Ive been a customer here for years and years however today on fathers day i had came with a party of 9 i called before hand to confirm they said sure come we are open however when we got here we waited 1 hour to get in door, then the service by Jenny and the people taking order was horrible horrible ! We will probably find another family friendly seafood restaurant. We love the food but we dont love the attitude!

We always come here and leave absolutely stuffed after ordering Dungeness crabs, sashimi, and you ALWAYS gotta finish with the maeuntang (spicy fish soup). If you get nothing else, their spicy fish soup is insane. It may be my favorite in SoCal. They also have soju! The food is always great and we have never gotten sick in the many years we've been patrons. It can get packed on the weekends with long waits so we try to come on off hours, but hanging out by the ocean isn't the worst place to wait :) I've never understood the bad reviews for this place. I go in expecting exactly what they're giving. It is not fancy, you eat mostly with your hands and the service is hit or miss. I feel like the vibes are written on the walls but maybe some people don't get it? Seafood on the pier will always come with a price point but it's not that bad for what it is. Perhaps the concept feels foreign? Places like this are very common in Korea so it feels like home to me. Admittedly, being able to speak the same language probably makes the experience different for me. If you're an open minded diner that likes an authentic feeling experience, this is that kinda spot. Sometimes the homies and I will purposely plan and drive down from LA just to eat here so that says something to me!

I have always loved going to Redondo Beach for some delicious seafood. Lucky for me, I'm a local and have been coming with my family since childhood. The food is delicious and great quality! I definitely recommend visiting this business!

We came here based on a friend's recommendation and had a great time. The portions were huge, the food was tasty, and the service was good. Since we chose this place based on a personal recommendation I did not check Yelp beforehand so I'm surprised that the reviews seem to be very mixed. Perhaps it was the day, but we thought everything was delicious and the workers here were very prompt and nice. Of the food we got, the spicy seafood noodle soup was by far the best and was filled with a large variety of toppings.

First time coming here and being treated by my uncle and aunt. They have raved how good this place was and have been coming here since COVID, I wasn't going to pass trying it out. Parking was in the lot or on the side where the beach is. We parked in the side and paid 3.50$ for 2 hours. Then walked to the restaurant which is near the end of the first building next tot he beach. Walking in you can order with a staff and then take a seat where they will bring your drinks, utensils, plates, bibs, table cloth, and then your food. There is a sign that they are short staffed so food will take longer than usual. However, the staff have been helpful getting us refills when we asked. We ordered three crabs (34.99$/lb), kids meal chicken nuggets, two clam chowder bread bowls, three drinks, onion rings, fries, and corn. There was a ton of food and it was all very delicious. The butter unfortunately tasted a bit off, sort of like old vegetable oil (?). Therefore, I didn't enjoy the butter dip with the seafood. However, I did enjoy the crab meat as is, the clam chowder was delicious but had lots of potatoes, and the fries were just like the frozen crinkle kind but still good. The total was roughly 300$ so it was very pricey! They have an indoor restroom, it helps when your hands smell super fishy and need to wash them.

Finally had a chance to stop in, after passing by it multiple times on visits to the Redondo Beach Pier. It's a Korean seafood restaurant, with a small selection of items, focusing on live seafood. Ordered a couple of dishes to dine-in. Thought the food was OK, the service not with mandatory gratuity, with very nice ocean views. It's a fairly large restaurant, with a large range of numbers of customers at a time. When I stopped in about 1 hour after opening on a weekday for lunch, I was the second table occupied. There was one person front of house, taking care of orders and serving...so optimized for cost and knowing how many people will come during certain parts of the day. But if an unexpected surge occurs, they wouldn't be staffed for it. The set-up and size of the restaurant is definitely meant to be a formal sit-down seafood restaurant, but the owners have adjusted to the new normal, running more like a fast casual. You place and pay for your order first, and it gets delivered to your table. The cashier made sure I understood there was a mandatory 18% gratuity charge for any dine-in. I didn't have a problem with that. They do serve fresh dungess crab ($30.99 lb) and Maine Lobster ($37.99) living in on-premise tanks, but no longer have Santa Barbara prawns. They also have King Crab for $75.99/lb and Snow Crab for $39.99/lb. All of it is too rich for my blood (plus could you imagine the mandatory tip if $200+ per person), besides I knew what I wanted: plate of steamed baby octopus ($15.95) and Large Steamed Shrimp ($18.95). After paying for my order, I found a table for six, next to great view of the pacific ocean. About 15 minutes later, the same cashier came out to line my table with butcher paper, and give me a paper cup of ice water along with a really thin (any liquid would soak right thru) paper plate and plastic utensils. Five minutes after that, my dishes came. I really liked the octopus...it was just steamed with no seasoning, but the accompanying gochujang sauce was what I had hoped (wish they had given more or offered to refill). The shrimp was their take on garlic butter shrimp: headless shell-on large size shrimp...very messy to eat if you don't like to eat the shell. There was decent amount of shrimp and it was good (not mealy), though I wish the flavor was stronger. Finished my meal in 20 minutes and wanted to be on my way. It's an interesting set-up...the location, views, prices, and size of restaurant space implies it is closer to fine dining than fast casual...but the use of cheap paper plates, water cups, butcher paper, and minimal service/interaction (never came back after serving the food to check on me and barely gave me a smile as I waved when leaving) shows something else. Really wanted to love this place...

