Avoid like the plague, unless you want to get scammed. Used to be great but now the customer service is terrible and service sucks.

We hired a Soreano plumber to check a leaky trap set up under a kitchen sink. An hour and $250 later, the absolutely incompetent "plumber" (he could not possibly have been licensed) left us with a fix that lasted exactly 18 hours. I ended up pulling and replacing the trap myself. Really a terrible experience. read more

I called to Lodge a complaint about the amount of money that was charged for a job they had to come back and redo then charged me full labor cost again. Was not happy tried to get him to come down on the price he did somewhat but not to my satisfaction. Was very rude didn't even give me enough time to tell him the sink is backing up because the job was not done properly. Will not in 1000 years use them again or recommend them to anybody. I had a terrible experience with Soreano's several years ago, resulting in a charge of 650 bucks for a simple faucet install. I avoided them like the plague for years after that negative experience, but I was recently looking for a part and Lowe's said Soreano's would likely be the only place that carried it. The man working the counter was rude, dismissive and of ZERO help. A friend of mine received similar shabby treatment, so this seems to be their modus operandi. So -- if you want to (1) pay a company far more than a job should cost and (2) be treated like an idiot, call Soreano's! read more

Like some others with high reviews here, I am surprised at the negative reviews from others, because my wife and I have had multiple encounters with Soreano's Plumbing in the past 5 years, and all have been very positive. We own a rental house in Wallingford, and in 2011 they replaced the hot water heater and also the garbage disposal in the kitchen, and we were very pleased with everything from the scheduling through to the completion of the job. We live about a mile from their office, and at least 3 times in the past 4-5 years I've had minor plumbing issues (two Moen shower valves, and one other problem I no longer remember the specifics of). I've called and described the problem, and asked them if I could do it myself, or did I need to schedule an appointment. In each case, they asked a few questions, told me how to get started, and invited me to take a few photos after I got the area exposed, and bring them in. I did so, and in each case, they described just what I should do, in language I could understand. And in all three cases, I was able to finish the project myself without any catastrophes. Only once did I need to go back, and that was to purchase a new cartridge for one of the Moen valves, that had gone bad. They were patient, courteous, and didn't belittle or demean my ignorance. Today's problem (only cold water coming from the shower head, regardless of where the valve was turned) I was able to rectify without any cost whatsoever. Today I talked at different times with both Roger and Ron (I think those were their names) and both were great. I almost didn't call today, after reading the negative experiences on this page. We have had a problem with the water pressure in our master shower and the Barber Wilson/Barwil fixture for several years. It's an import...I know...NEVER again! No one in Seattle was able to fix it after many visits, HUGE bills, calls to the manufacturer and different plumbers. A large and well-known plumbing company in Seattle recently wanted several thousand dollars to perform additional "trouble-shooting" with no guarantee of success. Mr. Soreano promised to come to our house and personally look at the problem. During our scheduled visit, the problem was fixed within hours. Pressure has never been better! Soreano's had exactly the obscure plumbing part I needed when none of the box stores did. They were even able to improvise a tool to remove the part when nobody carries the (expensive) tool. The service was quick and helpful. Their showroom is full of neat sinks, tubs, and other plumbing-related gadgets to look at. read more

I've always found Soreaon's to do good work and be very reliable. The only plumber who's ever done work on my properties is Rex and I'd highly recommend him. They're pretty pricey, but Rex does a good job. read more

Been using them for years. I know all the plumbers they send out. The have all been good. Very knowledgable. I don't think I have ever gotten a bargain price, but the work has always been very good. In fact, I have had to have them in to fix or replace work that came with the house on a number of times. What they put in always looks and works much better than what they replace. Overall these guys are great - they were knowledgeable and friendly over the phone, were able to come over in a short time frame, and got the work done efficiently when they arrived. My only complaint is that they said they'd call before coming at 1:30pm, and when I hadn't heard from them by 3pm I called. But they arrived 15 minutes after that and I'm now a happy customer. Will likely go with them again as I felt they were honest and efficient. read more

Roger was so accommodating both on the phone and in person. I am lucky enough to live near Columbia City, so this is my "neighborhood plumbing store". How many people can say they have one of those. Beautiful and well-stocked showroom. Friendly, competent service. Roger helped me with a special situation that didn't end up making the company any money, but won me over as a loyal customer. Soreano's Plumbing has great customer service. In one day I had been to four plumbing stores including Lowes and Home Depot. I am giving them five stars to show their superiority in knowledge and customer service. First, they helped me identify a part in my bathtub fixture that enabled me to just replace the part for less than $100. My plumber recommended to me to replace the fixture, which would be approximately $800. No other store that day had that level of expertise. Second, the parts had to be usually special ordered, which could take up to a week to be delivered. I called several stores and all of them didn't have what I needed in stock. They took the time to find the part and I had a working shower by the end of the day. read more

