Really solid omakase overall--fish was fresh, well-prepared, and the pacing of the meal felt just right. Definitely a great spot if you're looking for a more intimate sushi experience in NYC. The only downside was the "all you can eat" portion at the end--you have to preorder the three options (wagyu and two toro), which kind of defeats the purpose and makes it feel less flexible than expected. Also, it's a very small space with only one bathroom, so be prepared for a bit of a wait there. Still great meal however probably only a 1 time experience

$100 Omakase with all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-eat for A5 Wagyu, Fatty Tuna, and Lean Tuna! This place is worth it if you can eat a lot! The quality itself is pretty mediocre and there's option pieces where there's basically any meat on it. Rice leans more on the vinegar side and it is densely packed. Overall, I'm glad I tried it for the one time but I was defeated and probably wouldn't go again unless I was mega hungry.

I enjoyed the experience. You're probably pretty hungry coming to an ayce spot so I appreciated that each piece of the omakase came pretty quickly and the fish was pretty good quality! They take your order for the ayce portion 3 separate times (right before each course). I wish there was soy sauce for the ayce portion but they seemed too busy for me to make a request. Another yelper is right through, the wagyu is salty enough which was perfect for me. The vibes were casual. I had a great time here and I recommend this place

SourAji has been on my wife and Is radar for quite some time, and when we had celebratory occasion, we decided to try the experience. We were a little nervous that it would be over hyped (as seen a lot of influencers posting about it online), but it really did exceed our expectations in terms of quality and service! We ended up sitting at the second bar in the back of the restaurant, and were lucky enough to get two end seats (which were right next to the sake...). Our glasses were never empty! They offer a premium version of the sake (extra $20pp), where you can order from an additional two sakes. We didn't opt for it, but may consider it for next time. Food-wise, the nigiri really was fantastic with some of our favorites being the seabreem, himachi, and BBQ eel. It was some of the best white fish nigiri I've had in a while (I usually wouldn't pick those). Then for the AYCE portion the way it works is you can order any amount of lean tuna, then any amount of fatty tuna (otoro - which is torched), then any amount of the waygu. You only have one opportunity to order each one, so choose wisely. I ordered 10 of each, which was a bold move and definitely feeling it today... But there are def groups that order way more (I think current record for someone is like 220ish between the three!). Service-wise, we felt very well taken care of. Super friendly, welcoming, and talkative. As mentioned above, our glasses were never empty - and huge shout out to Celeste and Ryan for giving great recommendations on the sake and mochi (for dessert)! Overall, left feeling like it was a memorable experience and would do it again!

$98 for AYCE omakase and sake! 12 courses then unlimited lean tuna, toro, and wagyu. Very delicious, good quality, and worth the price! Most omakase places feel intimate and quiet, but here, you can connect and make friends with so many people. It was a very lively environment with engaging sushi chefs and good service. You start with 12 unique pieces of sushi then go into the AYCE portion. They start with lean tuna first, you ask for how many pieces you want to eat. Then you eat them and go into toro. So on and so forth. It takes the pressure off of not ordering too much. My tip: order more than you think! This place is definitely worth it for the price point. Make reservations in advance.

This was my very first Omakase experience, and I have no major complaints. Service was attentive, friendly and fast. Everyone served us with a smile! The first four courses - the Omakase itself - was wonderful. Every dish that the chef put out was absolutely delicious and presentation was on point. For the final course - the "all you can eat" sushi bit - we ordered what seemed like a mountain full of sushi and it was good to the last bite. My only complaints; 1) sitting at a table instead of the bar dilutes the experience a bit. Those who were at the bar seemed to have more of an interactive experience. 2) the plum wine which is one of two bottles offered was cloyingly sweet - too sweet for anyone at the table. Not a good pairing with the exquisite plates being served. 3) not a complaint but rather a warning; do NOT over-order when it comes to the all you can eat part. Yes it's fun to be challenged (you must eat everything you order during an allotted span of time, or else you get charged extra for every piece of sushi left behind). However, at the end of the day I left overstuffed and the delicate flavors of the Omakase courses were washed out by the mountain of rolls that we were challenged to complete. However, in the end it's a cool experience and you get your money's worth if you overindulge!

