Came by to try this new hot pot place. It's very comfortable seating and you help yourself to select the raw ingredients. Then you pay at the counter and you wait for them to bring it to you ready to eat. We liked laksa the best. Staff are friendly and constantly came by to check and refill napkins etc. would recommend trying as I like à la carte style so I pay by weight. Like frozen yogurt.

The waiters were very friendly, but the two cashiers, ewww, acted like customer service was the last thing they wanted to do. are you even here to work a bussiness? do you even want customers? ruined the experience also dirty toilet and no wifi

After the error was fixed & they added the noodles back into my pot

A bit of a lineup when you get there but they have a touchscreen waitlist that you can join and get a text when your table is ready. It is $3.99 per 100g at this hotpot restaurant. So many options to choose from. They had fish, crab legs, beef brisket, lamb rolls, and so much more. I love how customizable it is as you get to control how much or how little you get. I got the signature spicy broth and boy, is it spicy. If you aren't into really spicy food, I would suggest their tomato broth. I also got a milk tea for my drink. I love that you also get to make your own sauce combination and add as much cilantro and green onions as you want! I had an issue with my order as they forgot to add the noodles back into my pot after cooking them. I brought this up to one of the servers and they immediately fixed the error. The seating is a bit crowded as it is a small space, but I got a table by the window. After you finish your meal, they offer you a complimentary small ice cream cone. It was vanilla & really sweet and flavourful!

Souper is awesome! I had to wait 30 minutes for my table but it was worth it. The ingredients were super fresh and the soup base (budae jigae) was delicious. There are so many seafood options, fishballs, noodles and vegetables to choose from. The sauce bar was great! Great addition to my meal. You get ice cream at the end! Super yummy.

Winters in Toronto are the best time to get hot pot and I love that this place does individual pans that include all the meats and veggies of your choice but come cooked in the broth and you don't have to worry about cooking it yourself. The lines here can be very long though, so keep that in mind. The staff are nice and the options for your hot pot are plenty. I'd go back to try the dry one next time.

Busy spot on Yonge Street fun street

We had a great time at Souper Hot Pot arriving at around 7PM on a Sunday in June, or course there was a wait list, after all this was Yonge St and any popular place will be jammed on a weekend at that time. We dropped our number there for the callback and headed out onto the street to kill some time. Just to the south of Souper across Grenville St is Hoops Sports Bar & Grill and since I was with my drinking buddy, natch we dropped in there for a pint. Things were going swimmingly at that point at the old watering hole, when my phone went off so we bottoms up and skedaddled north across the street back to Souper. Uh not so fast cow-people, there was a mix up and they said they would call us again so back out onto the street and we did a take 2 back to Hoops. I ordered us another pint, each, pushing what we should be doing on empty stomachs when suddenly my phone went off again. Since there were two, almost full, pints in front of us, and we were more hungry than thirsty by that point, I had the job of finishing off the brew. So my recollection of Souper is a bit muddled, but I do remember the spice and the seafood, both standouts at Souper. The atmosphere was quite electric that night as well, typical of anywhere in Yonge St downtown, and we continued having a blast into the June night, with full bellies and all.

Quite the queue even before the store even opens. Many ingredients to choose from compared to big way hotpot. Would come back but have to control myself and gather fewer ingredients. Complementary ice cream as well.

I love a good DIY Malatang/hotpot spot. They've been popping up around the city and I've tried a few restaurants. Souper Hot Pot was fairly viral online, and typically there can be quite a long wait if you go during peak dining hours. Their build your own hotpot is $3.99/100g - my bowl and my boyfriend's bowl both ended up around $17-$18 each (before tax/tip), which was a reasonable price . If you get a bit greedy though, you could encounter some sticker shock as I saw a few hefty bowls ring up at over $30. Overall the variety of ingredients was very good and they also had some expensive ingredients for no additional cost, like crab legs (which I didn't get). There's also a ton of staff cleaning and refilling the stations so everything was running smoothly. Overall the malatang soup was good but not very spicy and compared to some other places it wasn't so flavourful. The dry soup was good, and comparable to other build your own shops around the city. I wish they added additional garnishes to the bowls - many other build your own bowl places add additional garnishes on the house when they cook the bowl, like cilantro and onions. Because these bowls lacked the garnishes I felt it was missing something. Overall the food was still good, and the ice cream at the end was especially delicious. It's not the best Malatang place I've been to in the city but I'd still come back if the wait isn't too long.

