This was my first time here and first impressions were excellent!!! The entire staff was welcoming and very knowledgeable about the menu and the company itself. I even upon their recommendations on what to order and they didn't disappoint! From Emmanuel "Manny", Georgia, Munashe, and Paige were outstanding!!! Whatever you do Cherish and appreciate these team members!! I will definitely be back just based off our interactions alone! Thank you all for the lovely experience!!

Very good. Wonderful flavors. Great service. My only criticism is that they should tell people that they drizzle mayo on top of their bowls. That was never brought up in all of the explaining they did to tell me about the food as a first timer. That was a little off-putting to see that on my meal when I'm not a fan of mayo.

The food tasted great. I saw this place online a while ago but was disappointed because there wasn't near by. Finally they open one near us and sadly I'm a little disappointed. Again, the food was great but the portions were lacking. We have gone here twice and each time I got the bulgogi and I've only gotten like 2 pieces of meat. The bowls are quite big but never seem to be filled up. The location is pretty small, a few seats on either side. Service is decent people were generally nice, I almost walked out with a few times missing but my wife's voice in my heard saying to check the bag. Missing a drink and a kids meal. The young lady who helped me kinda of dismissed me when I said something was missing "oh there wasn't another drink" I literally spoke with her a few seconds before:

So, I originally ordered pickup through their website, but due to a snow day, they were closed by the time I arrived. I reached out on Facebook to let them know their website was still open even though the restaurant was closed. From the initial message to the first text received from the Vice President was no more than an hour. He stated that there was an issue with the website and offered a visit to the restaurant and a comp meal. A few days later, I swung by, and the staff were very welcoming and made my order very quickly. I got sliced smoked turkey, pork belly bites, two jalapeño twinkies, a 1/3 cheddar smoked sausage, and Mac and cheese. The smoked turkey was juicy and delicious. I loved the flavor. The pork belly bites were my favorite ‍. They had a nice crust, and when mixed with the BBQ sauce, they were really good. The cheddarsmoked sausage was my next favorite, and I'd come back just for those! Next, the jalapeno twinkies were amazing as well. Finally, the Mac... the only disappointment on the menu for me. The creaminess was there, but the flavor wasn't, and for me, that is very important.

They are a jalapeño stuffed with brisket and cream cheese , wrapped in bacon , smoked to perfection and glazed with bbq sauce! Also amazing! I've had most of the items , and they don't disappoint! Burnt ends are my fav! The nachos are so yum! And they have a true southern corn bread here! So if you are in the mood for something comforting come to Del toro! I recommend the…read moreTex-Ethiopian platter for a thorough sampling of all the best things this restaurant offers! It includes: Smoked Doro Wat (Spicy Chicken Stew), Awaze Rib Tip Tibs, Awaze Brisket, Awaze Pork Ribs, your choice of 2 sides, Texas Toast, gluten-free teff injera, and rice pilaf! The hardest part is choosing the sides because they're all amazing, from classic BBQ sides like potato salad, fried okra, baked beans, corn, collard greens, and mac and cheese to Ethiopian sides like shiro wat (chickpea stew), misir wat (red lentil stew), tikil gomen (cabbage and carrots), and more. Even berbere-spiced mac and cheese! Berbere is an incredible blend of Ethiopian spices that is amazing on everything, savory or sweet. If it's just me eating with no one to share, I like to get the Big Ash loaded baked potato. Your choice of meat on a perfectly fluffy hot potato with plenty of butter and sour cream -- it's soooo comforting and delicious!

I expected "knock your socks off" but got very good food instead. I expected a packed dining room but at 12:30 it was almost empty. We ordered the sample plate for 2 which included ribs, brisket, rib tips, and doro wat (chicken stew) with rice, injera and we got beefy collard greens and cabbage with carrots sides. The ribs were excellent. I also really liked the chicken stew. I was surprised by the sour flavor of the injera. The thin bbq sauce was tasty while it was not sweet or full of vinegar. It was a nice alternative to traditional sauces. While we enjoyed our meal, and I would order the ribs and chicken stew again, this place is a bit too far for a repeat. But it introduced me to Ethiopian food which I can find closer to home. I love the creativity of the owners.

While we had a plan going in to ordering, we still overestimated ourselves. We wanted to get a little of a lot of things and definitely would've ordered less. (However, we're proponents of savoring and appreciating the few bites you have - which is hard to quantify when you're ordering by the pound). The pork belly was easily our favorite (a surprise for us); I liked it without the peach glaze and he liked it with. Both sides of the brisket were phenomenal and the smoke ring was thick. Ribs were delicious but by this point we were wishing we split one. The slaw I was initially feeling would be underwhelming but it perfectly cut through the grease and fat of the meat. The potato salad was Dijon forward which I usually wouldn't be a fan of but this was done with balance. The bread. Tangy and chewy and wow a big surprise on how delicious it was. We asked if we could sample the turkey (but ordering turkey wasn't part of our plan) and can honestly say it was the best turkey I've ever had at a BBQ place and they threw in a slice for us. Banana pudding. Get it. I think it's worth the wait in line for sure. Bring a snack, a drink, a book , or game to play and you'll notice the time flying by like we did. We came at noon on a gloomy Thursday morning and we were able to sit down and eat our food at 1pm. Service was quick! Staff was extremely friendly and hilarious, making the experience a good one from top to bottom. Great job, team. Barbecue was TO DIE for. Some of the best I've had in all of DFW. It's a bold claim, I know, but you've gotta go try it for yourself. Brisket was so tender and melt-in-your-mouth, the jalapeño cheddar sausage was amazing, and the sides were PHENOMENAL. Great mac and cheese. The space is clean, small, and cozy. Would love for more seating for the sake of the line, but I understand the hype and exclusivity appeal. Very southern, very mobile-home, very cool. Well done.