Came here by recommendation from friends! We were super excited for AYCE Wagyu. You get to eat your omakase course then choose your number of lean tuna, fatty tuna, and Wagyu one at a time just one time. Included in the AYCE was drinks and sake which we thought was nice. The concept of the restaurant is really great however we felt as though the execution was not. You have 90 minutes but you're done in about an hour they'll rush you out. The bar seating is incredibly tight almost uncomfortably tight. The food is just eh. What really threw me off was the amount of vinegar used in the rice the day we went. All we could taste was the vinegar. The fish was okay but the Wagyu was incredibly chewy which I've never experienced chewy Wagyu. The servers were nice it seems like they're trained to make people drink alcohol? Or they are just young... this is definitely not a date night place.

Omakase + AYCE + AYCD. You have to make a reservation (quite easy online), but the place is pretty small so walk-ins most likely won't be seated. I arrived promptly for my reservation at 7:00pm and everyone else who had a resy had to wait outside since the previous wave was still finishing up. I booked a 3 person at the Sushi Bar (maybe 17 seats) since there wasn't any tables open (4 tables of 2 and 1 table of 6). The omakase itself is 12 pieces and decent quality and wide range of fish, regular salmon and toro and scallop and wagyu. This part takes around 30 minutes to eat and they have a bunch of sakes for you to choose from, including one plum wine that was pretty sweet and my personal favorite. The AYCE is three rounds: tuna, toro, and wagyu. They ask you how many pieces you want only one time and then you can't go back to the previous round. It's also $10 per piece that you cannot finish, so make sure to budget well (I ate 5-5-3, but my partner had 5-10-6 and said he could have gone with 1-2 pieces less. I think the average for the AYCE section is ~20 per person). There was a lady who ordered 200 pieces of toro...I'm not sure she finished because she only had the allotted 90 minutes (but 30 had already passed for the Omakase portion), and around 8:25 the entire next wave was already waiting near and outside the door and she still had like 40 pieces. Honestly, super fun experience, the waiting staff were super friendly as well. I would definitely recommend, after tax it was roughly $130pp.

Another AYCE sushi spot! The toppings weren't as premium as others, but the fish was extremely fresh. My husband and I ate almost 30 additional pieces each, so we feel like we got our money's worth! The chefs were friendly and took the time to explain each piece of nigiri. Seating is limited since the space is a bit small, but perfect for a date night!

Finally after months of rescheduling this reservations due to life priorities I decided to take myself out on a solo date here. I arrived 10 minutes and I was at least 6 sushi pieces behind. Omakase experience was quick and rushed. The vibe and crowd except for the host and manager were standoffish compared to other omakase spots. The seating was 90 minutes we were done in about 75 minutes. There were unlimited sake, beer and tea. I ordered hot oolong tea and they forgot about my drink even after I paid the bill but at the same time ai didn't follow up. I started off with the plum wine followed by sake. I liked the idea of serving the sake on a shot glass. It was the right amount of alcohol for each serving. My top three pieces from the omakase round were the wagyu, scallop and eel. For the AYCE, there were 3 rounds: lean tuna (1st round), Toro (2nd round) and wagyu (last round). You can't go back after ordering from each round for more so there is gamble here, order a lot and if you cannot finish it there is an extra charge. The dining experience ended with dessert of choice: cookies and cream ice cream and mochi. I went with the black sesame mochi. Bathroom was very clean. If I come back them I have to go in with an empty stomach to consume more wagyu sushi.

    All you can eat Wagyu

Interesting concept when they bring you a multi course omakase experience and then you can choose between only tuna, Wagyu, or Toro for the remainder all you can eat. You have to decide how many pieces of the all you can eat at the end as they will not come back to refill any further orders. The tricky part is you will get charged if you don't finish everything. That's really a disappointing strategy. Although I'm sure they were tempted, they did not overpack the rice to fill you up. The Omakase was good, but nothing that was really unusual for creative. I thought the three types of sake was a nice touch since it was also included in the all you can eat price. The Wagyu was really inconsistent. Some pieces were so chewy that you cannot digest because of the uneven cooking but some were also very delicious. The Toro definitely was much better and consistently tasty. Of course, they did not have to torch the Toro. Although I am not a drinker, I will say the plum wine/sake was pretty good. Service was friendly, but also under staffed since they had to wait for so many tables. Definitely take a little bit longer to get your water refill or even your series of omakase. They did not seem to have much of a plan as they did not start serving the tables in any logical order. In fact, people that came late actually got served first while the rest of us had to wait. For $100 per person, I don't think it was worth the price. Much better options nearby.

