I took a chance on this place when my normal spot didn't have any openings for two days. I feel bad for writing a bad review when the girl who helped me was so nice but my manicure was rough. To begin with, Covid safety rating would be low. She used an already used nail file on me. Non sterilized tools as well. The manicure itself is just okay. There are a bunch of particles from the air that got caught under my polish. So it just looks a mess, also the filing job wasn't great so around the edges of my nail it's rough. What really made me upset was I asked to not cut my cuticles. She said she understood and that she doesn't cut hers either. She proceeded to ask me if she could cut one small section, I agreed but then she tried to sneakily cut other fingers cuticles as well. I literally told you I didn't want that done so why do it!?!?!? I would just rather wait for my normal place to have a spot open up. read more

Literally the worst manicure I've ever had. Came in to rejuvenate my hands after a long week. They charged $18 for mani /buff and there was no washing involved. They just put lotion on. I had to ask them to clean under my nails before leaving. It shocking this place is even open. read more

Went for what I expected to be a standard European facial, and left disappointed. There was no steam used--at all--even prior to extractions. Cold scratchy towels and dry tissues were used to remove product. There was no neck, shoulder or hand massage as would typically be the case for this kind of service (ONE of these things, at least, are present in any facial of this kind I've ever had). Paid $80 plus tip, lasted less than 45m. Had really hoped to find a great spot closer to home, but it looks like I'm better off trekking to Bay Ridge to a spot that does an actual Euro facial, body scrub & wrap and sauna session for the same price. read more

Wow, I now know what a perfect manicure is in New York! Moved here a few months ago and have been to my share of subpar nail salons that do mediocre work at best. I was in the neighborhood and stopped by Soon's salon and spa and am so glad that I did. I had one of the best manicures ever! The gel manicure was perfect, natural looking, not thick, not a drop of polish near the skin, or build up of polish around the cuticles. I was so so impressed with the job that the young lady did. I don't write negative reviews, but needed to make an exception in this case. I came here with my friend today. We were the only patrons at the time. Everything was fine until I went to dry my nails. I had been at the dryer for less than ten minutes talking very quietly with my friend. Soon walked over and said, "Are you going to keep talking, or are you dry?" I thought she was joking, but then she forcefully grabbed my hands and added, "You're dry, time to leave" and literally opened the door and ushered us out. I looked at my friend and we realized we had been kicked out of the nail salon. We immediately regretted our generous cash tip. I asked if I had been talking loudly, but we were very quiet. This is what happens when you cheat on your nail salon. You get a terrible pedicure! So...I decided out of convenience to try this salon for a pedicure and what a mistake. There is a sign that says 10% off if you pay in cash. The woman who I assume was the owner explained to me that the pedicure is $28 and the 10% is the tax. WHAT?!? Just a simple scam but more importantly is the quality of the pedicure which was just terrible. The technician rushed through the pedicure without tending to the basics like cutting cuticles and polishing only on the toe nails. I could have done a better job myself. As a original Brooklynite I will stay with my neighborhood salon and not one that can scam newcomers to the trendy neighborhoods. read more

Although the technician was very nice, for $30 I could've filed my own nails and bought several bottles of polish. Didn't do any smoothing of my feet at all , just applied a bunch of creams & lotions. Also the polish or dry coat must've been cheap because it was chipped an hour later. read more

I had a rather nice manicure my first time here about 2 months ago. Which is why I went back today for a mani, pedi and eyebrow wax. I left after the pedicure, by far the worst I've ever had! I wasn't there to get a new polish, just a cuticle trim and heel scrub. I asked the attendant NOT to cut the sides of my toenails (because I'm susceptible to ingrown nails). She nodded that she understood, then cut them anyway. There were no hot towels, the scrub was short and mediocre and there was nail polish still on my toenails when I left. The $28 for this regular pedicure was a total RIP-OFF. The manager made no attempt to address my dissatisfaction (afterall, I had walked in as a previously happy customer). I'm returning to my favorite salons on Church Ave and 7th Ave...better and kinder service for less money, and much more attractive interiors. read more

based on the reviews I thought I should try this place, and it's very close to home. I always get CND vynilux, but this is the first time I've been charged $50 extra for both the mani &pedi. At over $55 for a mani & pendi I'd hope for at least a foot massage. When I arrived there was no one there, yet they rushed through the services and I was in and out in under an hour. they did a horrible job on my cuticles and didn't do anything for my clauses. and that $10 extra I paid for the 7 day polish was a wast because it was so thick that it didn't fully dry before I went to bed 4 hours later... needless to say by the morning the polish was mess. I feel like the other reviews aren't even the same place. I will never go back to Soon's. even if they were giving away free services it's a bad deal. Oh and if you want to use a credit card it 10% more than cash. that would have pushed my mani/pedi to close to $70. I'm glad I had cash. read more

This place is so close to my apartment so I had to check in out. I've had 1 regular manicure here and 2 CND gels, and the gel manicure got me hooked. The first one lasted for 3 weeks! I went back a couple days ago for my second, and the woman was able to file my nails into a beautiful almond shape and they came out looking fantastic. Only reason why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because the price is pretty steep ($30 for a gel when I can get $25 in my hometown, and $12 for a regular mani is too much for me) and the brief complementary massages are quickly followed with asking you to pay for one. Other than that they do great work and are very nice to their customers, will def return for another gel! read more

First of all they make you pay mid manicure which is uncomfortable and Not relaxing,they take cards but told me I did not meet the minimum, so I went to the ATM and got cash after which they told me a different price which did meet the minimum and so turns out I ran to the ATM for no reason. I have been going to Soon's Spa since they opened for weekly manicures and bi-monthly pedicures. I absolutely love the staff and the owner Kelly is very kind, professional, and friendly. Yes, the pricing is not as low as other places, but it's worth it. Every tool used is clean, the ambiance and music is soothing, and my manicures last much longer than other places. Oh, and they also provide free quick dry. Pro tip: if you go M-Th before noon, a manicure/pedicure is $28 which is a great deal for the experience. The staff really takes their time with each customer - unlike some salons whose focus is getting as many customers in and out, I've never felt like they are just going through the motions. The staff is very friendly, they know me, remember my aesthetic preferences, always ask about my daughter which is super sweet. They will go the extra mile if needed - when Im in a rush towards the end of their business hours they will always accommodate / stay late / engage extra staff to get it done. Yes, it's a bit pricier than other spots in the area, but that's probably because the spa that preceded Soon in the space was epically filthy and the entire spot's been redone and all the equipment's been replaced.
