We found Sophie's Grill and Bar on whim via a web search for local eateries and decided to give it a try. The pictures of the food drew us in. Everything looked delicious - so off we went. The location is in a small area so parking is a little tricky. We went in on what seemed like a busy night for them. There was await, so we decided to sit at the bar (as it was a first come, first served) and order from the menu. We were greeted by one of the staff members and quickly alerted that they were very busy (due to being short staff) but would be to us as quick as possible. We acknowledged and let them know we were fine with the wait. This gave us time to look over the menu and decide what we wanted. There was a lot to choose from being something simple like chicken wings to having a full meal. We decided on the following: Sophie's Ginger Spritz: Made with organic ginger beer and our white Georguab semi-sweet wine, fresh fruits and soda, it may be your new favorite aperitive.Chicken Schnitzel: Pickled marinated & panko crusted. Served with mashed potatoes, mushroom Marsala sauce and red braised cabbage.Michael Jordan Burger: Beef burger with provolone cheese and crisp applewood bacon.Salmon Nikoloff: Grilled fresh salmon on a bed of sautéed fresh spinach, topped with a rich mushroom cream sauce. Served with crisp asparagus spears. As you can see in the photos, I am only showing the chicken schnitzel and drink. This is because the rest of the food came out so late we just had them box it up to go. We did wait about 10 mins to get our order entered. Then from there it was down hill with the wait time, the chicken entree came out. It wasn't piping hot as one would expect but it was good. Might have been great if it was piping hot. My guest said the drink was good - but it wasn't ginger beer more like a ginger syrup. The other entrées took about another 20 mins to come to us. When they got home and tried it, they said the food was good but would have probably been better when it was fresh and piping hot. With this, we still would like to try them again when they aren't so busy and short on staff.

My boyfriend and I dined here a few weeks ago for a date night and we were very impressed. We were both craving Eastern European food and Sophie's exceeded our expectations. The owner is from Bulgaria and has a lot of unique food and drinks on her menu. We were able to make reservations and we asked for a booth. There are lots of fresh flowers and plants decorating this restaurant. We loved the vibes and definitely felt like we were transported to a restaurant in Europe. I started with a bourbon drink called the Boulevardier with Campari and it was delicious. My boyfriend had a bourbon. We ordered the Armenian figs appetizer, and my only complaint is the bacon was barely cooked. That is on me though because I should have specified we like our bacon well done. For our entrees my boyfriend had the Balkan's wine kebab and I had the stuffed cabbage rolls. My entree was really good, but next time I'm ordering the wine kebab. The flavors were amazing! It consisted of slow roasted chicken, veggies and rice. The bartender was our server and she was wonderful. We both can't wait to return.

Visited Sophie's today for the first time for lunch - and we're so very sorry we didn't try it earlier. The food was fantastic! We had the perfect lunch for two to share: the Slovakian Paprikash - chicken, potatoes, tomatoes and lots of paprika - and the Armenian Figs - sweet Armenian baked figs, stuffed with feta cheese and wrapped in applewood bacon, baked with Asiago and balsamic glaze. (For purposes of illlustration, there's one left on the plate in this pic; it disappeared shortly after the pic was taken.) Our server, Neli, made the experience even better; she's absolutely charming! We'll definitely return!

Bottom line: Sophie's Grill and Bar served a very good meal in the Potato & Cheese Pierogi and Chicken Schnitzel menu selections I had on my visit. Nice atmosphere and good service. I am a fan! The Deets: Venturing out on a rainy Sunday, I tried Sophie's Grill and Bar off Hwy 55 in Cary. They do take reservations off Open Table but it was not needed on this day. They have a very open space, nicely done with a hint of European flavor. There is a spacious bar front and center as well with plenty of TVs to follow sports action/programs. I was seated upon entering and given the menu. Again, the menu gives an Eastern European impression with some American favorites as well. I chose to start with Potato & Cheese Pierogi with menu description "traditional eastern European fried dumplings, stuffed with cheese, boiled potatoes, butter and seasoning, served with caramelized onions." I liked these a lot, a definite crisp along the edges and tasty ingredients inside. They do appear a bit greasy/oily when they come out but taste very good. For my main choice, I went with their Chicken Schnitzel, menu described as "pickled marinated & panko crusted. Served with mushroom Marsala sauce and mashed potatoes." Again, I liked this one, the flavors were great together and the mushroom sauce made a nice addition. Service was good during my visit and I was checked on several times during my meal. I think I will be adding Sophie's Grill and Bar to my rotation, a nice surprise, I enjoyed my meal there. I'd say more along 4.5 stars here.

