This was my second visit here as being from out of town I'm always looking for good local eats and Sophias doesn't disappoint. Food was tasty, service friendly and they kept people socially distanced. Price is reasonable and competitive, portions generous especially for the price.

Grand Blanc, a town of 8,000 residents, stands in sharp contrast to its highly publicized neighbor just 8 miles up the road...Flint, Michigan. With a median household income more than twice that of its big brother and single family homes averaging 5 times the value of those in Flint, Grand Blanc has a distinctly upscale suburban feel to it with tree lined streets and a bustling downtown. Sophia's Kitchen is tucked into a small set of storefronts just steps off this hamlet's main drag. Sophia's dining room has an open and airy floor plan with a high ceiling. Walking in at prime time for breakfast on a Sunday morning, I was pleased with the quick greeting and seating. My cup of hot coffee arrived quickly in a Sophia's mug as I looked over the menu. I ordered the Veggie Omelette substituting one large Blueberry Pancake for the toast and hash browns. I love restaurants that allow substitutions recognizing that so many these days struggle to accommodate a customer's whims. That's never an issue here at Sophia's. The most significant factor that influenced my star rating was the superb quality of the omelette. The egg was uniquely thin...like the thickness of a quarter. This thin egg wrapping was chuck full of a nice variety of perfectly sautéed veggies including 'shrooms, onions, tomatoes, green peppers and American cheese. This omelette is among the top 3 omelette a I've had in Michigan. I'm tossing Sofia the fiver.

Club sandwich with homemade kettle chips...

Standard issue American fare. We stopped in for a quick bite after finishing up an appointment with a financial planner in the area when we realized just how famished we really were. In the spirit of fiscal responsibility (you know, since we had just left the financial adviser's office), we opted for a budget-friendly meal. I've had breakfast here twice before, but not recently, and noticed that not much had changed- from the decor and menu to the service and the food quality. To be honest, it looked exactly the same. Time has changed little, if anything at all, at Sophia's Kitchen. Whether that's a good or a bad thing is open to interpretation. First things first. After we slid into our booth, my husband and I looked around and noticed that we were easily the youngest people in the joint- and I mean the youngest by probably three decades. What the heck, did we hit the early bird special or something? I didn't think so, but we were sort of between lunch and dinner, so I guess that was to blame. The atmosphere was pretty staid and bland, but the service was friendly and courteous. Personally, I think a makeover is in need, but that's just my opinion. It looked like the kind of place my grandmother would have loved. I ordered a tuna melt with American fries, while my hubby picked a tried and true old favorite that he hadn't ordered anywhere in years- a club sandwich with homemade kettle chips. To be fair, the food wasn't the most interesting in the world, but it was solid. While the meal itself wouldn't have set the world on fire, it tasted good and came out of the kitchen within a reasonable period of time. My tuna melt was stacked with a generous serving of albacore on some homemade bread. My fries could have been crisper. At the same time, my husband's sandwich was a typical club made with several layers of meat, cheeses, and veggies, made the way one would expect. He said he was neither overly impressed nor disappointed, so make of that what you will. I tried some of his homemade kettle chips. They were delicious. I see why our waitress recommended them! Those kettle chips are something to come back for. I wish I had ordered those instead. Sigh. Honestly, I don't think the prices have changed all that much over the years. It made for a frugal late lunch. There's nothing wrong with being fiscally responsible. I think we easily paid under $20 for the two of us, including tip. Would I come back again? Maybe, if I was in the area and didn't want to waste too much money on anything fancy. Overall, a solid, fairly unremarkable dining experience. I'd probably want to try their breakfast specials again because I remember their omelets being pretty decent.

I love this place. I come here often for breakfast. I've never had a dinner item here as I am a fan of their omelets and breakfast skillets. This place really is a gem of grand Blanc. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable. Service can take a little bit but it's worth the wait.

Great little hidden gem in grand Blanc gives you that small town warm feeling. Very fast and reasonably priced.

