This is a Vietnamese owned NY Style bagel shop in San Ramon. They specialize in bagel sandwiches and classic sandwiches as well. The shop is located in a plaza with several eateries, and it sits right by a courtyard with tables and chairs. There are a few tables inside as well. They are very efficient with their morning rush. I was ordering for several people, so I thought it would be more efficient to place my order online, even though it does state that their prices are 14% higher when ordering online (via Doordash). However, when I came to pick up my order, I was shocked that the online prices are WAY more than 14% higher. For example, their most popular item, the Eggwich with cheese and meat, is $8.45 online and only $6.39 in store. That's 32%. Ouch! PRO TIP: order in store if you're gonna go in to pick up anyway. So, how was the food? Actually quite good. What we got: + Eggwich with ham and cheese - bagel was soft and there was a decent amount of ham and eggs. + Eggwich with sausage and cheese on Jalapeno cheese bagel - the Jalapeno bagel was spicier than I expected. I had to pluck off a few Jalapenos, but I enjoyed the sandwich. + Pastrami sandwich on a roll - this was served on dutch crunch. Sandwich was tasty with a generous amount of pastrami and a good combination of veggies. Overall, a good bagel/sandwich shop in a great location. Their sandwiches are quite large for the low (in store) prices. Oh, they also have boba tea drinks and Vietnamese coffee. But we didn't try any of the drinks. read more

Ordered two Vietnamese coffees. One large and one small. Watched the lady make it. Turned out, she poured a little from the small cup into the large cup to have it appear a bit more and then topped the rest of the cup with ice. If they ran out of coffee, just charge me for a large coffee and say that you ran out. So I basically paid for two coffees, but in reality received only a large. I'm all for supporting local businesses, but not the ones that are dishonest. The coffee was ok at that. read more

This place has good bagels and even better Boba Tea. The service is friendly and nice at this bagel shop. And the variety of bagels you can choose from is very good too. There is so much to choose from and the best part is you can tell the bagels are freshly baked and made here. If you go here early in the morning you may be able to get them fresh and warm. When they're fresh and warm they're even better as they're so delicious especially the asiago spinach bagels, the strawberry bagels, the blueberry bagels, all of them are delicious. And again get a boba tea drink while you're at it too. The only major criticism is the pricing but that is expected as they have to keep up with inflation. I was hungry after the spa and looked up nearby brunch-y places. I got the lox bagel on jalapeño and cheese bagel (scooped out and toasted), with everything on it. The bagel was delicious, and I loved the pickle on the side. This shop is centrally located and the owners are just lovely. Great bagels! We got an avocado veggie bagel sandwich on a jalapeño cheddar bagel (it was warmed, so the cheddar was even better), and a lox bagel. These ladies were very friendly helpful and gave advice on what they liked and what was most popular. The customers are laughing with the staff and there are various drinks like fresh squeezed orange juice and concubine water offered along with boba and several cold drinks in 3 fridges. Better than Bagel Street Cafe, Noah's and Posh Bagel. I feel like a lot of bagel places don't actually make bagels the proper way, feels like it's bread in a bagel shape. (I still think Boichick bagels is the best in the East Bay) However, every time I place a pickup order it's never ready on time. Even when I show up 10-15 minutes late. I wanted a quick breakfast before my daughter's swim class and everybody else must have had the same idea cause why was it poppin like that on a Saturday at 10 AM though... sheesh! But where there is a line, especially at a place that has been around forever, I'm gonna assume it's good. First timer here so didn't really know what to expect other than they had bagel sandwiches but was really pleased to see how many bagel flavors they had, as well as cream cheese. They had a good mix of sweet and savory bagels, and flavors I've never even seen before like strawberry! They sell tubs of their cream cheese in the fridge, in various sizes, and had a good selection of flavors to choose from. I was shocked to see the unique cream cheese flavors like pineapple, sundried tomato basil, etc. The line took some time to move, and the inside is super small so it gets cramped very easily. They do have a few tables to dine in, but it doesn't seem comfortable at all, especially since you'd be crowded if there is a line. You order first, and then wait on the side to pay once your order is ready. The employees here seem really nice though, based upon my own interaction and what I witnessed for the other customers. They have a system, it's steady, just don't expect to be in and out in a jiffy. They do charge a fee to use your credit/debit cards, BOO!! but they do accept apple pay so that's always a bonus. In addition to bagels, they do have croissants for your breakfast sammies but it is an upcharge. An eggwich comes with egg, cheese and sausage, ham, or bacon. No options on the cheese, it's just good ol fake cheese but NGL I do love me some Kraft. I went with a sausage eggwich on Asiago bagel, so yummy!! The bagels are nicely toasted, so crispy on the outside while soft and fluffy on the inside. I don't even like bagels like that but this hit the spot. I feel like the sausage, egg and cheese were whatever though. Felt like cheap ingredients and fairly bland as they do not salt the eggs. I was looking for ketchup, YES I LIKE KETCHUP ON EGGS, but all they had was hella mustard :( I didn't bother to ask since they were so busy but next time I know to bring my own. Aside from breakfast sandwiches, they do have a selection of sandwiches for lunch, and a whole drink menu. I ordered the tropical sensation smoothie and it was delightful. My family has been going to Sunrise for 15 years. Sunrise was part of our Monday-Friday before school routine all through their high school years. Toasted Egg bagel with cream cheese, tomato, red onions and lettuce (4/5): Sometimes they run out of egg bagels but was able to snag the last one. Basic but good. They are always pretty busy especially in the morning but we usually don't wait more than 10-15 minutes before getting our order. Today we had a California sandwich on a garlic parm bagel, and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on a garlic parm bagel (both were very tasty and fresh but I think the cheddar jalapeño bagel is my personal favorite), we also tried the Nutella croissant which was so soft and flakey and basically melted in your mouth. Ever since Noah's NY Bagels stopped making the egg flavor I have been on the hunt! Sunrise has the closest egg tasting bagel to Noah's that I have been able to find, so for that they get 4 stars automatically lol. They are a bit heavy handed on the whip cream and since I typically stop here before work it makes it a little difficult to drive and eat (first world problems, am I right?) anyways, just ask for a light amount of regular whip cream. With that staff, you'd think a quick bagel pickup in the morning would take less than 5-10 mins but not the case. You have to plan about 20 mins from the time you walk in that door to the time you pay for your food. That's right, you pay when you get your food not when you order..... With Sunrise Bagels, I found my pastry and bagel shop! I always get the Sunrise Breakfast Sandwich, with Jalapeño Cheddar and sausage. The combo of spinach and provolone is just divine! I've also discovered another secret of this place. Their blueberry scones are among the best I've had - moist and packed full of blueberries. Not dry and crumbly like so many other places. Their chocolate croissant is also good - flakey, soft, and packed with chocolate! I'm less a fan of their cinnamon rolls.