We went to SourAji recently on a Friday night to try the all you can eat Omakase that we saw on social media. All in all it was a quality experience. The cuts of sushi were delicious and what you would expect for that price point. The ice cream was tasty. The space itself is compact and pretty cute. Where this place gets 3 stars instead of higher is the service and the unusual all you can eat policy. Our service wasn't terrible and fairly decent but not what you would expect from a place at this price point as the waiter didn't do a great job of explaining the omakese. As for the all you can eat policy, as others have noted, it is more of an all you can approximately eat as you get to order 1 round of any amount of sushi but no more than that so you have to make a determination of how much you can eat instead of just ordering as you go along. It should be noted that they impose a penalty for not finishing all your sushi.

One of my favorite things about myself is that when I take an L, I'm very consistent in getting my lick back. I'll do anything to get a lick back. However, one lick I have been unable to get back is Montezuma. Bro just has my NUMBER. The last 4 times I have gone to Mexico I got sick as a dog. Montezuma is getting every last bit his revenge for Hernán Cortés massacring and enslaving the Aztecs. Talk about getting a lick back... All this to say, I had a dinner planned with my girlfriend's cousin at SourAji to demolish the all you can eat omakase here. When I committed to the res 9 days prior, I had no idea I would still be in a DOGFIGHT with Montezuma... and what was I gonna do? Cancel last minute? How would that look to my girlfriend's cousin? In hindsight, I should have absolutely canceled as raw fish is the last thing I should have been eating. But hindsight is always 20/20, we need to look forward. We entered the clean Japanese interior of SourAji and were seated at the bar. One of the chefs looked at me and said "Are you the chicken guy!? I love your videos!" I wish I could have interacted with him more and gotten his name, but I was so locked in on trying to have a solid poker face. The first 14 pieces of sushi were delicious, and I got through them pretty easy. I was feeling myself. However, after the omakase course, they come around and give you 3 options for all you can eat. You get to pick however many lean tuna, fatty tuna, and wagyu nigiri you want. Anything you don't eat, you have to pay for. Big cuz leaned over to me and said "We are about to go CRAZY! How many do you think you're gonna get?" I said "probably like 3 each..." which sounded like a lot in my current state. He responded with "THREE!??! THAT'S IT!??! I thought you were a big dog..." I upped it to 6 each to which he said "THAT'S IT!?!" But 6 each, 18 total pieces of nigiri, was more than I thought I could possibly finish. I informed him I was operating at around 43% of my full strength right now. I got 6 of each, and he got 6 lean tuna, 8 fatty, and 10 wagyu nigiri. TANK. I made it through the first 12 somehow, but when those last 6 wagyu nigiri came... man. I had to look myself in the face and say "who are you as a man?" I was scarfing them down and chugging water. I picked up the last piece with my chopsticks, beads of sweat rolling down my face, and shoved it in my mouth against my will. Job finished. He said "we have to come back when you're at full strength." Absolutely we do, I'll be back to do some DAMAGE. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

The katsu was very, very moist on the inside, with a crispy batter that was so light it was almost flavorless. I honestly couldn't really tell the difference between the tenderloin and pork loin. Overall the dish had a very light flavor and I added quite a bit of sauce and wasabi. Some of the less memorable dishes were the eggplant agebitashi and truffle rice. The eggplant agebitashi tasted like a cross between an eggplant parm and a bolognese. The truffle rice had a very strong truffle flavor that ended up overpowering everything else in the dish. I thought the slices of raw button mushrooms were a little strange. I really enjoyed the sabazushi. The pieces of mackerel were thick and carried a lot of that characteristic mackerel oily flavor, but the oiliness was cut by enough vinegar to balance everything out. The niku udon was also a surprise hit. The noodles were wide, flat, super slurpy, and the broth carried a deep umami flavor. Overall, I had a pretty solid experience here.
