This use to be Greenhaven Apartments. Once Sora took over, they did a lot of renovations and try to change the policies So I will list out the major things about the place, changes and what to look after 1. Building Structure on the outside looks a lot nicer, but we had to pay the price though in the beginning as there was limited amount of parking at night time. Unfortunately, the construction workers did damage to the walls on the inside and Sora did not fix it. We put in a couple of work orders to fix the cable wire that the workers took down and did not come back and put it back. 2. Laundry Room - They replaced the machines. You can use a credit card to pay, the card reader is terrible though as it takes a lot of swipes. Prices are not too bad though compared if you go the laundromat in the shopping center. I would recommend doing laundry on the weekdays as on the weekends, it tends to get very dirty with lots of dryer sheets and lint on the floor as the residents do not throw things inside the trashcan 3. Parking Spaces - we can finally find a spot even after night time late. We used to not find one, but now we can. But if you live in the back side it is easy to find parking spaces, but if you live in the front or middle, it is more difficult as people tend to park in the guest parking because it is closer compared to the assigned parking spots. If you live in the back the cons is you have to deal with the trains coming in the morning afternoon and night and it does shake the apartment. If you live in the middle or in the front, there is open parking spaces and assigned parking is on the outskirts, do if you have groceries or heavy items, it is difficult. They should switch the assigned parking in the middle vs the back. 4. They do have dog bags, but a lot of dog poop lying around which is not fun so you have to watch out of where you step and sometimes the neighbors can be pretty dirty as there were rats coming out on some of them on the ground floor. 5. They have security guards, but sometimes they are too busy talking on the phone and they have lights on the garbage bins now that are bright. People tend to dump a lot of things during the weekends and it can get dirty very quickly like old furniture, mattresses, but we were honorable and did craigslist or took it to the dumpster. They also have random people coming into the complex and doing some dumpster diving in the morning. 6. Prices - when we first started our rent was $1779 and after 2 years and a half later it it around $1978 for a 1 bedroom 620 sq ft home. You will pay around $100 dollars extra for water, garbage utilities. Then the electricity we spent around $30 to $50 dollars a week. So that is why the rent is lower compared to other places. 7. Staff- most of them are friendly. Amber use to work there and been really awesome and helpful. Tyrone is good as well as if you go to him he will help you out. I remembered when I lost the gate keys and mailbox keys, he told me too ask my wife to search for them and she found them where I last left them, in my shorts. But staff gets a 5 stars for sure as they did their best to help you out and they sent out the check within a month for the deposit and we ended up saving more money. 8. Bugs and spiders - if you have phobia of them, do not come here. spider webs are all over the place. Do not know where they come from, but they are there. 9. It does get dusty here as well as when I moving the apartment lots of dust and we usually vacuum and clean once a week 10. We have a patio, but they are strict on what you can put on there. We got a violation for having our recycling bags out there. We usually wash the bottles and cans, but I guess if they think it looks like trash they do not like it. That is the only thing we had there, but we ended up putting in our closets. 11. They do inspections from time to time, but for some reason they did not fix our walls that the guys made a dent in when they were doing the remodeling. They put ticket complete. 12. Renovations inside - once a tenant leaves and they have been staying for quite some time. They renovate the place. So they put in hard wood floors in the living room and the cabinets they paint white. We cleaned pretty much every week or 2 weeks, but it does get dirty quicky with lots of dust and dirt all over the place. 13. If you renew the lease for some reason staying 6 months the average rent is lower compared to 12 months, I do not know why. 14. Be prepared to pay a $240 cleaning fee which was not discussed on the lease they take it out of the deposit. They suppose to send out the check after your move out, but we shall see how long it will take. So the question is would I stay with them again? Probably not, but we ended up staying there for 2 years and a half. read more