Better places to get breakfast. So average for so much more than a good Coney Island or family place.

Always pleased with the food and the service. Never have to wait long for food, even when we have our Men's Breakfast there.

I had the fish & chips. The fish would have been great but it was way undercooked. I am sure I will try it again.

Their donuts range in flavors from classic, to seasonal and they also have vegan options. Overall the donuts were kind of mid. They all were the same and then just piled in with toppings but nothing super unique or great about the donut itself. The coffee was good though. The girls working there were super friendly and I like how they redid the space to make it more modern in there!

They also have a logo flavor which currently is strawberry lemonade. It's where the old Starbucks used to be if you're familiar with the town. It's near the intersection of Saginaw and Grand Blanc road. In a plaza with a few other restaurants. Near the bank and other shopping options with lots of parking and also a bigger parking lot across the street within walking distance. Places to sit inside and Wi-Fi if you need to do some work. I tried the strawberry cheesecake, the coconut cream, the oreo, the peanut butter and chocolate, the strawberry lemonade, the Cherry cheesecake, the French toast, and the campfire one in the last 3 days. Yes, yes... I know that's a lot of donuts I didn't eat them all I ate only half of each. They are that good. I thought I wouldn't like the coconut cream as much as I did I'm not a big coconut cream fan but this one was so subtle it was just the right level of sweetness with just a hint of coconut and super creamy. Delish! I would recommend this place to anyone in the service always comes with a smile. Donuts are made small batch and fresh daily. And they're running the drive-thru and the counter and you always seem to get your donuts within minutes there's no long wait times in lines like other donut places in the area. I highly recommend!

Staff was super nice and didn't treat me any different cause I was working on my laptop. First I had a sazerac, and I can say with zero hesitation it was the best one I ever had. I could have drank that all night and been very happy. Next I was given a peach and vodka drink of some sort and it was also very good. Very light and refreshing and perfect for summer. Finally I wanted a Guinness Foreign, their 7% stout but she mistakenly gave me the regular Guinness. Since she already opened it I didn't make a big deal and had the regular Guinness. Next time though I am trying the big Guinness. I really enjoyed my experience and will absolutely come back again.

It has a modern, trendy and intimate vibe and was very cozy. Side note, would definitely take a date here! Our server was pleasant and brought our order fast. Prices were fair too. We decided to split a mimosa flight (all good) and then I decided to order the pecan praline French toast and it was good. I will say it was a tad bit overcooked to my liking but it was still good, and I could still appreciate the pecan flavor profile. My bestie ordered eggs Benedict with a side of bacon and I know she enjoyed both plates! We had a great time and plan to come back to try their non-brunch menu soon!

It was fairly crowded when we got there - a good indication since it was 1:00 pm on a Wednesday. a server was with us immediately and we had drinks in no time. same with placing our orders & receiving our food - fast & friendly. my brothers ham & bean soup looked delicious it was easy to tell it was homemade. my corned beef & pastrami w Swiss & Cole slaw on grilled rye - called the Detroit Shocked Sandwich - made my mouth water looking at it and was just as tasty as it looked. Plus let me tell you they do not skimp on anything You get a STACK of meat on it. It was all I could do to finish half of it. my family is originally from the Detroit area where they have some of the best delis and I can confidently say that Omega would fit right in. I haven't had a sandwich like that since going to one of the Detroit Delis that specialize so I'm over the moon after eating at Omega. It was $16.95 for my sandwich. I think that price is on point when you take a look at how much a fast food combo runs these days. You definitely get your moneys worth at Omega. Plus you get to sit back and have great service from a very friendly attentive waitstaff. My brother having been there many times also said they've tried a lot of other things on the menu and there's nothing that has disappointed them. His wife particularly enjoys their breakfast. So if you are down in Grand Blanc or even if you aren't - it's worth a little drive - stop in and give Omega a try!
