I tried to dine in, but unfortunately the restaurant was extremely stuffy and hot maybe the A/C was out. There appeared to be only one server, and she was busy with another customer, so I sat myself and patiently looked over the menu while I waited. About 15 minutes later, two other patrons walked in and also seated themselves. Once the waitress became available, she went directly to the two women who had arrived after me, brought them water and menus, and began taking their order. At that point, I stood up and let her know that I had been patiently waiting and had arrived before them. She seemed confused, so I explained that I had been sitting there waiting for service. Her only response was, "Would you like to order something?" There was no apology or even acknowledgment that I had been overlooked. I decided to leave, but before doing so, I asked how long the wait for food would be and was told around 30 minutes. Overall, the experience felt very unprofessional and unwelcoming. Baby this bout to be my new spot! I had the Mac and cheese a while ago at a festival and am just now remembering to go to the actual restaurant. My mom and I popped in to give the menu a try and both of our tastebuds fell in love. Yes indeed. The yams, greens, mac and cheese and cornbread...all a 10/10. I ate some of my mom's potato salad and I never eat potato salad that wasn't prepared by my mom...soul vegetarian is winning, because that potato salad was on par with my moms. I went with a friend to try this spot while in town. Parking was free and in close proximity. It was close to closing so there were just a few people in the restaurant. I ordered Kalebone sandwich and roasted potatoes. First of all, those potatoes were fire. They were really good. The sandwich was extremely good and filling. Came by this place before and thought it sounded good (vegetarian food is hard to find!) so I dropped by today with some friends. I got the dinner combo with BBQ cauliflower + mac and cheese and sweet potatoes as my two sides. It also comes with a small salad and cornbread. My friend hyped up their mac and cheese so much and it was honestly really good - it was very nice and creamy. The BBQ cauliflower was fried and covered with BBQ sauce. It was pretty soft and easy to chew and the BBQ sauce was really nice. The salad was fine and came with some dressing I wasn't sure what it was. The sweet potatoes were also yummy and sweet. The cornbread came as a big block and was honestly a bit dry. I think this is family owned so there's not a lot of staff. It took about 40 minutes to get our food (Wednesday @ 6pm) so just make sure you allot enough time so you aren't in a rush. Only one person is taking orders and bringing the food out to you. It's also only take-out - no indoor dining, but there are some tables outside. There's not really a parking lot so count on street parking. Overall - the dinner combo was a pretty big meal for a decent price ($17). The food was all really yummy and bonus points for being all plant-based! Make sure you set aside a good amount of time since it takes a while for the food to come out because they're made fresh but definitely worth the wait. Their prices are more than fair enough, in fact they are very reasonably priced. I highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to visiting more in the future. Went in once with a bit of a larger party than just myself and another person and I called them ahead of time and they took a reservation. So many good items to try that I'd recommend on the menu. They're only doing takeout during this time. My dad and sister always go and I finally got a chance to try em out. We ordered 3 country baked steaks with collard greens and mac and cheese. It also comes with cornbread and a small side salad with what they call prince sauce. Called our order in and it was ready in about 20 minutes. Because they're doing takeout only they had the seating area blocked off. Got home and dug in. The country baked steak (vegan) was slightly salty for me but I still enjoyed the flavors. On Sunday, I went to get a plate and ended up paying $30, which was way higher than expected. They had a menu posted with more reasonable prices, so I was shocked when I got to the register and saw the total. When I asked the server about it, I learned that the higher prices were for weekend pricing, which wasn't clearly marked. To me, the food is better. At first, I ordered the Mac n Cheese with Kalebone. It's something about that piece of "meat" that makes folks comes back for more. I have been eating at Soul Veg for 30+ years. The quality has gone down and things no longer taste consistent, based on my last 2 visits. The eggless tofu salad is loose (like too much mayo/binder) and the seasoning is a little off. The "scoops" are small and they don't come in a nice mound anymore - it's more of a sloppy blob. Prince dressing seems less garlicky than in the past. Wasn't able to get carrot salad because they were out. The portions of the salads are smaller and the lettuce portion of the "salad" for the salad plate was nothing more than a tiny sprinkle of lettuce with 4 tiny thin tomato slices and 4 tiny cucumber slices. This is unique vegan food, but the value no longer really holds up with the changes in quality and the shrinking portions. Bummer. read more

I have been patronizing this restaurant for years. Unfortunately , both the food quality and physical up keep of the restaurant has gone down. The broccoli is pretty soggy and bbq twist taste like ketchup. The store frontage looks woefully out of date (would it kill the owners to put on fresh coat of paint) and the cashier is constantly eating food while serving customers. The inside of the restaurant is smaller than the other location, but it was very clean inside and out. The staff was friendly and spent time explaining the dishes that we were interested in as well as recommending other options. The only thing that I would change is the length of the wait for food. Everyone was waiting and several tables orders were either wrong or forgotten.
