For some reason I had high hopes from this place but unfortunately I was a lil disappointed, I had a falafel bowl and falafel pita - everything just tasted so bland, not sure if it's because of sauce or something. Loved the part that they were able to accommodate our vegan request.

Soom Soom is an Israeli-Mediterranean Vegan/Vegetarian restaurant located on East 77 St. & Lexington Avenue. It's a fast & casual over the counter restaurant that provides friendly service & delicious food such as Falafels, Hummus, Shawarmas, Salads & and assortment of tasty, healthy toppings, fillings & garnishes. I personally like lots & lots of tahini sauce on my Falafel! The atmosphere is very casual but tasteful with its traditional tiled Mediterranean floors & modern wall decor.

This is hands down the best falafel I've ever had. Made fresh and fried to crispy golden perfection then stuffed into a pita with an other worldly blend of crunchy pickled veggies and flavorful herbs and sauces. 10/10 and my excuse to trek to upper east side every time. Great quick service and cute seating right next door to Butterfield Market.

I dropped in on my way from my Dr's office. I ordered the Falafel Pita w/ all the toppings. The food was decent and the service was great.

While the food is pretty good, the service, atmosphere, and price lead this to be a 4-star review. First, the food is really tasty. Everything is very mildly spiced but fresh ingredients make this taste good. The warm pita bread they serve plates with are also extremely delicious (soft and flavorful). Service is ok - staff aren't friendly, just terse. Atmosphere is also ok - not much seating and not the cleanest. Lastly, price is way overinflated from what it should be. A pita sandwich is very small and shouldn't be $13 ($16 after tax/tip). And the bowls start at $17 ($21 after tax/tip)! Both of these prices need to drop at least three dollars before it is reasonable compared to other restaurants in the surrounding area.

SERVICE - located on the upper east side - small interior with limited seating - dishes are packed for takeaway as most people opted to do that - order made fresh in front of you - no restroom available - ambiance good for a casual meal or a quick lunch MENU - custom bowls, pita wraps, and hummus platters - all vegan/vegetarian - average price ($16 per entree) FOOD - eggplant hummus (7/10): hummus topped with fried eggplant, chickpeas, tahini, and optional spicy green sauce with a side of fluffy pita bread. This could be easily shared between two people as the portion is quite generous. The hummus was the star of the show. It was creamy and light with just the right amount of bitterness from the tahini and richness of the olive oil. I did not love the fried eggplant as it was oily and lacked flavor. It was also hard to eat a large slab of eggplant on top of the hummus. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes, I liked the hummus and would want to try other toppings to confirm my rating.

The food overall is very bland and the service left a lot to be desired. I don't recommend this restaurant in a city full of great cuisine. In terms of menu items, I especially do not suggest ordering the "israeli salad". Tamam is definitely a skip in my humble opinion! Food: 1/5 Price: 2/5 Experience: 1/5

Amazing hummus-centric fast casual bowls made with care and cheery service. I got the salad bowl with cauliflower and each bite was the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The cauliflower was hearty and flavorful, the toppings were crisp and fresh, and the hummus was the perfect amount of creaminess to mix into each bite. The portion size was the perfect amount for a reasonably healthy yet filling lunch, and came out to be $16.50 after tax. I got my order to-go, but there are two high tables by the window for dine-in. My meal was so delicious and filling. I can't wait to come back again!

So in the Lenox Hill Hospital area and hungry but not famished. Check Yelp for what's in the area by rating and up pops Tamam Falafel. Never heard of them and had noticed another falafel spot nearby but this rating made it a must stop. Got a side of humus & pita and both AMAZING. The place is clean, simple & tiny with a two top, a high table with seating for 4 & a counter with seating for 2. The staff is friendly & solicitous I will return!

probably the best falafel I have had in NYC. I also love the hummus here. The way they layer the pitas putting salads then falafel then salad again is what really gets you that flavor bomb!

I was so lucky to find this spot while in the area! Seriously fresh, and SERIOUSLY flavorful. I love the simplicity, but also the deliciousness. Staff was so nice, and had good energy. They have outdoor seating, and indoor seating. Outside wasn't too hot. Great find on Yelp!

I first went to Hummus Kitchen at their UES location, but this one is equally wonderful. The space is on the smaller side (a bit narrow) and they have indoor seating for around 20-25 people. I recommend making a reservation in advance. The servers are friendly, attentive and the food comes out fairly quickly. As the name implies, the hummus here is excellent as is the thick pita it comes with (they have regular and whole wheat). If you haven't been before, get "the hummus kitchen" as it has 4 different types of hummus you can try. The mazze are also tasty, my favorite would have to be the grape leaves, but the falafel, cauliflower and babaghanoush are also extremely delicious (you can order any 3 for $28 and it comes with pita). For entrees, I highly highly recommend the chicken shawarma tacos (2 per serving) followed by the open arais tacos (also 2 per serving) and the Mediterranean red chicken (in that order). If you don't go with the shawarma tacos or want less bread, then the shawarma platter is also a good choice. The chicken shawarma tacos here are simply incredible, they serve them in their warm fluffy pita, sliced in half, open and fill the inside with chicken, onions and whatever else makes is so ridiculously addictive. This thing is bursting with flavor, it has to be the best chicken shawarma I have had in NYC. The tacos also come with a small side of hummus and babaghanoush along with pickles and some tomato salad. The portions are what you would expect as are the prices. Really a delicious spot if you are in the area or want a great/quick meal before or after a show.
