We were looking for a place to eat in Livery and ended up here. The restaurant is small and unassuming, but don't let that fool you. They make their own pasta, sauces, and bread in-house, which really shows in the quality of the food. I also liked that they offer some of their items frozen to take home. Service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a solid find

Great place and wonderful portions. The inside is very homey and the service is wonderful. I got myself garlic cheese bread, a drink the cashier recommended, and potato gnocchi with pink Alfredo sauce The garlic cheese bread is delicious and pairing with the gnocchi had my stomach happy. I liked the gnocchi, it was like eating savory butter with a good sauce. No complaints here, definitely coming back to try other sauces.

The Princess has just gotten a bath and we needed to re-energize. Looking for an open restaurant on a Sunday afternoon that offered outdoor seating, we found The Great Impasta on Yelp. Just the name alone tickled my fancy. We looked over the online menu and didn't like the layout but when we checked the location, we were so close, we decided to drive by and take a look. Online, we found the "Build Your Own" a bit confusing. Looking at their paper menu, it was much easier to understand. We sat outside at the back end of the tables because there was a young woman with three dogs sitting at the table at the front end. She was only sitting to use her cell phone, but we were already settled when she left so we didn't move. My partner went inside to get a paper menu and then to place our orders and pay. She came out with our drinks. A server came out later with set-ups and my bread and butter. He later returned with our entrees as well. I ordered the Seafood Plate with Prawns and Scallops in a sherry cream sauce, substituting Linguine for the Fettucine. It was absolutely delicious, better than I've received in some "fancier" restaurants. The Prawns were cooked perfectly. The Scallops were okay but would have been better if they had been pan seared first. The two slices of bread were warm, but the whipped butter came straight from a refrigerator and was hard. She enjoyed her Italian Sausage Sandwich and Pasta Salad. The salad ingredients were fresh, chilled and tangy. The garlicky marinara sauce combined with the sausage softened the bread to make for a wonderful blend of textures and flavor. We will definitely come here again when in the area.

I'm a pasta lover. A savory sauce paired with perfectly al dente pasta is a dream. I read through a ton of fantastic reviews for the Great Impasta, but was unfortunately disappointed. We came for a late lunch and sat outside with our dog. It's a super casual spot, so order at the cashier and they'll bring out your food. Each pasta dish was around $27- while the portion was sizeable, the price was pretty high for such a casual shop. The pasta itself had a great bite, but the flavors were just all over the place. The Alfredo was so bland that I wish I added salt. And the Mexicana pasta was loaded with Tabasco, so that's all it tasted like. Perhaps other flavors would have been a better hit, but neither of these tasted worth it for the price.

Very tasty pasta. Great service. Cozy ambiance on the inside, open on the outside. Located in the heart of town. Plenty of parking. Very reasonable prices. We come here often.

Although the restaurant's ambiance isn't luxurious, the quality of the food and service makes it deserving of all five stars.

While it was nice that they split the salad for us, the dish was lacking. Dressing was ok, but there was hardly any of the ingredients listed in the description. I found 1 olive and a few pieces of citrus. Overall, just average for $20! The pizza was just ok as well. The crust was a bit doughy and lacked flavor, also served warm, not hot. Then we both had pastas. The pesto gnocchi was ok, nothing stood out. The tortelloni tasted decent, the pasta itself was good but the sauce was watery and flavorless. It was a very small portion and only had 2 tiny pieces of sage. It wasn't worth $27. Then there's the 3% 'health and benefits' surcharge. Let's be real, an employee has to work an average of 30 hours a week to qualify and if there's not 50+ employees, they don't have to provide benefits. This always seems like a tip for the owners. Service is always weird here. The server rushed us at every turn, never engaging, just wanted our order. Ambiance? None. The whole vibe was off. I like a 'wow' factor when I go out to eat, there was nothing 'wow' about this experience.

The bread is outstanding, akin to a baguette with its crusty outside and plush interior. I wonder if they bake it fresh in house, what with the bread arriving steaming and hot to the touch. The oil that accompanies it is spectacular too, perfectly acidic with the balsamic vinegar contrasted by the acrid olive oil. All entrees are delicious though not the best in show by any means. For a casual restaurant though, the libations have no business being that delicious. I had an old fashioned, something of a go-to as of late. Leaves nothing to be desired. Truly just an archetype old fashioned, a symphony of bitters and whiskey. Dessert at the end was tiramisu, which was a good tiramisu. Such is expected at an Italian spot though.

Best pesto pasta i've ever had in my life!…read more I've always underestimated this spot since it never looked authentic enough for my taste, but my friends insisted I go with them one night for dinner. We ordered the vodka al forno, alfredo, and pesto mandilli. I ordered the fried spaghetti as an appetizer, a chicken Caesar salad, the Chicken Marsala for my entrée, and an espresso martini. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our server, Brittany, was friendly, personable, and took responsibility when there was a delay in service. I asked for a bowl of water for my dog as soon as we were seated, but it took about 20 minutes before it was brought to the table and our order was taken. She sincerely apologized, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, I've experienced similar delays with other servers during previous visits. I also noticed the bartender place coffee beans into an espresso martini using her bare hands. Although I didn't say anything at the time, it made me uncomfortable from a hygiene standpoint. When I ordered another drink, Brittany used a utensil to place the coffee beans into the drink, which I felt was much more appropriate. Overall, the food was outstanding, as always, and that's what keeps me coming back. I hope the restaurant improves its service times and reinforces proper food handling practices so every guest can enjoy the same great dining experience.

Come to think of it, it makes sense to have a store that offers balsamic vinegar and olive oil tastings in quaint downtown. The walls are lined with so many different flavors you can read about and sample. We stayed in the balsamic vinegar corner where there were all types of fruit flavors and had signs offering recommendations of how to use it (on salads, fruit, cocktails, even ice cream). We didn't wander to the olive oil section, but I definitely will next time. They have the following price breakdown for bottle size: Small: $8 Medium: $14 Large: $21 They also have tinier bottle sizes and gift bags which would be fun to give/receive. I believe the owner rang us up and she sealed our bottle for us to preserve freshness (it was just corked when purchased). She said to come back with the empty bottle for $1 off!

The shop ladies were so super friendly and kind. They said we could try any of the balsamic vinegar flavors mixed with sparking water if we wanted to. (But I thought these were only for salads? So wrong of me!) They have a glass jug with the sample flavor of the day already mixed with water. That was the first one I tried: Cranberry Pear. Ooh!!! It was so delicious. Not what I thought it would be. It tasted like a soda without all the sugars. It was actually quite refreshing and delightful. I asked what their top 3 flavors were: - Cranberry Pear - Peach - Sicilian Lemon I decided to try Peach. She added sparking water to it. Omg! That was even more delicious. I'm pretty sure any of these flavors will be a hit. Different flavored vinegars and olive oils adorned the walls! Each flavor has a sign with its name, what they are best used for, and what they are best paired with. I wish I could try them all but I can save that for another visit. They also sell pastas, tea towels, little bowls, and other cute things to go with their products. Also found out that Maison Benoit uses their products at their bakery.
