    Chola sandwich
    Debbie F.

First of all the staff does not know the menu! Large board menu right next to counter (see picture) has small Mac and cheese price as $5.99 yet female clerk with the mask on insisted it was $8.99! I got tired of arguing and was trying to show my granddaughters a good time so finally just ordered it. The Cobb salad was half slimy rotten lettuce. We ate inside and the Mac and salad took over 20 minutes even with an empty restaurant. Then it took another 20 minutes for the other 2 sandwiches to come! The crispy chicken sandwich was pretty good. The Cholula sandwich was a soggy mess. The sourdough bread is delicious. Very disappointing!

This is what they advertise. Wasn't even close. Wilted, sad lettuce, no Parmesan, hardly any chicken, and no Caesar dressing. Plain.

When I pulled the restaurant up to order I commented to my husband that they only had 3-1/2 stars... I thought they had more... but no problem... we ordered again. We ordered two Italian sandwiches and a Caesar Chicken salad to split. My husband arrived on time, picked up the bag, which felt light and commented, "two sandwiches and a salad right?"-- nope, only one sandwich... no problem... they threw a sandwich together and he came home. The chicken Caesar salad had lettuce, some croutons, and a small (VERY SMALL) amount of chicken. No dressing. So we had to dress it ourself, with salad dressing. Didn't have Caesar salad dressing, so it wasn't that. Really pitiful. I understand the drop in stars. Management better get their act together, because sandwich places are a dime, a dozen. You aren't special anymore.

Nasty bread, I see mold on the crust and way overpriced. My mom makes way better bread than they do.

I am vegetarian and have eaten at many vegetarian restaurants over the years. I would confidently say that Blossom and Root is the best vegetarian restaurant in the Bay Area and it may be my favorite restaurant hands down. Food: Key to a great restaurant is consistency. The food and dishes are consistently great at Blossom and Root over many visits. I have tried the Smash burger, yellow curry, Mediterranean bowl, french toast, pancakes, chilaquiles, breakfast burrito and several other dishes. Yellow curry is my hands down favorite but honestly no dish has ever disappointed. Every dish is always very freshly prepared. You can tell. They have a kids menu as well. Kids will also love the "experience" of the Butterfly bubbles drink! Just try it! Ambiance: Cute restaurant with a modern craftsmen kitchen feel. It feels like you are eating at the home of a friend with a nice house. Casual vibe that is kid friendly. Service: Servers and staff are always very friendly and helpful. Sometimes it can get slow for attention when they get busy.

It was about 1/4 cup quinoa and millet and more tangerine oranges than grains. Look at the difference of portion sizes from our experience vs Yelp photos. I felt this was inadequate and asked for more grains. I got a 1/2 cup of extra quinoa (only). Tofu scramble and pancakes (adult and kid versions) were good. The server tried to insinuate that the adult pancakes weren't enough, but they were more than enough. We also ordered one orange juice for a child (paper cup with a copper straw jammed through the opening) and hot tea. Honest review, it was overpriced and moderately good. I would not return; quality and value for 3 adults and 1 child was not worth $100+ including tip. Hope they consider my feedback to improve; this place has great potential.

I got the spicy chicken Mexicana -- not what you'd expect from an Italian spot, but they pull it off. The heat builds on you in the best way, and the pasta itself has that fresh, made-today quality that you just can't fake. The cheesy garlic bread was dangerously good -- the kind of thing you tell yourself you'll save for the end and then demolish before the entrée arrives. And the meatballs on the side? Tender, well-seasoned, and substantial. Not an afterthought. The vibe inside is casual and comfortable -- the kind of place where you actually want to linger rather than rush out. Service was warm and unhurried without being slow. This place has been doing its thing since 1992, and you can feel that quiet confidence in every dish.

The space was neat, simple, and we loved watching a big screen, showing the process of making yummy Korean sweets. They were very kind, and served us some items on the house as it was my special day! The food was also delicious. I ordered spicy beef soup, and it was very filling! Some other Korean places only have small amount of ingredients in it. Here, the bowl was filled with shredded beef and vegetables. My husband and my son ordered Bulgogi and Galbi, and both came sizzling on metal plates, ready to be eaten. We had enough left over to enjoy their food today. I am happy to find a new Korean place for us to come back again.

Before ordering, we asked if the wings could be made boneless since my dad doesn't eat chicken with bones. They told us yes, so we went ahead with that, but when the dish came out, only about 5 pieces were actually boneless. I wish they had clarified that beforehand, because I would've chosen a different dish. Flavor-wise, everything leaned much sweeter than expected. The galbi-jjim in particular was quite sweet, and even the kimchi had a noticeable sweetness that was more than I was used to at other Korean restaurants. Overall, I can see why people may like this place, but it just didn't quite hit for me.

I tried their pick up option online so I could order and pay without waiting. The app even tells when your order is ready. I decided to build my own sandwich and ordered a roast beef and turkey sandwich on Dutch crunch with everything. Picked it up to a friendly greeting and smiles from all of the staff. Took it home to eat and wow this was a huge sandwich and full of ingredients. Unfortunately I noticed quickly it was all turkey and no roast beef. They forgot my meat. I sure hope they get it right next time. I should say that even without my roast beef this was an incredible tasty sandwich. Every bite got better and better. I honestly can say I haven't had a deli sandwich as good as this in a very long time. Probably the best Dutch crunch roll ever and so soft with the perfect amount of crunch and sweetness on top. This sandwich was pure heaven and so big but I was hungry and wanted to go right back for another. Still one of the best sandwiches in the Bay Area and I'm so glad there finally in my hometown of Pleasanton. I'll be back soon and very often I guarantee! I wanted to showcase my Taiwanese heritage for the dinner and was excited that Mama Lee's was available to cater. It was hard to decide from the variety of their catering menu because so much of it reminded me of my childhood favorites. The adults enjoyed everything that was offered, and were excited to try many new dishes for the first time.