This spot holds a special place in my boyfriend's heart since he often came here with his parents for the spicy seafood soup while growing up. He's taken me here twice now, and he mentioned it used to be much busier before COVID. Most of the restaurant was empty the times that I went. This Korean-owned seafood spot has decent food but mixed service. The lady who helped us this time was nicer than the one from our previous visit, but overall, service is still just okay. We ordered the fish and chips both times, but honestly, they're nothing special. While the fish was flaky and the tartar sauce had good flavor, the breading felt too heavy, and the fries were just the standard frozen crinkle-cut kind. On the other hand, the garlic bread and clam chowder were solid choices. The spicy seafood soup, priced at $50, is definitely on the pricey side. While I appreciated the variety of seafood, it's not something I'd go out of my way for at that cost. After our meal, we strolled down the pier and shared a churro, which was a sweet way to end the night.

This experience was one of those bucket list items my boyfriend and I had to check off our list. After dreaming about indulging in fresh seafood right by the ocean, Redondo Beach Crab House was definitely a treat-yourself kind of meal. We went all out with two live Dungeness crabs - each weighing a whopping 3-4 pounds at about $35 per pound. We don't have seafood every often so this was new to us. The crabs were cooked well, making the meat very tender and sweet. As we were cracking those shells open, you could taste the fresh ocean, too. Maybe because we got to sit at the window seat and look at the ocean. The only thing we wish was that the cooks would've cleaned off the barnacles on the crab shell. I totally get why "Barnacles" was used as a bad word in Spongebob because they really were hard to look at and unpleasant to see. You'd think if you're playing $250+ for these, that cleaning the crab would be part of it. Sadly, it wasn't, so we just avoided the barnacles on it. We also ordered a small clam chowder and onion rings to share on the side, complementing the strong crab taste. The staff were super friendly, greeting us, and explaining to us how the menu worked. However, they didn't check in on us during the meal or offer more water and were not seen in sight, which is a bit of a bummer. But hey, we were too busy enjoying our feast to mind too much! If you're a seafood lover and have always wanted to experience a true coastal dining experience, this spot is great, but they should clean the barnacles off the crabs!

I've been coming here with my family since I was young. Although it's not what it used to be, it's still delicious and still our go-to spot for crab!

Honestly the reason for the 4 stars is the location of this restaurant. It's right at the heart of Redondo Beach Pier. For as long as I remember from 30+ years ago until now this restaurant has been here. When you do sit down you get an amazing view of the beach and all the beach goers which is always nice. The food was pretty good, a little on the pricy side but because of the location it was worth it. The crab is always set to market rate so it will vary every time we go. That's always my favorite thing to eat. It's low calories plus you get to use a wooden hammer to hammer away. The service is also really good. Our server came around frequently to refill our water and check in with us. Honestly if you are in the mood for steamed crab, an amazing view, and a good time, I would recommend this place. Only reason it's not a 5 star is that they are priced a little high and the place looks a little dated.

Came to walk around Redondo Beach Pier and stopped by this crab house for lunch. Ordered the Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp Plate and Fried Fish & Shrimp Plate. The garlic sauce on the shrimp plate was delectable and mouthwatering tasty. It was super satisfying and definitely a dish to try again. The fried fish and shrimp tasted fresh and cooked well. The sauces were good, but not as flavorful as the garlic sauce. Service was quick and friendly. Great view of the ocean. Restrooms were alright.

    Outside. Hard to find.

It's not cheap. MP for a live crab was $29/lb. The crabs were about 2 pounds. I ordered a pitcher of Modelo $17. They automatically add 15% tip. My lunch was $95 with tax and tip. It's worth coming here versus the outdoor Seafood market on the other side of the pier. The other place was so crowded with long lines. All the tables were filled. Someone has to find a spot and reserve it while the rest of your party orders the food. I remember the days my family used to take us kids here for crab. My Filipino parents and relatives would bring a rice cooker and their vinegar. Both places sell rice for $2. I like the Crab House because there were no lines. The views of the beach were spectacular. It's a bit more expensive but worth it. There a plenty of open tables. You have waitresses to serve you. The bathroom is clean and accessible. It's indoors so you don't feel the cold chill or hot sun. You're paying about 15% more for the amenities and convenience. As far as the seafood, I figured it's market price everywhere.

