Eric should have known better than to upsell me on the full regrout if he was not confident in his work.

Originally I called him last month to regrout outdoor stairs tile. In the course of removing the…read moregrout , he said that the underlayment was water damaged and he removed 5 treads of tile to explore and possibly replace the undergarment. It was water damaged, and the risers and the treads had to be replaced. However, he "doesn't do wood "so I had to engage someone else to replace the plywood on the risers and the treads, which I did. He returned and we went jointly to Dahl tile to have me buy some Triton water board and some red guard for waterproofing. He wanted me to use a Schluter metal edge guard as opposed to replicating the original 45° mitered edge where the riser tile and the tread tile come together in a grouted joint. That design change ( which is easier on the installer) would result in a metal half inch rim /strip running across the top of all the stairs risers . I have quite a bit of this tile inside and outside my house and it's all done in that tile edge to tile edge fashion without an intervening and visible metal strip He said he's unable to adjust his tile saw to that 45 degree angle and was not gonna be able to apply the tile in the original angled edge to angled edge configuration withOUT the Schluter edge. I asked him why he's telling me after he had removed the tile and a visit to the Dahl tile that he could not install the tile in the original configuration . He became annoyed and agitated and essentially walked off from the job site at 10am with the removed tile and 5 buckets of trash and a stack of unused triton board that I had paid for (that he did not fully install ) .,,,, just sitting there on my patio I never heard from him again. I never had anybody walk off a job site like that , especially after getting that deep into the job. Maybe he is good with grout repair ... Doubt I will ever know .

At that point, half of the house had already been cleaned, leaving me to either pay the additional $600 or have the company walk away with the job unfinished. As the owner of a property management company, I found this business practice extremely concerning and unprofessional. If the scope of work was underestimated, that should have been identified before the work began, not after the customer is already committed. In my opinion, this pricing approach feels misleading and unethical. I would strongly encourage others to get all pricing and expectations in writing before hiring this company.

As a business owner its very important that the people you refer to your customers will be professional in every way. As the owner of California Reflections we install new shower enclosures in bathrooms that the customers sometimes are not going to change their stone or tile. Our stone foyer floor was pitted, cracked and looked every year of 2 decades - now it looks brand new! They also steam cleaned all of the carpets, fixed a chip in the granite countertop, cleaned the travertine in the shower and re-grouted with clear silicone. It all looks amazing. read more

I hired them to clean a furnished 2 bedroom apartment. They cleaned the areas that were not covered by furniture. They did a great job in removing all of the dirt on the carpet and around the beds. They helped us seal and color enhance some slate in our yard. It was a bit bumpy getting an appt to do the work with weather and jobs he had getting in the way. Ours was a small job but we finally made the day work and they were prompt, on time, did a great job and for the price, he quoted me. They restored the limestone and tiles in three bathrooms and a fireplace and the granite in the kitchen. George Morris was very prompt and responsive and moved other appointments around to fit me in before my house went on sale. We have used Morris Carpet & Restoration since 2011 - they have cleaned our carpets on four occasions and cleaned/re-stained grout for all tiled areas in our house. The quality of the cleaning and professionalism of the staff was very high. I received an immediate canned response that clearly wasn't based on anything I wrote or the photo I submitted. It even included a note about ignoring outreach from other companies. The next message invited me to call Joshua Diaz-Blanks, so I did. My call went to voicemail, I left a message, and I never heard back despite calling during their posted business hours on Saturday. Before they closed on Saturday, I texted Joshua. His response was that his grandmother was in the hospital and might not make it. I was sympathetic, offered prayers, and told him we could reconnect Monday or later if he needed more time. Then nothing. No follow-up, no update, no communication at all. On Monday, I walked into Banner Carpets on Artesia instead and purchased what I needed. It was a small $1,300 job, but small jobs add up and reliable service matters. This was handled very poorly, Joshua. I truly hope your grandmother recovers, and if her time is up, I wish her peace. But using a family emergency to excuse basic lack of communication is not professionalism. At some point, adulting is tough, but following through on what you promise is part of running a business. Amateur experience and extremely off-putting. One star Disclaimer: Do not call, text, email, or message me on Yelp regarding this review. I do not want further contact from this business. I also had a kitchen remodel where the flooring people allowed water to seep in and the floor was damaged a year later (but it was too late by then and I could not get it replaced). These are OTHER experiences I am comparing to so you understand HOW GOOD JAMES IS. To-date, the carpet on my stair well is still flawless (this is now years later). And the the luxury vinyl plank James recommended are still my favorite in both color and quality. There have been zero issues.
