Housed in the old District Table building, the place is still so noisy and loud you can't hear yourself think. The menu leaves a lot to be desired and is very limited with virtually no comfort food. Instead of offering a just a normal burger, they laced the American staple with a bunch of artsy crap. However, when I asked if I could just have cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and mustard I was told they didn't have lettuce and tomato! In a restaurant...whaaat? But I was able to get diced tomato and lettuce...eventually after Stefano the waiter (in name only) brought it out after I asked for it again, and the burger had been served. For our entire stay, Stefano seemed annoyed we were there. The service was marginal at best and Stefano should perhaps seek different employment. The salad I had was good and plentiful and the burger, for all it lacked was good also. However, overall South Fork Kitchen and Bar is not worth the trip or walk for that matter to visit. read more

Horrible, horrible service, and experience. Looked forward to trying this place for the first time, live locally. We were two people. It was spontaneous, and we were really looking forward to finally getting there. The place was half empty at 8 on Saturday night. Too much of an ordeal to re-live in deserved detail... but avoid this place!! The bartender/server was curt, rude, and actually spiteful, with only 7 people seated at the bar including us, we were treated as if it was an imposition to serve us. We nicely pointed out that the Rose that we wanted for our meal was lukewarm. (it was retrieved from a storage cooler) Her response was, "That's because I just opened it." ???? She offered absolutely no assistance with the wine list, alternatives, the "normal" treatment you would expect from a wine and beer only establishment. The wine list was fairly small, but complete. Again, our first time there, and until you are familiar with the offering, there is an understandable curve. At least as we experience new restaurants. It was just a struggle from there, absolutely no interest in serving us, accommodating, or assisting us, while everyone around us was getting big pours of wine, big service, etc etc We were not even offered a glass of water, and had to ask for it. At that, we had to ask another server who was standing at the service bar. (Every other table/diners had a comp bottle of water placed at their setting, not for us) We were pushed to place our food order. The bartender never refilled our glasses of water, and became dismissive and appeared to become very rushed and disinterested, in serving us. We chose another wine that was at least chilled, the bartender/server proceeded to dump it into my glass, on top of the remnants of the lukewarm Rose. A fellow diner seated next to us, witnessed all of this, and was appalled by our treatment. We were as baffled as they were. We threw in the towel, nearly 45 minutes later, and left before our food was served. Never even had a glass of wine. My friend, upset, wanted to speak to a manager, or owner, and I said we've had enough abuse, and it won't make a bit of difference. We walked next door to one of the two, neighboring restaurants, we were warmly welcomed, and able to laugh about this nightmare experience. There are too many other wonderful choices, in Stuart. This place is definitely, not one of them. I recommend, "District" which formerly occupied this existing space. It has moved into nearby, Port Salerno. "District" is truly amazing, as is their staff, food, and all that an incredibly creative restaurant experience entails. And, they truly care. read more

We went for our wedding anniversary on a Saturday night at 6.15. We were greeted with "Happy Anniversary" and each handed a glass of Prosecco. Te food was very good and we really enjoyed the meal. Imagine our surprise when handed the bill which included a charge for the glasses of Prosecco (which we had not requested). This seems to be a very negative way to run a restaurant to which I would willingly have returned on future occasions. read more

This is my absolute favorite burger around. I order it as is, no subscriptions, and it is fantastic. The wine selection is very nice, both by the glass and by the bottle. The service is very friendly and attentive with a good atmosphere. You must get the s'mores dessert, it is worth saving room. Melt in your mouth delicious. read more

This restaurant is AMAZING! The service is wonderful, our waitress was very attentive and quick. The menu is limited but the food is MOUTH WATERING. The salmon dish I had was the best salmon dish I have ever ate and the Creme Brûlée was phenomenal. I will definitely be back! read more

Décor was on point. Food was excellent however we had one appetizer and two main dishes....ALL of them had cilantro in them. I like cilantro but maybe the chef could try using different some herbs! read more

My husband and I had dinner here tonight for the first time and both agree we will be back. The food was excellent and the service was very good, too. We were curious about anyone that would try to takeover the old District Table location and were very pleased with the result. We had the steamed buns as a starter and plan to have the squash blossom the next time we come. He had the hanger steak which he deemed really good and I had the farro stir fry which was good, too. For dessert we split the goat cheese cake with passion fruit sorbet. Excellent. The Key lime pie with toasted marshmallow sounded good and we will try that next time. We truly enjoyed our meal and the attentiveness of owner Randy and our server Kayla. Randy mentioned having a beer tasting dinner on a Tuesday in March which we will be making reservations for. We apparently were there during happy hour and they had a sauvignon blanc wine on happy hour. My husband liked it, but I didn't. Really great restaurant. My husband and I decided to go here for a date night. There was a great happy hour! We ordered the burger, Brussel sprout and kale salad (which was good but had a bit too much dressing), Burrata, and Tuna Tartar and split everything. All were delicious! We dined here for the first time tonight. Great Riesling! We really enjoyed the food...kale and brussell sprout caesar salad, grilled octopus, salmon, striped bass, carrot cake. Very attentive server too. The only problems are that it's a little pricey and definitely too noisy. read more

Tried South Fork for the first time--wonderful food and terrific service. Oysters as fresh as you could want. Duck confit to die for, and steamed buns with chicken crispy and tender. Had goat cheese cheesecake and loved it. Totally great experience. Will be back soon. read more

We are very particular about our dining preferences and after eating at South Fork three times, we had to post our review since the service and the food are outstanding! It is evident that the staff are very well trained...from the handling of empty plates to serving the food. Randy is super friendly and professional. The food is superbly tasty and VERY consistent. The chef is also very meticulous in his plating of the dishes. Prices are not inexpensive but money well spent! Another great restaurant addition to lovely Stuart and receives a top rating from us. Duck and the burger, definitely a marvelous choice. The specials are always outstanding, and the chef could give Gordon Ramsey a run for his money. I've always been in search of the best burger for over 10 years, definitely found it right here. The staff makes the experience, especially if you sit at the bar. The happy hour is the best time for food, drink and fair prices. The food is very good but inconsistent in quantity. The first time I went there, the food was delicious and the portions were decent for the price. The second time I went there the portions were smaller for the same price. The service seems to have the same problem. The first time I went there the service was not very good, not a friendly greeting, not a friendly efficient server. I ordered a drink at 5.55pm and my server said happy hour prices were now over. I was disappointed that I had to pull out my cell phone to prove to the server that my happy hour order needed to be honored since my phone showed it was 5.55pm. The server was not gracious in fulfilling this drink order. The second time I went there the service by Nicole was impeccable. Finally, the ambiance is lacking and in need of improvement as well...it is not a warm cozy place..... But , yes, I would recommend this restaurant and hope that they improve on these issues and I wish them much success. read more