This place is a great malatong style restaurant. I love the selection of meat, veggies and noodles they provide. On average a meal can be around $20 pending on how hungry you are and it comes with a small ice cream cone. Everything was cooked well. Nothing over or under cooked and they have a nice selection of sauces. The only problem is there is always a wait. On a Sunday I had to wait 1 hour to get a table. Let's just say I skipped and went the next day around 3:00 and it was still full. Therefore, be prepared to wait awhile during their peak hours. I would love for them to expand. I live in Calgary would would love this in our city. I think it would do well.

came here for mala tang and tried the signature spicy broth! Found the broth super creamy and delicious and there was a huge selection of toppings and noodles available! Really enjoyed the food here and came with ice cream on top!

I went with my friends during lunch hour and it was busy but no waitlist thankfully it's build your own hotpot, you get to choose your ingredients and sauce bar as well. We all got the malatang soup and we all collectively agreed the soup was lacking flavour, tasted very watery. Not sure how I heard from my other peers who've gone that they had the same experience. The sauce bar was really saving the dish. But, they do have a huge selection to choose from and had bubble tea as well. The service was overall nice. The restaurant was quite spacious and had a few tables. There's always a wait list during dinner. They had one restroom handicap friendly, it was nice Would i come back? sure but wouldnt go out of way. The free vanilla soft serve was so good!

I would give this place six stars if I could! Located on Yonge street, this might just be one of the most popular restaurants on the road. I've come by twice and both times there was a 1hr+ wait. So, if you want to eat here, plan ahead by going early or waiting somewhere in the mean time! The inside of the restaurant is very clean, spacious, and has plenty of seating. Service is fairly quick, and they also gave aprons for my friend and I as we dined! This hot pot spot probably has the biggest assortment of items for your hot pot, including all sorts of veggies, seafood, carbs, and meats. Everything is very clean, fresh, and fully stocked. They also have a variety of different broths or dry mix that you can cook your food in as you pay. I got mine with a dry mix, while my friend got hers with the kimchi broth. Both were delicious and came out very quickly. After, they also gave complimentary ice cream. Would LOVE to come back here!

There was a huge line but all the staff tried to accommodate everyone. I was honestly surprised by the variety of food! Everything tasted fresh & was cooked perfectly. It was reasonably priced as well given the quality of food!

    Delicious drink with haw flakes!

The broth was sweet, savoury, and not overly tangy. We got it with sweet potato noodles, which had the most satisfying and addictive chew. There was already so much meat and veg in there that you really don't need to add much else. My only thing is I wish there were more sweet potato noodles to go with everything in the bowl. We added the pig trotter (because duh!), which was perfectly seasoned, tender, and had that nice gelatinous texture. Because of how big the portion was, we took the leftovers home, added more glass noodles, and was still able to get two full meals out of it the next day! The MaoCai broth was pretty spicy. We went with medium, and were breaking a sweat. The numbing heat hits fast and makes it hard to sip on the broth while eating (definitely not for the weak). Still, it had a solid ratio of meat to veg to noodles, and everything held up well with the broth. The parfaits were exactly what we needed after all that hotpot. The Citrus Garden Green Tea had a nice blend of green tea, citrus, and coconut that worked surprisingly well together. But the Brown Sugar Black Tea Parfait was our favourite. The tapioca balls were perfectly chewy and not too sweet, and the mix of black tea and grass jelly gave it such a good combo of textures. It was rhe perfect cool down. From what I hear, if you can say their tongue twister 3x in 30s you can get 50% off their new ice cream parfaits!