My parents stayed here since 2013 it was Green Heaven , we love the wood floor no more worries for Vacuum , then SORA now owned by Fairfield group repainted the whole complex & sliding door replaced & windows finally or we freeze during winter time thanks to all staff specially the maintenance stawhenever u need something to be replaced or repair they are reliable to quickly fix it ... thanks to Christian Orencia for doing a great job for any repairs needed Perry G. read more

It's a very nice Apt.complex the new owner SORA remolded it like 2 yrs. ago , we moved my senior parents here for a 1 bedroom Apt. since 2013 which is so convenient & safe for them . the new replaced laundry room the machines are much better hopefully they can put a wall clock & signage ( Pls. Sora Apartments - Apartments Near Me - Union City, California

We are out almost 200$. Think twice about dealing with this place. They approve you after you pay your application fee and leave a 100$ deposit on the available apartment. Then you're left with call back phone numbers that lead to unworkable phone trees and or their elusive "real page" answering service that supplies "leasing and available options" that's answered from multiple states. I've wasted about 3 hours now trying to talk with a human and get some of our stolen money back. The apartments are very modern and up to date . The staff are very professional and friendly . Whenever I put in a work order it is completed ether right away or within 24 hours . The apartments are safe ,quiet ,and clean . I have to say my experience here has been nothing but positive . I would recommend these apartments both to singles and families . Don't lease here. I don't know where to start. The community sucks. Rude people that can't drive for their lives and feel the need to accelerate 0-30 mph in a parking lot while kids are playing around. They drive in the middle of the road but will look at you stupid when you're coming towards them and won't even move. It's a smoke free community but everyone's smoking in their porch and throwing cigarette butts down. The funny thing is that these cigarette smokers snitch on the weed smokers to cover themselves. Ooo that's one thing about this place. Snitches. Everywhere. Everyone is in your business. People like to stare. Then when you're confrontational they act like nothing was happening. Parking is awful, the ONLY night I misplaced my permit, they towed me out of my own spot. You know why? Because the towing company that works with Sora violates California LAW and INDIVIDUALLY CHECKS the permits in the cars and DOES NOT WAIT FOR A CALL LIKE THEY ARE OBLIGATED TO BECAUSE IT IS PRIVATE PROPERTY. You CANNOT tow a vehicle on private property unless it has been REPORTED. I have seen multiple times one of their tow trucks out at 2 am with some guy checking all cars with his flashlight so they can swoop in and take the car without a permit. Shame on you Morris & Suns towing, and shame on Sora for being the enabler. Trash is everywhere it's not as clean as it looks. At the same time compared to other apartments it's not that dirty. Good luck to you whenever you must speak to management. I suggest you go in person or they won't take you seriously. If you have a problem communicate it to them. Take pictures of emails. They don't answer their phone. Go in person. Tyrone can be helpful and can also be really condescending. Catch him on a good day or you might as well go f yourself. Rebecca is helpful when she wants to be. They accommodated our rent a few days one time because my roommate was pregnant and was having problems getting her leave money. That was the only time they were actually caring and helpful. My lease ended in August. I still haven't received my list of deductions or itemized list or even ONE email regarding my security deposit. Doesn't any apartment management know BY LAW, it HAS to be sent to me within 21 days?? I went to talk to them in person, they said I had depreciated the carpet 5 years worth, so my 1000$ security deposit would be taken whole. Wtf??? We stayed their one year. We have move in and move out pictures and it's total bullshit. I should take them to small claims and get double my money back. Maybe after I'm done writing this review I'll do that. Bottom line to whoever is reading, don't lease here. Plenty of better options around the area. read more

