Great food! I've patronized this restaurant for several years now and every time its the same thing. I've never been disappointed with what I ordered and they usually don't get anything wrong. However, if you're willing to wait like 20 years or so for robot servers and waiters I would have to say please do come back then..... if it's still open. The service here is bad. Not Michael Jackson BAD, but like, bad bad. And you know what, I wouldn't blame it entirely on the waiters and staff. I'm going to go ahead and blame management. For this problem to be this systematic that it's spanned several years and many, many different employees, it's something beyond just rude servers and waiters. They honestly must not be paying the folks much. Maybe there skimming their tips. Maybe due to the area they aren't getting much tips. Whatever the reason, it's a management issue. HEY MANAGEMENT! This my first visit and after reading the reviews I expected there would be a wait and the food would more than make up for the wait. I was WRONG! My experience was opposite that of the reviews. There was no wait, we were a large group of 10 and were seated right away. Only the parking was bad.... Next door at the gas station. I saw the menu and decided the picture for the campechana cocktail looked good while others in my part ordered the mixed seafood and meet platter. The campechana cane with three oysters on the side that were decent. Only one had enough "meat". The campechana itself was bad! Too much imitation crab meat and the shrimp was tough and chewy. Hardly any squid and a decent amount of small scallops . After tasting the cocktail and seeing that there was not enough "juice" I added lemon and ketchup to make the campechana more palatable. When eating this, it occurred to me that this was not fresh but "frozen fresh" mixed seafood that already comes prepackaged and cooked.... The type they use for gumbo. This explained why little "juice", added seasoning, and Chewy seafood. At $14.95 this is overpriced! Instead of chips or tostadas they give you saltine crackers! Next time I have craving for seafood cocktail I will just look for a Mexican Seafood Truck parked near a park and eat there! The only think I liked was the white rice which did not have too much chicken broth or salt and the guacamole with chips! read more

Okay okay wacha esto... The pupusas were good. I can say they are on the bombusas side. They was really bomba!!! I had a queso con lorocco and revuelta and I had the chicharron con yucca plate. Now, yeah, it was a lot. I had to take it home and eat it for laters. The portions are good. Why go somewhere and pay so much for so little. The setting in here reminds me of a club or something. Very nice. I also had the ensalada. I couldn't finish that either. The pastelitos...same thing. Took it home. Let's just say everything I had was uneaten and I had to take it all home. Eaten here before and the food is pretty delicious but oh my god is the service here BAD! Just arrived with a party of 5 (myself included) and we waited about 5 minutes to be seated. The waitress came and told us they don't have a table for our party. We asked can you please put a small table together with another regular and we were straight up refused. We then asked well can we be seated on the second floor since it's empty and she then again said no we don't open the second floor until 8pm. I'm upset because the food here is great and delicious but the service here is TERRIBLE, they didn't even try to seat us, and what's even worse they weren't busy. read more

The location its LA don't expect too much parking hard. If you are not local you won't know who is the boss who is the manager or who is in charge. Definitely one of my favorite places to go eat pupusas, drink a margarita, and listen to some tunes in the juke box! The chips and avocado given for a starter is a delightful plus! Only gave a 4 out of 5, because more music should be played especially because not everyone remembers or is aware that they need to bring quarters to pay for some music or else good luck with that! The place has a big following but personally I was not satisfied with the service. The food is good, I had a squash with cheese pupusa - but they do run at $3.25 each for an average size. Our first time here, we ordered some pupusas and a tamal de gallina, and 1 tostada de chevichi. The food was really good. The pupusa de revueltas were very good the Camaron was ok it wasn't nasty but I felt like the curtido that you put on over powered the shrimp one. But over all the food tasted great. Now the service was not great once we finish ordering it took about 10 min for them to come tell me they had no more tamales so I just ordered another pupusa no biggie rite , she didn't come check up to see if we needed anything, once she came we asked for more drinks and wow that took a while I mean it wasn't busy, I'm a very patient person and honestly dislike to give bad reviews or anything negative but the service has a lot to be worked on. We made reservations for 18 people for our agency's staff appreciation day. When we arrived we were told that they would not serve our party since we did not pay a deposit. Nothing was mentioned about a deposit when we made the reservation. We were told to bring cash since they don't accept credit cards for over $40. OK so I went here after reading an LA Times article about good Salvadorean food in LA. I was curious to try their parrillada which is what was featured in the article. As soon as my boyfriend and I went in, we just stood there for about a minute. The waitresses were at the bar and saw us come in but did not acknowledge us until I asked, do we seat ourselves? At that moment, a waitress said she would wipe a table off and seat us. The lack of attention from the get go was basically a preview of the rest of our time there. The waitress just came around to get our order but did nothing else, we had to ask other waitresses to refill our water. So in terms of service, this place SUCKS. The food was pretty good. The meat was juicy and the beans were great. However, the price is ridiculous for what they serve. They skimped on the carne asada and gave us the tiniest plate of beans I have ever seen in my life (no joke). Also, they only give you two tortillas for a plate that is supposed to be shared between two people. In the LA Times article and on the menu itself, the price for the parillada is $29 but when you get there, they tell you there is an extra $2 charge. The waitress claimed that they just haven't updated the menu or something...not sure how hard this is to do! Basically, I think there are a ton of other places with better food, service and prices. This is not one of my favorite new places. If you want a similar dish to the parrillada thats cheaper, there is a great place in Downey called Gloria's that serves a delicious molcajete which is less than $20 and has plenty of food that can be shared by two people. One last thing...they charge $1 if you use a credit card to pay. I am not sure why they add on these small charges, just seems silly to me. read more

My girl and I went there trying to get Pupusas last Saturday afternoon. There were no tables available at the time but the Bar was empty so we asked if we could sit there and have a few drinks while we were waiting for a table and the waitress told us that unless we were going to eat at the bar we couldn't order drinks.... Very stupid policy. (Any American restaurant you go to in LA you can have some drinks while you wait and close your tab there or move your tab to whatever table you get) We liked the place as it was our fourth time there but this threw us off, nice environment and decoration but it needs to be dusted. The speakers above the bar are rather filthy. Also waitresses need to check more on customers, they only show up to get the order, drop the food, when you ask for the Bill and to get the check. I been here a couple more times and nothing's has improved. Waitresses still neglecting customers and management doesn't seem to care. read more
