Ambiance is cool, nice shaded area so even mid day, it's not too bad, service is pretty quick, they hand you a little buzzer thing to let you know when your food is ready which is nice Food is great, only thing I would change is the guacamole, it tastes like the premade "wholly guacamole" which just leaves a bad taste.

Made a trip out to Arizona around Valentines Day. We were looking for a place to eat that was open late and decided to try Sonora Hotdogs. The girl that took our order was very sweet and helpful and everyone in the food truck was also so sweet. It definitely felt like a family environment. We ordered the Carne Asada Fries, the Birria Ramen and 3 Quesabirria tacos. The food was amazing and the portions were generous for the price. We paid close to $40 and ate it for dinner that evening and lunch the next day. We asked them for sauces so we could try them and they hooked it up. If you are ever in the area snd looking for a late night food stop, definitely recommend Sonora Hotdogs. We called ahead to make sure they were open and they did not disappoint!!

Being new to Maricopa I'm always looking for a new place to try out. It doesn't matter if it's brick and mortar or a roll along food truck. Now how it looks this food truck stays stationary which is a great thing, you don't have to go and try to find it. This place was a great little truck with great food. We made this trip simple with getting all different types of tacos. These were the most flavorful tacos I ever had. Next time I will try other items that they have. The people that work on the truck were very nice to us. I asked for a little help with the menu and the girl that was taking the orders was so nice with explaining things to us. We will be back - if you never tried it, head on over to the truck.

Sonora Hot Dogs 44301 W Maricopa-Casa Grande Hwy, Maricopa AZ 85138 September 3, 2021 Friday- 5:10 PM for dinner 1 Adult Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 5 stars Service - 4.5 stars Background - Last Friday I tried a classic AZ food item, and I am trying another, the Sonora Hot Dog.  Just in case you did not read the business name.  But is the Sonora Hot Dog really an Arizona food item as it comes from the state of Sonora in Mexico. Atmosphere - A food truck, okay a trailer, that parks in the same spot a few nights a week.  They are located in one of the older strip malls of Maricopa.  The place has character compared to most of Maricopa that has been recently built.  Their menu is all Mexican food.  Bright yellow trailer off to the side of one of the older complex.  The white board style menu is too basic, and should be updated to something easier to read.  They do have a large outdoor covered seating area with half the area filled with tables.  I would say boarding on a barn atmosphere as the other half the ground is covered in hay. Dinner - I ordered two Sonora Hot Dogs, total with credit card charge was under $10.  Wikipedia states a Sonora Hot Dog is hot dog that is wrapped in bacon and grilled, served on a bolillo-style hot dog bun, and topped with pinto beans, onions, tomatoes, and a variety of additional condiments, often including mayonnaise, mustard, and jalapeño salsa.  Mine did not come with pinto or any other type of bean.  I knew about the Sonora Hot Dog but had no clue about the bolillo bun, wow that was great surprise.  My first bite but was too sweet, it was mostly the mustard, ketchup, and salsa with the dog.  I added the green salsa, heat and the cheese crumble made the dog.  The salsa cups are tiny, but one cup per dog worked perfectly.  Wow I am huge fan of their Sonora Hot Dog, I want to try other versions now. Service - Pretty simple.  I was asked to move my car, they really should block the west parking lot off better.  I was not planning to park their that long, it was just hit and run type of night.  But moved to a numbered parking spot per their request. Future - Yes, maybe even their Mexican food.  Okay a Sonora Hot Dog is a Mexican spin on the classic American hot dog.

    The menu!

You know I used to love this place....but not so much these days. The last 4 times I've been here, they've gotten my order wrong and, I'm not even ordering anything complicated. It's the same order everytime. The first time they messed up my order, I reached out to the owner who said "sorry". The 2nd and 3rd time I let at least a month go by before going back. Now after last night, I'm not sure I'll be back. We always order a bnc burrito and we add asada. The last few times our burrito was just beans and meat. We order super nachos with everything yet the nachos didn't have any Pico and else even told them at the time of order everything on them. The pastor tacos have no pinapple. Is it really that hard to get the order right? This has happened the last 4 times I've been here.... I guess I need to find a new taco spot.

I ordered this on Doordash to send to my father. I want these tacos but sadly, I live in Michigan.

