We went to this place on Sunday evening with my daughter, my grandson and my son-in-law and my beautiful wife and my wife and I shared blackened salmon which came with Vesuvio potatoes and we share a salad and we finished up with some spumoni and it had chocolate sauce on it and a cup of coffee The salmon was exceptional. It was blackened. It was very good. It was the way I like it dry, not wet and the potatoes were done well like I like them and the waitress was a lovely young lady who beckoned tour every wish and I have to say this is an easy five star restaurant a little bit pricey for my taste. The five of us with one glass of wine was over $200 and to me that seems like way too much, but it was good so if you've got the money in your wallet, you want a good meal. My husband and I went here for dinner last saturday. We love their stuffed banana pepper. The food was fine but there was an awful smell throughout the whole restaurant. We were enjoying our date night out and wanted to stay and have a couple drinks at the bar but we honestly couldn't stomach the smell. It was badddddd!! This is really a hidden gem! I had the Caesar salad with a delicious blackened salmon! The croutons were very crunchy & tasty! Hubby had the chicken parm & he really liked it! One daughter had the cheese ravioli and the other daughter had the chicken piccata. The chicken for the piccata was not breaded. It was boiled/steamed and she enjoyed it very much. The broccoli & green beans were deliciously seasoned! The risotto had a strong white wine taste, but she still enjoyed it. It was too strong for me, though. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have any decaf cappuccino; only regular. They were out of 3 chocolate desserts, which was also disappointing bc the fam are chocoholics! Lol! . Very disappointed in my meal last night. Ordered spaghetti with meat sauce. Spaghetti arrived, meat sauce was weak as it was diluted with the undrained water from the pasta. I tried to eat it but had to let the server know. She offered to take it back and bring a new serving as a takeout. Opened it today for lunch and all of the pasta had been chopped into small pieces. I had the Pappardelle pasta with their Bolognese sauce. I tender beef tips in it which were great. The pasta was like nothing I can remember and melted in my mouth. My raved about her meal and it elicited a few Mmmmm's from her. I had a Tito's Mule and she had a glass of Cab to go with it which were both good. Sorriso is our go to place and we live 32 miles away in Indiana but there is a legacy of really great food and service they have and it's displayed every trip there. Great meal! Went with a group of 4 on a Saturday evening. We were able to get a same day reservation on OpenTable. We started with cocktails and appetizers. I had a lemon drop martini which was very well done. We shared the stuffed banana peppers and the toasted ravioli which were both very good. The peppers were super unique and had a nice bite to them. I had the blackened pork chops which were delicious and the portion was huge! It came with 2 bone-in chops, a potato, and veggies. Sorriso is a good Italian restaurant located in a nondescript strip mall off Rt.30 in Frankfort, IL. Unfortunately, it kind of gets lost in the shuffle because of the all the other decent Italian restaurants within a few miles of Sorriso. If you're in area, and you're craving Italian food, there's also La Dolce Vita, Gatto's, Enrico's, Bellagio and Francesca's Fortunato. All of which are comparable to Sorriso. Don't get me wrong, most of our the food was good, and the service was above average. Sadly, for me, the price point was just a bit high for what you got. This was our first experience at Sorriso, and I was joined by my mother and father, my wife and our three children. The inside is cozy and comfortable - casual - and only seats probably 30-40 people. We had a 5:30 reservation and the place was probably 75% full throughout our meal. As mentioned, our service was good, friendly and prompt. I had the Pappardelle Bolognese which was served with beef tenderloin tips, and I gotta say, it was delicious. It was probably the only dish that was worth the $25 price tag. My mother and father both had the Orecchiette, Escarole & Sausage. This was probably the second best dish we had, and the portion was substantial, but $20?! My wife had the Blackened Chicken with Tortellini. It was okay, however it was not worth $27. The rest of the pasta dishes we had were all decent, but again, Angel Hair Pasta with Meat Sauce - without soup or salad - should not cost you $17. Cheese Ravioli with 2 Meatballs for $19?!? Listen, I know the cost of food is outrageous today, and I am certainly someone