We have an old bathtub. It had several very tiny rust spots on one of the walls. We had it reglazed a year ago and the rust came back. I found Walt through googling, and I'd explained to him the condition of the tub and what we needed. Also complained to him that the last guy who did it guaranteed that it would last for a few years, and here we are a year later and the rust came back. Walt replied "it's because they use cheap materials". He went on and said that he applies 6 coats.. Sounds great, you'd think. We booked an appointment on 7/25, and he was prompt. He spent maybe 1.5 hours, and told me to not use it for 48 hours. We didn't use the tub for close to 3 days. A few weeks later, the rust came back, so I sent him some pictures. He offered to come back for a re-do. While he was here I asked him why would it come back so soon if he applied 6 coats and he said, it's not guaranteed and that the coatings are like as if you sprayed the paint on a car. Sure enough a week later, the rust came back again. Yesterday was 8/19, only 25 days and the rust came out again, so I texted him a picture of the rust and absolutely cricket, NO response whatsoever. We paid $550 for his service and feel really ripped off. If we were to replace the tub it would have cost about the same. What I found deceiving is that after having told him the last guy did it and the rust came back after 1 entire year, Walt dissed him by saying that he used cheap materials comparing to his materials and that he applies 6 coats. It's a scratch your head moment. I've watched many you tube videos before when these guys pour the white coating over the tub. Not so with his work, he merely sprays the white paint on. Of course, you don't find out any of this until after the work is already completed. I feel completely betrayed and ripped off. Definitely not worth $550. BEWARE!!! Bottom line is poor workmanship and materials. read more

This was my first time getting something re-glazed. I called Walt and he was very responsive, knowledgeable and flexible with the days I needed. When I called he also told me he re-caulks everything as well and we needed that badly. When we bought our condo, we were convinced we needed bathroom remodels because the grout, tile, and tubs in our shower-tubs were so nasty. We've been putting it off for 5 years and over that time the price on a remodel has doubled. I'm sorry I couldn't give a better review. We remodeled our bathrooms two years ago with new cabinets and sinks. I accidentally dropped a heavy ceramic soap dispenser and it put a dent in the porcelain sink and cracks. I contacted Southbay Bathtubs and sent pictures and he said he could fix my sink. I didn't realize that it was a very involved process that took several hours. I have two issues: 1 the finish on the sink is a very bright white and does not match the other sink in the bathroom which is less bright and goes better with the granite. He should have gone with a more matching white and there is a definite difference between the two. 2 There are a couple of small bumps in the finish that might have been from an insect... couldn't that have been dealt with? read more
