They were nice and all but completely over processed my lashes to where they were so curled in they have hurt me eyeballs the last couple months and look absolutely crazy. I got this done in mid April waited to see if they would adjust and still really haven't. The nail techs are rude, the work is crude and messy, the price is unreasonable, and there is no willingness to cooperate. 110 dollars to receive attitude, have uneven short nails with no chance to even ask for design. Every time my wife had some sort of question or request, the nail tech made HER the problem and made NO effort to meet her needs. She left unsatisfied and appalled at the way she was treated. Worst customer service I've ever experienced. I called the nail salon yesterday to confirm rates for a pedicure and gel X manicure I was told the gel manicure is between $50-$80. And I confirmed that there would not be any additional charges for shaping of the nail or the length. Based on that response, I made an appointment over the phone. Then I was texted this morning to go to another one of their locations. I asked whoever was texting me. Are they able to do designs and I sent photos of what I was wanting and they said yes The pedicure by another employee was great. The owner was absolutely so rude. He was unable to do the designs and his work was not adequate, and when I pointed out one of the design flies, he told me I was wrong. So I just told them to scrap doing any designs. I like cats on reviewing the work he was doing. It was not good. It was subpar. And when he was finished I told him that his employee told me that it would've been $50-80 and he said no I was wrong and at this point I just have a nude manicure. So no, I don't wanna be paying $75 for what I could've done at home. And he started screaming at me cussing at me, basically throwing the menu book in my face. I will never be returning to this location. Ever again, and this man should be put out of business for how he talks/ treats customers. read more

Terrible acrylic job. Mediocre /rushed paint job. It's been one week since I got this set and I've got two broken nails and others lifting from the nail bed. Considering the length I asked for I was told I was being taken care of by a professional who normally works on longer sets. Clearly this was untrue. To achieve the paint style I wanted I was switched to another nail tech who was rushed to finish my nails the entire service. I believe the paint job would've been better if the owner wasn't rushing her. $150 down the drain. Your better off looking for another place if you desire a set similar to mine. I called ahead to see if they would fit me in for a last minute gel. I spoke to Tina and she told me that she could fit me in if I made it within 45 minutes. When I arrived, they immediately sat me down and offered me water... it waVan shaped and painted my nails, and did a fantastic job. I have a nail that is permanently broken at the bed and Mike carefully applied a dip to help support and shape it to the length of the other nails. I couldn't be more pleased with the results. I recently moved to Nashville and am trying to find my go-to nail spot for dip nails. I gave South Nail Bar a try based on some of the reviews and pictures that looked well done. These pictures are exactly one week and a day out from when I got them done. As you can see the dip is extremely thick and is already starting to lift at the cuticles, which is my number one red flag when it comes to dip nails. I even expressed that to my nail tech & he assured me that that would not happen and that he sealed them very good. Well, that's not the case & they are already snagging my hair and cracking at the tips. Safe to say, I will not be a repeat customer. read more

I made an appointment here for a dip manicure. It was my first time here. It is very clean and has nice decor inside! There weren't many people there but it did start to fill up over the course of my appointment. I decided to try nail art for the first time and I think it came out super cute! It took about 1.5 hours total. For dip removal and nail art it was $60 before tip. You can tip on card payments which is great! read more

This was my first and last time. I sat down to get my pedicure and was handed 3 small books of colors. I had not looked through them completely when a lady came and took all but 1 book and said she would bring them back, she never did. I have been getting acrylic over my own nails. I just needed them changed. The owner came to me while I was getting my pedicure and started cutting my nails. WITH FULL ACRYLIC. It hurt so bad. I asked her to stop 3 times and told her I wanted to keep my nails, she just kept cutting them. To the point I had to jerk away and raise my voice a little. She then put them in foil with solution and because it cracked my nails it burned. I told her I could not get out quick enough. I let the girl finish my toes. The owner told the girl to charge me $38 and the girl said I $48. It should have been free for what I went through. I will never go back. If I could give negative stars I would! read more

My nail tech was nice but seemed untrained. I think this may the kind of place where experience varies wildly depending on who you get as a technician. To sum up my complaints : 1) I asked that my cuticles not be cut but they were cut, one to the point of bleeding. 2) my old nail polish was removed with a file/buffer, not polish remover. I was wearing a thin coat of Londontown mail concealer on natural nails. This seemed odd and left some polish on my nails. 3) the "regular" polish I chose was applied like a gel - multiple heavy coats using short brush strokes. I had to remove the polish hours later because it hadn't dried and was dented/smudged. I wish I'd been more assertive about questioning the tech's methods - lesson learned. read more

