I had been Momoya SoHo twice and I enjoyed my brunches a lot. I really love the menu full of beautiful and satisfying sets. They were full of sushi/sashimi, seasonal pickled bites, main courses, etc. all of them were fresh and delicious. it was delightful to taste all the items in one setting. It really helps when I missed the food I had in Japan. One drawback about this place is the seatings were a little tight but I know... it is NYC lol

Honest review is that the sushi here is delicious. Came on a beautiful summer day and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I was really excited about the brunch but the matcha molten French toast wasn't anything amazing. Just a little too sweet and heavy. If you're looking for a pretty spot with good sushi, I recommend!

Got a kaisen don and eel roll to takeaway and ate it outside since it was nice. The eel roll was very small in portion for $14. It wasn't worth the price. The kaisen don lunch bowl was worth it though. A good variety of sushi. The scallops were sweet and the ikura was nicely marinated. The uni was a little metallic-y but overall decent. The shrimp and toro were good. There had freshly grated wasabi and pickled ginger x

It's been a while I have been to this area , after a long day I was hungry & craving for some sushi. So I found this one . Very cute little place with excellent customer service. I was there for lunch & asked what's the best way to try some different items. He recommended the lunch menu with 3 different kinds of rolls. It also comes with a small salad . I enjoyed everything a lot . Then I tried their green tea because I needed some caffeine. They also have the cutest restroom, lots of fun for us ladies to take snaps lol ! Price was reasonable, especially considering the area the restaurant is located in . Thank you guys for all you do, can't wait to come back to try something different.

Had dinner on a busy Friday evening at Momoya SoHo. Started with the Spicy Salmon Crispy Rice - excellent. For entrees, we had the Momoya Box, Shokadou Bento Box, Sushi Premium and the Duck Two Ways - all good with perhaps the Momoya Box standing out the most. Overall, solid sushi and creative dishes though a bit pricey, in an upscale and lively atmosphere.

    Restaurant week menu (Feb 2026)

Restaurant week in Feb 2026, $60pp for dinner. 2 courses - - appetizer, main, and dessert. I got the snow crab ohitashi, sushi moriawase, and matcha tart. I enjoyed everything. For the table, we shared a dozen Kumamoto oysters and they were $72, which is $6 per oyster.. They were good but so so small. I don't think it's worth the price. Also FYI--- if you bring a cake, they charge $5 per person for cake fee to cut and serve at the table. So be prepared for that if you're celebrating something and you bring a cake. This is prob my 5th time coming here. I usually come just for restaurant week. Decent food and nice ambiance.

Came here for brunch after seeing the beautiful brunch options on Instagram. We were seated upstairs. I got the matcha French toast and my friend got the pancakes. The French toast was decadent and flowed with a matcha lava. The pancakes were super fluffy. I think I would've preferred if they had a version of matcha pancake. They did warn us that it would take 20 min to make the brunch items, but it ended up taking closer to 40 min. Other people also tried the bento box which came with a variety of items including sashimi and tempuras and the eel donburi which came which a nice sized serving of eel.

The restaurant's atmosphere is vibrant and lively, definitely a place where reservations are a must. The staff managed the tables efficiently, even during the busy Restaurant Week lunch. We tried several dishes from the restaurant with the restaurant week menu. Appetizer- Snow Crab Ohitashi Crown Daisy, Baby Spinach Ohitashi, Snow Crab Meat Sashimi Otoshi Salmon, Kampachi, Apple, Micro Chives Main Dish Sushi Platter- Six pieces of Sushi, with a Choice of Roll Mini Omakase ($15 Supplement) Seven pieces nigiri of Toro, Akami, Kinmedai, Kampachi, Hotate, Ikura, Uni, and six pieces of rolls (toro scallions and toro takuwan) Special roll- Prime Dessert- Matcha Tart, Yuzu Strawberries, Matcha, White Chocolate Ganache, Strawberry Matcha Cookies The fish was exceptionally fresh, and the snow crab was among the best I've had in the city for this price range. After finishing our meal, we ordered a special roll since the portions weren't quite enough for my teenage child. Although it took nearly 30 minutes to arrive, the waiter apologized sincerely, and the manager kindly offered our dessert for free, and soy sauce ice cream as a gesture of goodwill. Overall, the service was excellent and made the experience very pleasant.