But this place seriously nails it. Even the rice has lil corn pieces and so you might think it's "weird" but it's INCREDIBLE. Best flavors ever. The Camarón (shrimp) is super juicy and moist and seasoned with garlic and everything. I haven't had Mexican food this good In so long. I have been here for 19 years and going to this location since it opened in Maricopa. And every time I order something new I have an even better meal than the one before. Big portions, fast service. 7.8/10 chips and salsa. I wish they had a chunky salsa with it. The shrimp fajitas made my ancestors very pleased. I was in heaven. It's a beautiful family restaurant and there is live music at 4pm on Mother's Day. All day happy hour for Mother's Day. 2pm-6pm is the daily happy hour Margaritas are $4.75 or something like that. Amazing deal.

No one was at the counter when we arrived so we waited to be seated. The young woman who seated us was pleasant. Our waiter arrived 3-5 minutes with chips and salsa, I requested salsa verde which took 5 minutes and had to be asked for again. The waiter returned 5-7later took our order and returned 5 minutes later with our drinks. Then the white family of five arrived and were seated in the booth behind us. Immediately our waiter was there taking their drink order. The bus boy hurriedly brought them chips and salsa. Within 3 minutes their orders were taken and given to the kitchen. My friend and I began to worry what was the hold up with our order, our waiter rushed by with a drink order lower his head to avoid eye contact or any acknowledgment. Guess what happened next the white family received their order I told my friend I am out! No way was this acceptable. As we were leaving the greeter thank us for coming stop mid sentence when she realized we were never served. My friend ask to speak with the manager , the manager was our waiter. I am not sure why we were treated so poorly, we are quiet and respectful. We patiently waited for our order. The manager decided that we need to wait til he served the white family that arrived after us first, I feel like this money is green and the color of your skin should not be a factor. If you don't want certain ethnicity to come to your restaurant then you should relocate to a place that does not have a diverse population. In closing I would say if you don't mind being treated like shit go to Plaza Bonita! Disrespect is served in abundance!

Where do I start! Disappointment is an understatement! We definitely were not welcomed! No…read moreexaggeration included! For starters, the seat yourself arrangement is the most uncomfortable arrangement in the city. You stand at the front door with other hungry patrons literally hovering over already occupied tables trying not to stare while patiently waiting for them to finish. This is unavoidable since there's nothing else to look at while waiting. Uncomfortable for those eating and those waiting. Lol, The hungry will always win the staring contest. Gives off the vibes of being rushed or rushing those seated. Get a number system or incorporate some other form of notifying waiting guest that can comfortably wait "outside" considering the minimal amount of space. Once a table came available we begin seating our kids when the grumpy busboy says " I usually don't let people sit while I'm wiping the table". Which we completely understood and apologized but felt the need to quickly make our way to an open table before the other surrounding groups did since theres no way to tell who arrived first. Granted, we watched him clean the table once but decided to make a second pass. Not too big of a deal but there's more. Once seated with drinks we watched the group(s) behind us finally get seated and thats when the hospitality true feeling of our presence began to show. After finishing a cup of coffee we watched the family ahead of us get there plates, start smacking on the country fried steak, licking the gravey running down the side of their arms and an abundance of refills of coffee for every table except ours. We are now 45 min in watching this atrocity take place next to us while our stomachs touch our backs. At this point we're debating on paying for the drinks and leaving. From the time we received our drinks, the family ahead of us were not only served but finished eating and now chatting it up. We're pretty patient people and understand that eating out during peak hours will take time, but with that being said, taking time doesn't mean that the group in front of you can be fed and finish along with the groups 10 min behind you placing order, getting refilled coffee AND receiving their plates before our second cup of coffee let alone a plate or apology for the delay is cool. Nope, 1 hr + in and we just kept getting ignored. Made eye contact with the gentleman taking orders with the mobile register and the heavy set waitress skipping out on the coffee refills and both quickly looked away. It wasn't until the grumpy busboy saw us and asked if we needed anything. At that point I thought he was being sarcastic but he actually slightly redeemed himself by taking care of the 2nd cup of coffee. We took two sips and decided enough was enough. I made my way to the register to let the busboy (hate calling him that but I didn't get a name) know that we will just pay for our drinks and exit stage left. He apologized and told me not to worry about the drinks and we left. In short (sarcasm here) Thank you Headquarters for providing a teachable moment for my kids and shout out to Deny's for unknowingly recovering this fumble. SMH! I'll just continue to keep passing by this place without hesitation. Never thought I'd say this about any establishment because we all have bad days but I would give a zero if I could. Unfortunate for sure because it smelled really good, it was the service that stunk!