Horrible place! Things break all of the time. 3 adults on a signed lease but only 2 keys given. I am always locked out of my own home because I do not have a door key,gate key, nor a common area key. When asked they stated it was thier policy to only provide 2 keys ....yet when i spoke with the manager she stated that this is untrue and gave me a key to the apartment. It makes no sense that all 3 adults on the lease do not have keys ...yet its a 3 bedroom apartment with everyone listed as a lease holder. I had to take my son to the emergency room last week and this is why i am writing this review because I am extremely frustrated. By the time we left the ER at 3:00 am , my husband works night shift so I would not get into the gates to my own home because I do not have a gate key nor could i walk in because i don't have a common area key. This is a recipe for disaster. Parking is rediculous, the two cars that have permits still have no where to park and we have been towed sometimes twice in one month. When we have to park outside the gates we have also been towed from there. The heating system in my son's bedroom cannot be turned off, you have to literally go to the breaker to turn it on and off...not ok in a toddlers bedroom. Now the AC/heating unit in our living room isnt working. They upgraded the apartments but they have not done a great job of handling all of the structural issues because I have leakage under my kitchen sink, which is evident by the wet boxes and bottles underneath. Ive given this place so many times to redeem themselves from the poor quality of service that ive been receiving from them but I HAVE ENOUGH! Yes, they are responsive - but only acknowledged the problem and wont do anything! They just reply to your emails and complaints but wont do anything! This is the second day that my place smells like paint /thinner/removal/fumes. Yet, I requested Maintenance and they told me that they didnt smell anything. I am getting dizzy, my sons and my dog are here and we are all intoxicated with the smell and they wont do anything. Are you going to wait til someone die in your place until you take actions? Or maybe I should really take this to Court? Remember I have alot of proof. From the noise, the garbage, animal feces and now inside my place smells paint thinner fumes which you guys dont bother to take action? I want to be out of my lease NOW and I dont want to pay any penalties because this is your own fault! This is life threatening and you all dont see this as something urgent. I am really upset but the other reviews on this page. I have lived in the complex since February and love it. The tenants are messy and don't take care of the complex, but that's hardly the apartments fault! They have always answered my maintenance requests and the team always smiles at me as I walk by. Everyone at the office is helpful and kind. I was having an issue with my closet doors and went to ask the office if I had to had them in my apartment and removed them that day! The team is working really hard to create a nice community for the tenants. I have NEVER had a "surprise inspection". read more

1st of all we got this apartment in a very dirty condition raised loads of service requests to get it fixed some how managed n followed all the rules n recently we get the Christmas surprise management towed away our car that too when the tag was on passenger seat and they have car details still they towed away my car without any notice coz of that I couldn't go to my work coz my truck keys were in the car n I end up in a lose of my job for the day along with $313 for tow company n when I went to management to check why did they do that the Manager name Nancy ung was so rude n told me not to teach my job when she didn't even check the data if it's a resident car or not n top of it she ask asked me to step out I can't believe is she's there for help for our service or she hired us to live in this shit apartments when the management don't respect the resident that too after paying so much rent not worth living in such a property I am very dissatisfied disappointed n disrespected by the management even she said will towed ur car again that's totally unacceptable she threatened me I don't feel safe here anymore I definitely regretting being in this property n would definitely do not recommend it to anyone read more

Don't live here. For a "hands on" management that feels the need to enter your home every single week for "inspections", they won't answer your emails especially when it's to try and question why they are preforming so many "inspections". I feel like I might as well just keep my door unlocked while I leave the apartment because of how many strangers I'm obligated to let in due to the lease terms. Not to mention the apartment is not even in a nice neighborhood and you are going to be paying way over market value for the "amenities" which by the way are never in order. I could probably count on one hand the working washing machines in this place. By the way once your lease is up the only options are to renew at a 13 month lease at market price (which you have no way of guessing what will be) or live month to month at a super high premium. If this isn't enough to deter you, for the price of a one bedroom here you can get a 2 bedroom across the street...seriously right across the street in that yellow apartment complex!!! read more

Now Sora gets a 1 star for customer service thanks to Ms. Brandy. I called at 2:47pm and very politely informed her that there was no hot water since yesterday. Her reply was "Well, why didn't you call yesterday?!" Hmmm...then she proceeded to tell me that she just sent someone out to reset the water heater and that she had received another call about it.