Clam chowder was yummy and thick

The ambiance was great and it was a really nice spot in front of the Pier. We sat outside since it was good weather, I didn't account for the afternoon chill though once the sunset. Good thing to keep in mind when choosing outside or inside. The inside was really pretty (saw this on my way to the restroom later) so I wish I would have chosen to sit inside. Now for the food, this was really the only let down. The guacamole and chips were started with was okay, slightly bland in flavor. I got the fish tacos, my husband got the Chipotle Pollo y Hongos (listed as a house specialty), got a taco and nacho plate for my kids off the kids menu. The rice was like a green rice, super bland and dry and this came on both of the adult plates. The red rice that came with the kids food was actually better. The refried beans tasted like something that came out of a can, dry as heck and again, bland. Fish tacos were meh, fish was fishy and the slaw it comes with did not have the flavor I am usually looking for when I think fish tacos. My husband's chicken was yummy, and I wished I had gotten that instead. Only con was the dry rice and beans it comes paired with. Maybe my biggest gripe was the food not tasting authentic at all, and this Mexican girl loves her Mexican food, or maybe I just got the wrong plates. In my experience, if the basics are wrong (rice and beans) the rest has little hope. However, I must say that Dessert was amazing, I got some kind of yummy ice cream (maybe the Helado Frito?) to blow out my birthday candle. It was the silver lining for sure :) Service was great, and they were very accommodating. I felt bad telling them I hated the food but I wanted to write an honest review for those, like myself, who rely on reviews when choosing a good dinner spot.

Look I would've given this place 3 stars, but the customer service and wait time was ridiculous. Hear me out, this is my experience from last Saturday. So first it can be challenging to find this place, since the pier has so many level to it. Look for the elevators. When you get there, for the first time, you see a main line, well for what? Then you see other lines, well for what? Then you see an oyster line, oh. In order to determine what each line is for, you have to do independent research. From whom? Well the employee, who do not show case any form of customer service. There were so many people lost and confused. To break it down, each "Order Here" has their own area of what can be ordered by the pound and/or cooked. So not all lines are equal. There is a crab line, seafood boil/pre-seasoned seafood, oyster, clams, I think I saw fish and fried platters, which was the longest. So after much deliberation, an employee managed to wrangle the customers to form a line. Although his mannerism seems like I'm just done with this place. One might consider ropes to further avoid these mundane confusions... I got Ana's seafood boil mix, $99. It came with a lobster, dungeoness crab, peeled shrimp, clams, sausage and potatoes. The employee told me about 10 mins. I'm like okaaaay, only 10? I walked to their souvenir shop, nothing crazy or must haves. Just cheap Chinese things with their name printed on. I return in 10 minutes. The guy doing prepping/expediting the pick order was in a frantic state. Older white male, white mustache. He was running around, mixing orders up, couldn't even tell what customers had what. The employee that wrangling folks came to help him collect himself. So 10 minutes wait turns to 15, 20, then 30 minutes. I had 2 other employees check up on my order, they said it's not ready. Okay. Finally about 35 minutes it's ready. He didn't even call out my order, I had to wave my ticket. The first rule of speed of service, never over sell the time. If it's gonnabe 30 mins plus, say 40 mins, gimme a bs reason, short handed, etc, I don't care! But why would you tell me it'll be 10 mins?! So finally got the food. Flavor was pretty good. Lobster, was okay. I wished the shrimp had the head on. Clams were big. Sausage was good. Potato seemed like the diced ones from a can, they were so small. The crab, however, is the driest. Yep, for a place that exclaims "Quality Seafood," it was kind've of a let down. They taste like the bottom batch of the crab at Las Vegas buffet. You know the batch that sits on the bottom, they don't ever rotate because the employees don't care. So it's just marinating in its own dry filth. The crab was so dry I could put that in an Advil bottle instead of cotton. So now if you ask me, would I come back? Maybe, just maybe. Anytime soon? Nah, not right now. Also with the mention of a tourist trap, it's no different than Seattle's Pike Place and surroundings.

From the incredible waterfront views to the amazing food and outstanding service, it made for the perfect date night. We started with the clam chowder and crab cakes, which were both fantastic. For our entrées, we had the Linguini Del Mar and the Petite Filet (added a side of peppercorn sauce), and every single bite was delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The highlight of the evening, though, was our server, Greg. He made us feel completely at home from the moment we sat down. His recommendations were spot on, he was attentive without ever being intrusive, and when my girlfriend got a little chilly on the patio, he even brought her a blanket without us having to ask. It's those thoughtful little touches that truly elevate an experience. As the sun began setting over the marina, Alison Brecht performed live acoustic music that created the most romantic atmosphere. She even took a couple requests, including mine and my girlfriend's favorite songs. Sitting outside by the fire table, enjoying an incredible meal while listening to live music and watching the boats in the harbor, felt like something out of a movie. It was the perfect backdrop for celebrating our anniversary. Sea Level exceeded every expectation we had. Between the outstanding food, exceptional service from Greg, beautiful waterfront views, and Alison Brecht's wonderful performance, this was one of the most memorable date nights we've had. We can't wait to celebrate here again. We will most definitely be back soon and could not recommend this lovely restaurant more if you're in the area !

We had a really attentive server that cared about our needs. The front hosts was really nice and let us choose the best seating that suited us. The food is appropriately priced with a good serving size and great taste We came back and it was still amazing, the view was even better since we reserved a table. Keep up the great service! And thank you for the free dessert, the server heard that I'm leaving for marine basic training tomorrow and wanted to congratulate me.
