Even though I'm a returning customer, I still believe in giving an honest review. One thing I've always appreciated is the customer service. I'm greeted as soon as I walk in, and I've rarely had to wait for my food unless it's peak crawfish season, football season, or they have a guest DJ performing. The staff always keeps things moving, even when they're busy. The only downside for me has been the noticeable sewer like smell inside the restaurant. It can be a little distracting and uncomfortable while you're trying to enjoy your meal, and it's something I've experienced on more than one visit. Now for the food. The charbroiled oysters are the reason I keep coming back. They're grilled to perfection every single time. The oysters stay tender and juicy never rubbery or overcooked and they're served with lightly toasted French bread and fresh lemon wedges that pair perfectly with all that buttery, seasoned goodness. The crawfish is another standout. The flavor reminds me a lot of the crawfish you'd find at the Blue Store in New Orleans iykyk. You can tell they're using more than just Old Bay because the seasoning has depth and a great balance of spices without being overwhelming. Even better, the crawfish are soaked in the seasoning instead of just being sprinkled on the shells, so every bite is flavorful from the inside out. My only disappointment this visit was the catfish po'boy. Unfortunately, the fish tasted more like whiting than catfish. While it was fried well and dressed perfectly with all the right toppings, the fish itself had a very basic flavor that mostly tasted like seasoned cornmeal. I was hoping for a true catfish fillet with more Cajun seasoning and a little more personality. Overall, Tasty Tails continues to be one of my favorite seafood spots. The charbroiled oysters and crawfish alone are worth the visit, and the friendly service keeps me coming back. If they can address the odor inside the restaurant and improve the po'boy, this place would be even harder to beat. I'd definitely recommend giving them a try, especially if you're an oyster or crawfish fan.

Unfortunately, the service was questionable. Our server had difficulty communicating in English, which led to a costly misunderstanding. When we ordered crab, she never asked what type of crab we wanted and instead assumed king crab, which is significantly more expensive than other options. As a result, our bill was much higher than expected. To make matters worse, a 20% gratuity was automatically added to the bill without it being mentioned to us beforehand. While restaurants may choose to add gratuity in certain situations, customers should be clearly informed so there are no surprises. My advice: enjoy the food, but be very specific when ordering. Confirm exactly what type of crab you're getting, verify the pricing, and check your bill carefully. Also remember that gratuity should be clearly communicated and not assumed. We originally wanted to order the K-Meal To-Go for 4-6 people, as we thought it was good value for money, but unfortunately, it wasn't available. They only had the large K-Box To-Go available, which costs around $90. We were told the K-Meals are not available on Fridays so they "don't lose money." If that's the case, then that's terrible marketing. Overall, the chicken and sides were great. We just think the sweet potato waffle fries portion should be larger for the price.