We walked in during a busy hour but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The place has a unique ambiance and has a lot of cute little touches. The food was delicious, it tasted authentic and home made. But they lost a star because we had to wait for the check for 30minutes and ask 3 different servers until eventually someone brought it.

He made our first dinner here feel special, taking time to explain the menu options and make commendable recommendations for my picky teenagers. The restaurant's specialties are tacos and pizza, hence the "Tazza" name. Food was great, especially the chicken alfredo and the fries. Tacos and pizza were also good, but the chicken alfredo was the best I've had in quite some time. Wonderful place to take the family for a nice casual dinner. Menu has decent prices for a family too. Love that there is a spacious outdoor dining area. The decor and vibe indoors are also wonderful.

We started with the cinnamon bun, which was housemade brioche with a vanilla sugar glaze, and honestly it could have been the whole meal. It was that good. We ordered around the table, egg scramble bowl, huevos rancheros, chicken burrito. All of it was solid. The huevos rancheros especially. Salsa roja, chorizo, queso fresco, avocado. Fresh-squeezed OJ and cava in the mimosas didn't hurt either. The food was great. Tori made it memorable. Our server, Victoria (prefers Tori) was just one of those people. She knew when to come by and when to leave us alone, which sounds simple but most people can't do it. Not performative warmth, just actual warmth. She was on top of everything without making us feel managed. We talked about her afterwards. Tori made the occasion. Thank you Tazza Kitchen Stone Creek Village at 600 Ledgestone Way, Cary NC!

We stopped by on a Sunday morning and the place was buzzing--I'm guessing many diners were coming from church. Thankfully we made a reservation because every table seemed to fill up quickly. To kick things off, we each ordered a refreshing Lone Rider wheat beer along with two appetizers. The Shoestring Okra Fries were a fun twist on a Southern classic--crispy, lightly seasoned with chili citrus seasoning, and even better dipped in the tangy lime mayo. We also shared the Artichoke Dip, which arrived bubbling hot, creamy, and perfect for spreading on the toasted bread. For brunch, we went with two very different dishes, and both were excellent. The Asparagus & Mushroom Omelet was fluffy and packed with flavor from the goat cheese and pickled onions, while the buttery biscuit with jam on the side was a nice Southern touch. The Fried Green Tomato & Bacon Benedict was the standout of the meal. Crispy fried green tomatoes, perfectly poached eggs, smoky bacon, and rich hollandaise came together beautifully without feeling overly heavy. We couldn't leave without one more treat. The Strawberry Kiwi Margarita was bright, fruity, and balanced with just enough tequila and a zesty spiced citrus rim to keep it refreshing. To finish, we shared an Affogato, the perfect ending with creamy ice cream and a shot of hot espresso. If you're planning a Sunday brunch in Cary, make a reservation--you'll be glad you did. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.

Plenty of tables and making a reservation was easy and they were accommodating. I had called in advance to make the reservation for a birthday dinner and we had a little happy birthday sign on the table as soon as got there which was a cute gesture. The menu has a bunch of different things which I really liked. And a few cocktails and mocktail options. We got a few drinks; the Apple Jack, the Mexican herbalist, cinder & citrus, and a few basic drinks. They were pretty good. For apps, we got the fried mozzarella and the ahi tuna wontons and they were both SO good. For mains, we got the lamb shank, the chicken francese (which was the best one) and the beef medallions, which was a little sweet but was fine. For dessert, we got a few. The best was the apple galette, but the Oreo cheesecake was pretty good too. Ashley was our server and she was alright. We asked for bread and she hesitated to get us some. She told us that there might not be any left but she'll check. She ended up getting us some and informed us that that was the last of all the bread at the restaurant. It was only 8 pm but it was alright, it was enough bread, I guess. Once we got drinks, we asked for some extra lime. She got us some, and once again, informed us that that was the last of the lime in the entire restaurant. Odd commentaries that were unnecessary and seemed like a fib. Every drink came with a lime, and some dishes needed lime. Didn't seem like it was even possible to be out of limes. The commentary was unnecessary and seemed like she didn't want to serve us. Even if some of the comments were true, it was unnecessary and made it Seem like the restaurant did not have enough ingredients which isn't a good look. Towards the end she was polite and more accommodating. Food was good and the vibes were nice, the service could've been better.

Wouldn't have been as bad but they never told us how long the wait would be and we were both getting hungry. There were also a good amount of flies in the restaurant. We tried to sit outside but there were a lot of flies there too. Instead we walked to the brewery where the flies seemed to leave us alone. My food was seasoned well enough and had a good flavor but it didn't really taste that fresh. Not sure if it was from the wait but I'm sure it didn't help. It seemed like the ingredients may have been sitting out a while. I don't think I'll be back which is unfortunate because I was excited to find a healthier fast food restaurant.