I applaud those who can take the time to write a great review,because it's so easy to complain. For anyone to expect a contractor, plumber, electrician, painter, mechanic or any tradesman to be on time, organized and finish a job when they told you they would , is living in a fantasy world. Soreano's is a family run business that is as legit and reliable as you can get,but there are never guarantees on timing, or exceeding anyone's entitlement type expectations. They have integrity and are dependable. You can rest assured a skilled plumber will show up, be honest , curtious and doesn't have a prison record. We all know plumbers are expensive, because they come to your house and rescue you from your shit show. being late is commen...big surprise. The plumber may have had an unpredictable situation at the house before you. So try to think about that person. What if the plumber said "sorry, I gotta run because I have an appointment at Mr. Entitled's house. So, your backed up toilet will have to wait". Think about others needs are as important as yours..so chill.. And another given, is a Plummer's hourly rate is expensive. Stop acting so surprised when the bill comes. I love Soreano's and respect their honesty. We have never been let down, because as owners of multiple properties, we understand the reality of most tradesman. I had originally given this plumbing outfit a great review. However, I have come to learn that they spent way too much time on the job they did for us and that we were incredibly overcharged for a diagnosis with little to no work. It's incredibly frustrating to pay over $1000 just for a diagnosis of a plumbing issue with no resolution. I will say that everybody I dealt with was incredibly professional and responsive - so no complaints there. But this outfit overcharges their customers. I have since found a plumber who is efficient, effective, and way more cost-effective so he will be my go to for any plumbing issues in the future, not Soreanos. read more

My family have been loyal Soreano's customers for years but we will not be using their services in the future. My elderly in-laws called Soreano's for help with a sink draining issue while I was out of town. Soreanos came out and simply flipped the reset switch on their garbage disposal and charged them 135$. It took about 20 seconds. I realize that charging a standard service fee to show up at a house is the norm and I have no problem with that but it seems more than reasonable for loyal regular customers to adjust the usual fee given the circumstances. A little compassion and flexibility goes a long way in maintaining neighborhood customers. I called to discuss this with them but they were inflexible and not really understanding that they could have cut my in-laws a break in the usual fee given the ease of the situation. I run my own small business so I know how thin profit margins can be but I always adjust fees to meet the situation - that's what keeps customers happy and loyal. Goodby Soreanos! read more

I called Soreano Plumbing because I had a broken kitchen water facet, I mean it blew out and of course, it was Friday afternoon when things like this happen. I could not get a plumber to come to my house that day, or even the next day, Monday was the earliest appointment. I called Soreano Plumbing after another plumber referred me to them (that impressed me). Finding out that they too were booked up for the weekend, Roger asked me what my problem was. I explained that I had a kitchen facet control lever come out of facet, it being an uncommon and unusual/complicated design that I could not fix on my own like I usually could. Roger asked me to text pictures of the facet to him. I did, he responded that if I could bring the facet assembly into their showroom he could show me how to reassemble and reinstall it. I brought it in, Roger and Ron both worked on it, and showed me how to reinstall it. The facet was manufactured by Waterstone a high end and difficult repair facet that they DON'T carry. They asked me if I had a large socket wrench to tighten a locking nut, I didn't, so they loaned me the socket wrench to do it. Are you kidding me! All the while they also called to find the distributor rep to see if they could get parts if I needed them. Are you kidding me. I offered to pay them to which they refused, they asked just to return the wrench the next time I was back in Columbia City. As I was walking out the door, shaking my head in not believing my good fortune, Roger said that if it didn't work, he'd fit me in on their schedule for Monday. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Got home, followed Roger and Ron's instructions, and it worked! It is rare now days to find a company/someone that will help out, not blow you off, which they could have very easily have done, and be generous with their time and expertise. Had a clogged sink, which I tried to fix by myself. Finally, after a day without water in the kitchen I called Soreano's. The came over the next day. The plumber recommended replacing the older galvanized shutoff valves with new ones. The plumber implied that it would not cost very much to do. The problem started when one of the old shutoffs refused to come off. He applied a lot of force and it finally gave. Later on in the repair, it turned out that he had damaged the copper connection, which cause a massive leak the spread down into the basement. This added another 45 minutes to the repair and additional materials, which he diligently added to the bill for his services. I followed up a couple of days later with Soreano's about charges incurred as a result of the damage done by their employee. They told me that according to their policy, if they broke something it must have been brittle to begin with, so the cost of the repair is on me. They never mentioned this policy when I was inquiring about their services, so I though I would bring it to the attention of my fellow yelpers. read more