I was absolutely thrilled to find such a lovely nail salon in my new city! I wanted to take off one star for parking but I can't blame them for that, seeing as how the that area has limited street parking. It would be nice if there was a voucher for customers but overall this was a wonderful experience I would definitely recommend the nail technician named maya. She is very thorough and kind. My cuticles have never looked better! I got a basic pedicure and surprisingly it felt upgraded. I got a hot towel wrap on my legs lotion and massage of my feet and very meticulous cuticle removal and polish application. **TLDR: -My nails are DESTROYED + literally bending backwards from weakness. I'm furious. -This place is quite expensive (paid nearly $40 for a gel removal and regular manicure with NO paint this last visit) -They're not concerned with nail health. -Been here 5 times in the 9 weeks I've lived here and spent over $600 in the process, yet treated with disdain when I informed the manager about the damage to my nails at my last appointment. -They won't get anymore of my money. Let me preface everything with this: This is an attractive salon, and if you must go, try Maya. That said, I wish I could add more stars, but honestly I came to write a review because I'm so unhappy. I just moved to Nashville 2 months ago, and in that time I've been to this nail salon five (5) times, counting today. I liked it and planned for this to be my nail salon in my new city. My last visit was the first that was pretty bad -- 1) I had a really mediocre pedicure and 2) then, despite me telling them I had an appt and needed to leave quickly because I was preparing to travel (sidenote: my appointments there are ritually 2.5 hours), I ended up being there longer than ever before and missing my next appointment. If that wasn't bad enough, I asked the nail tech who worked on my hands not to drill gel off of my nails but to let the acetone do its work and then scrape lightly. She insisted on using the drill, saying it would be fine, and as I suspected from the burning as she was drilling, my nails were paper thin and splitting from the moment I left (while traveling...so bad). I was really, really pissed because I'd just gotten my pre-pandemic nail health back. But I was willing to overlook that terrible appointment bc the only reason I saw those techs was because Maya wasn't in and I was traveling the next day. Anyway, that was two weeks so I thought I'd gotten over it. BUT. Back to present day: once Maya got the gel off today (by soaking, the way you should) my nails were even worse than I suspected or noticed. I had to cut my now quite long nails down to very short--and they're so thin and damaged that they're *still* bending backwards, even as short as they are. I was furious, so I decided to share my dissatisfaction with the manager/owner on my way out. As I was paying I just told her that I was unhappy with the health of my nails following my last appointment and explained what happened. All she said was "I'm sorry" in a way that clearly communicated that she wasn't the least bit sorry. If she wasn't going to offer me any compensation or anything to improve my feelings on my way out, she could have at least sounded sincere. She couldn't muster that, and even after returning for a fix (that they tried to charge me an additional $35 for after charging me $83 for the crappy one three days earlier) I can say this is *the* worst manicure and pedicure I've ever had. Although I liked the salon in the past, I won't be returning to South Nail Bar. It's far too expensive (I paid $83 today for a regular manicure and pedicure) to be unapologetically destroying nail health. Fin. read more

The way you treat clients matters. First, Ms. Sophia was very pleasant and did a great job on my nails. The gentleman that did my pedicure was also friendly, and did a nice job. Here are the issues. I've been here before on a weekday and they have offered a weekday discount. I asked if that special still applied. One man laughed at me and said - idk what you're talking about. I said, oh you must not be offering that. A woman behind me goes to pay and says I'd like to apply the Vandy discount. They give her a discount no questions asked. I'm also a Vandy student, so I say oh, there's a Vanderbilt discount? As she swipes my card She says yes there is, not stopping to ask me if I am one. And they ask to see my ID and proceed to tell me that I should have asked before I checked out. Now, if someone asks about a discount why would you not tell them all the ones you offer? Laughing in someone's face and then intentionally not providing them with information is unacceptable. I will not be back, and I will continue going to Cured Nails in East Nashville. read more

I went to South Nail bar to get my acrylics off and get regular polish on. Taking off the acrylics was fine and my nail tech was very nice, but my nails were filed very poorly and the polish chipped hours after I left the salon. Not to mention, the polish job was very poor and portions of my nails were left unpolished. Finally, once my topcoat was painted on I was told my appointment was over and they did not dry my nails. I had to leave and come back to get my nails dried. For a $40 manicure, I think this was not worth it and am very disappointed in the service for such an upscale place. read more

I got an acrylic fill with gel polish, and paid $65 (before tip) for something I am not at all happy with. Not only did they cut them way too short and shape them awfully, my nails are lumpy. And splotchy. They were understaffed but I had an appointment and was rushed through and paused on a million times to help walk-ins.
