plus. Also Nearby is the Sage Cafe Senior center which holds lots of activities like coffee get togethers, exercise, etc. Convenience store a block away as well as a Dominos Pizza. Generally a nice little park in an out of the way location.

Families swimming and couples kayaking in the Rio Grande! Best. Day. Ever. This park is pretty neat too. There's a small playground that seems well maintained and a trail that goes for miles following the Rio Grande. There are also fire pits placed strategically throughout this park on the river bank. And grass...grasssssssss galore! And frogs! The only reason I'm docking a store is because of the storm of mosquitoes. I grew up near water, but I've never walked into a cloud of mosquitoes. Bug spray is a necessity.

This small but well maintained park is perfect for families and definitely worth a stop! The ranger…read morewas amazing and went out of his way to make our visit to the park magical. We loved the exhibition hall where all all of the exhibits were hands on including a sand table where kids can make impressions from cast animal prints and the touch table where rangers had set our objects found on the trail for kids to hold and handle (today was mesquite pods, a rodent skeleton, cactus fruits, feathers, a birds nest, and shells). There were also scavenger hunt pages specific to the park to make the hikes fun for kids. The upland trail was the perfect post meal walk for our family (4 year old and 7 year old), if we'd come in the cool of the morning or evening we might have gone for both loops. Even if you're not up for a hike the garden and bird blind behind the visitors center are worth the trip. There are a beautiful variety of plants from the park with labels and rangers put out water to attract animals to the garden. In just a few minutes we saw cottontail rabbits, two kinds of lizards, a family of quail, and many many birds - some of which a friendly ranger helped us identify.