Amazing ambience for couples and small groups. Service is impeccable. Fried shrimp, Wagyu crispy rice and cod are must try. Eggplants was a nice change of pace. Sundae was huge and high quality. Overall highly recommend!

Wanted to branch out from my regular sushi rotation and tried out Momoya on a solo Monday night. Walked in and sat at the bar right away. Service was very nice. There's plenty of seating in here, so I think it's easy to walk in on a week day for dinner. I got the spicy tuna crispy rice and it was fantastic, so fresh and a huge portion. The pepper on top definitely had some heat. I also got the special which was a few nigiri pieces that were the chef's picks. They were fine but I felt like the rice was lacking flavor. I'd probably try sashimi or a specialty roll next time.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and got seated without any issue. The menu had mostly lunch dishes, but we did split one brunch item. Ambiance was nice, it's a long restaurant and most are next to a window which made it feel bright and clean. We shared sushi and the French toast. We did see someone else with an incredible dish in a wine glass that looked delicious, but we were told they only do a limited quantity everyday. Bummer! Food itself was fine. Nothing amazing, nothing disappointing. I wouldn't go out of my way to return, but I enjoyed the meal overall. Service was also okay, but a bit slow for water refills. Regardless, we enjoyed ourselves and had a nice meal!

A quiet, local Japanese spot in SoHo. We stopped here for lunch as we trekked around the city. We ordered a fairly hearty meal, trying the Momoya Gozen lunch set and the Sushi and Sashimi Combo. The Momoya Gozen felt like a greatest hits sampler; it has soba noodles, chawanmushi, tempura, sashimi, and wagyu. All were executed very well. The Sushi and Sashimi Combo shined. The quality of the fish was better than expected for the price point and the scallion in the yellowtail roll made for a unique and awesome flavor. Service was great; as the dishes were brought to the table, the server would go over exactly what was on the plate. I wish this was my local spot! I would happily be a repeat customer.

    Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice

The soufflé pancakes are only served during weekends at brunch, luckily they weren't super busy so I was able to walk in without a reservation and get seated immediately. Service was okay. We weren't checked in on, but at least the food was served quickly. Pancake: If you're familiar with the Japanese soufflé pancakes, you know them to be a little bit airy, these were more dense so I wouldn't really describe them as true Japanese soufflé just a bit fluffier than normal. Nevertheless, I thought it was still a good pancake and I really enjoyed the seasonal pumpkiny flavor as well as the mochi blanket. 5/5 Spicy tuna crispy rice : It's hard to go wrong with this dish and they didn't. Rice was crispy, tuna was spicy 5/5.

The slices aren't thin, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth as one usually gets in a sit down; they are extra thick, and I had to really bite down on some of the pieces. The rice was nicely seasoned and was cooked well + portions are also big to match those thiccccc salmon slices. To be honest, I was getting a little nauseated after 5 pieces, haha~ They were definitely delicious but I'd probably just eat 3 or 4 pieces and share with a friend! It was easy to text the number on the website and coordinate a pickup time, and the staff was friendly when I arrived. The restaurant is a little hard to find as the windows are blinded and the sign is a piece of paper on the door.

I've taken a lot of friends here over the course of 10 years, and without fail, every one of them has walked out mindblown--and why wouldn't they?! The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting. I am obviously biased and think they can do no wrong, but some of my staples that have stood the test of time: Kimchi cream udon, avocado tofu salad, salmon sashimi tacos, and the kani cream croquettes. I was so excited when they opened an outpost in Flushing years ago, but sadly it shuttered during COVID. It is definitely small and there is always going to be a wait, so don't be those people who come in with a huge group during prime time because they like to move (getting customers in and out) very fast.