that will pay good money for good food, but unfortunately Sorriso was just a bit out of line, pride-wise. Again, the food was good and the portions were decent, but there's better options close by that offer better food for a better value. On a side note, the bill said that if we paid in cash that they would deduct the 3.99% charge they tack-on when using a credit card. We paid in cash, but the 4% didn't seem to get taken off the bill?!? At this point we had swallowed the bitter pill of paying $28 per person without any appetizers, desserts or alcohol - and again - we're not cheap, so we just decided to let it go. Went there for the first time this evening to celebrate my husband's birthday. No one is in the restaurant except us at 5 p.m. on a Tuesday. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. Ordered a bottle of wine and appetizer. The waiter reassured us he would pace our meal. The appetizer came out it seemed like moments later. The waiter asked as he set down the appetizer if we had questions about menu. We told him what we would like for entrees. We believed the meal would be paced accordingly. We are enjoying the stuffed peppers and sipping wine. Looking around and settling in for a nice dinner. A few other couples come in. 2 to be exact. Aren't we surprised that our entree arrives before we are done with the 1st pepper!! My husband was holding his appetizer plate to make room as they are setting down his entree!! Our meal from start to finish as in check on the table plates cleared took a bit less than 60 minutes! 60 minutes with a restaurant that had 5 tables and 2 wait staff. No wait for tables. Food was lukewarm and pricey. Intentionally sat slowly drinking a cup of coffee just to feel like we didn't go to an express Italian restaurant! Went here today, a party of eight, to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. I won't bore you with all of the dishes each of us had ordered, so let me just say all of us thought what we had in fact ordered was delicious, and we all had ordered a different dish. We also shared two orders of bruschetta, which was super tasty, but one order probably would have sufficed, as it was big enough for an army. Service was impeccable between our lovely server Stephanie and our young and very attentive busboy; unfortunately I didn't catch his name. Anyhow, hidden gem, and I would recommend this place to anyone. Good-sized portions, too. Oh, and forgot to mention Stephanie had even gotten my mom a free surprise birthday ice cream, as she heard me mention "the birthday girl"; a lovely gesture, as well as a very enjoyable outing had by all of us. My wife's pasta in vodka sauce was good. The bottle of Gnarleyhead Zin wasn't overpriced for a restaurant but the waitress put her hands all over the bottle top to open it, then poured it in our glass and recorked it after touching the cork. The interior and atmosphere were like eating in a cheap pub, not an Italian restaurant. When we asked our waitress questions about the menu and specials, she literally read from the menu. Somehow I was convinced the Walleye Pike was a great choice. I decided to try it since it was a special. Nope, swing and miss at a ball in the dirt. The flavor was non-existent. As a teen I could fillet a fish with less bones, so I don't expect to pick them out of my mouth every bite when I pay $20 for it. The skin left on the fillet was crispy in some areas and disgustingly soggy in others which killed any redeeming qualities the fillet might have had. In regard to non-food issues, and I know I'm getting nit picky here, but the owner seemed to circulate the tables of the regulars and was quite friendly to them yet he never came near our table. I always check Yelp reviews before heading to a new restaurant. But the posted menu pictures need to be removed. The prices are much higher than shown. Each entree averaged 9 dollars more, that's significant. So they loose a star being overpriced, especially for pasta and not having a soup or salad included. The however the food was very good. Bread was especially nice. Portion size was good and service was excellent. Worth going to if you have a bottomless budget. read more

My favorite Italian restaurant in town, hands down! Every dish my family and I have had, absolutely delicious! I'll list a few of my favorite dishes we've had. Angel hair in garlic and oil with shrimp and broccoli, linguine in the white wine clam sauce, chicken vesuvio, banana pepper appetizer, italian wedding soup, everything is very very good! We've had 90% of the menu and loved every dish! I unfortunately don't have any pictures of the food. And for dessert, you have to get the homemade tiramisu!! The drinks are outstanding too!
