This review is for Gelato & Espresso. Laurie was really nice. She let us know that we could sample a couple of flavors when we were having trouble deciding what we would like. The flavors can vary daily. We ended up getting a chocolate and a caramel. One scoop was just $4 and it was a generous scoop - shareable for smaller eaters. Cute little food court, which is needed since the casino overall doesn't have a lot of dining choices inside the main casino. We went for a show and hit the South End Market afterwards. Drinks from Dlights were great, we parked at a table close to the bar and then grabbed food from Bill's Diner. It's definitely not a destination, but if you are already at the casino, you'll find something to eat/drink here. read more

No complaints here. Expectations aren't high being in a casino and all. Food is surprisingly reasonably priced and good portioned too. Some people come just for the food it seems. We got burgers and fries from Billy's diner. Decent amount of portions. I like that it's a market style setting so it's easy to go with a group of friends and get whatever you like in a low key environment. read more

Great place for a quick bite. There is usually a 50% discount Sun-Thurs for 50 and over when you have an MGM rewards card ( free to get ). A young man named Troy not only gave us wonderful service while taking our order but had such a pleasant attitude and a real knack for treating the customer the way that is all too often not done these days. This is a mini market within the MGM Springfield Casino, first impressions were that it was very spacious, 4-5 different little restaurants situated around so that you could mix and match if you wanted. Went to the casino for a day and wanted to maximize play budget and south end market allows for you to use your casino comps as payment, no additional cash needed. If your looking for best bang for your buck I would say the Macho Taco is a good start. I can recommend the birria tacos, braised beef, looks like stewed beef cooked with some herbs and spices in a slightly toasted corn tortilla, did not get a huge flavor profile out of it. Birria sauce came with and great for dipping your tacos. Fish tacos were actually one of my favorites, 1 decent sized piece not over fried, pretty good golden brown. Fish tacos had a nice slaw that pairs very well with the taco. Both Came with side of fries, average nothing special and nothing to complain about. For dinner I tried Jack's Lobster Shack, went for the lobster roll, scallop basket and clam chowder. Clam chowder was pretty light, not too chunky and lumpy, good bits of clam, I would eat it again. Lobster roll I had before and was decently portioned on a toasted buttered bread, options for hot or cold, I would recommend the cold. I had cold before and wanted to try it a little different, hot version was not the way to go, a little too chewy and oddly orangey color for how and how long they warmed it up. Bread was average could see some seasoning visually , however not particularly too noticeable while eating. Scallops were also decent, not over fried in bread crumbs and was and came with a side of fries. I think I am too used to seared or grilled scallops so a little biased so was good as it was made. Service for market was minimal, attendants did not deliver your orders to table and just shouts from their counter, cleaners were pretty active clearing tables and replacing garbage cans, utensils available at each restaurant area. If your looking for budget options and don't feel like eating out or at the more moderately priced restaurants in the casino or in vicinity it does its purpose. Keep you fed to keep moving, and keep playing. read more

Rudest staff ever! I tried to exit the casino by here, only to be taken to a patio where all gates were locked, and yet the doors back inside were ALSO locked. So I went and banged on the windows, only to have several restaurant employees completely ignore me for 20 minutes. Finally I called the casino security and they had someone come by who was also incredibly rude. Don't worry, I won't be visiting your casino again so don't worry about me. I hope you all got coal in your stockings. Basic decency clearly doesnt exist here, rudest bunch of people. read more

We checked out the South End Market at MGM as my kids wanted Gelato. So I figured I'd grab a light snack of Tomato Soup at Bill's Diner. Poor decision. After waiting for my order, the soup was served in a paper container only about half-filled... and most of that was croutons. The soup wasn't terrible, but on the other hand, it wasn't great either. It looked like it came fresh from the microwave and tasted like it too. For six bucks, I could have gotten better soup anywhere else. Disappointing! I Went to Bill 's diner on October 19 Food was excellent. Just one of the busters were really mean and rude took my food before I even finished, I went to go get something else at the diner. She was just flirting and talking to my man ask for his number, but overall MGM South end market is really good to eat. Just be careful of the females' busters. I had two meals at South End Market. First was at Bill's Diner and it was a breakfast sandwich. This was not a great experience. The sandwich was overpriced. Sausage was dry on it, and the bread was cold. The egg and cheese were okay. You get better at Dunkin' Donuts or McDonalds for less money, though. The coffee also wasn't very good. The second meal was from the lobster roll place, and it was far better. The lobster roll had properly toasted bread and the lobster salad on it was 95% lobster with little mayo / filler / seasoning. However, for the price paid it was a bit small. French fries were just average. read more

Went with my wife and mom this evening, first time trying MGM Springfield. This is the cheapest place to eat in the casino. Bill's diner cheeseburger and fries was pretty good, probably worth the 9 bucks at the casino. Wicked Noodles forgot the chicken and bean sprouts in our chicken pad thai, and forgot the bean sprouts in the dan dan noodles. Though, the taste was good and the chicken was added after pointing it out. Overall may try it again in the future but low expectations. After all, they have only been open one month, might still be working out the kinks. read more

We have been to Jack's Shack for lunch twice. I really enjoy the food and think it's pretty good. We usually each get a lobster roll and clam chowder. The first time we went they had just opened, so they didn't have the sides available such as fries or onion rings. Now they are available. The amount and size of lobster in the roll is very impressive. They offer both hot and cold version. I'm definitely interested in trying the other options in the food court. read more

Tried Bill's diner. Got the sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with fries and also a Cobb salad. Excellent value for the amount and quality. Only problem was the speed of service. Wasn't that bad but should improve with time. Can't wait to try the other restaurants in this market! read more

The best part about this place is the guy that took my order. He was very nice. Went to Wicked Noodles. Service was 4 star but the food was 0 stars. I ordered lo mien with chicken. Had the lobster roll from the lobster shack . So much salt that it was inedible and I love salty food but someone obviously didn't taste this . Couldn't finish it it was that bad. Would've asked for a refund but there was a line and I had to leave the casino because I was literally sick to my stomach. Same experience at the diner on another visit. The breakfast sandwich seemed to be made with car on eggs and once again I couldn't finish it. Everything sees to be remade product. French fries were something you would get in the supermarket. Basically the food court located in the MGM Springfield. Has a few varied places, Asian, seafood, gelato, a diner type place and a wine bar. Ate at Bill's Diner for breakfast had the breakfast sandwich. Standard breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese, and bacon. Although the sandwich itself for 7 bucks is large and looks tasty, unfortunately it fails miserably. Zero taste, had to put loads of salt, and extremely greasy. The winner here for me is the wine bar. Nice selection of wines by the glass and craft beers on tap all reasonably priced. They have 3 charcuterie boards, cheese, meat, and a combo of both. We had the meat, decent portion served with pickles, nuts, and French bread for 12 dollars. There were also some sandwiches on the menu. They were allowing people to take food from the other food vendors and sit at the bar and eat. read more

I have now tried all of the restaurants at MGM and to put it bluntly they really need to improve all of them. The quality is very poor. This morning I ordered a simple breakfast sandwich and it was soaked in oil and mayonnaise. The noodle shop things are blended together and not good. I tried the bisque at the fish place and tastes like canned soup. I have a lot of comps for food at mgm and only can use it at Starbucks. The chicken at regal was even better then anything at mgm. I discovered cirros a couple blocks down the road and wow exceptional food and less cost. I truly hope that someone at mgm steps up and fixes all of the quality of food overall. I don't feel like anything makes me want to eat there again which is not good since I have a lot of food comps at mgm.sadly at Regal movies i ordered there food and it is better then anything at mgm south st market read more

Went to Bills Diner last night at about 2am. I was excited to see that they had a 24hr dining option. They have a menu board that says "breakfast all day" but we were informed not at night and that we had to eat off the "late night menu". ok not a big deal just odd. I got the burger and honestly it was not good at all. The patty was thin and horribly over cooked. Any fast food chain produces a better burger, any diner, any backyard grill, they all make a better burger. read more

The only place I've tried is Jack's Lobster Shack. My daughter and I have been to MGM several times. We don't gamble we just go there for the Kringle Candle store and the lobster rolls at Jacks. Although the lobster rolls are excellent-lots of meat with very little mayo and celery- the service there needs some help. There is only one person taking the order, cashing you out and assembling your order. It's really slow. I waited in line over 15 minutes just to place my order. There was a line of people behind me complaining about the wait. When you do finally place your order and pay you have to go around to the side and wait for it. The woman on the cash register stops taking orders and has to grab the food that slides down from the "kitchen" and add the coleslaw or whatever and then call out the order to the people waiting along the side. It's really inefficient! On another note the day I was there (it was a Saturday at lunch time) they didn't have any clam chowder. This place needs to work on its service. read more
