Went in there buying from a family friend. was given a 2012 Kia Soul that broke within the first week completely, they rebuilt the motor and left out an entire hose clamp when returning it to me, returned it and then they forgot an entire exhaust part box in the engine. Didn't even resolve the initial issue and engine light kept flashing. Sent it back in AGAIN and this time they forgot AN ENTIRE BOLT ON MY BRAKE CALIPER. The only reason I knew any of this is because I'm blessed with a friend who's a retired mechanic who would check it out for me as a precaution. They are not thorough in their work on their cars. They over charge for the price on parts AND labor. I specifically asked on the phone AND in person when I got there if they would cover or if my warranty covered a SIMPLE DIAGNOSIS. They said YES. Specifically Craig. And next day I find out they're charging me 150 FOR JUST INSPECTION And their explanation of what's wrong doesn't explain half of the issues it has still. He told me he would look into a new engine since that's covered, but instead told me I need to pay 400$ almost in total To fix my car. Ridiculous. It has ruined my life and kept me out of working for literally weeks. I bought this car thinking I'd be saved from working on it because financially I cannot afford it, and here I am being scammed as a woman going alone to a dealership I trusted because of a family friend. I've never been a fan of this dealership, and I've heard bad things from others as well. So clearly they don't leave a very good impression. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My brother who is big into cars has nothing nice to say about it, which I didn't know until after I had been here and had my own opinions. I drove up here with a friend who was planning on buying a car, and wanted to check it out. I personally would've driven the 15 miles into Salem and gone to Skyline Ford, but that's me. The car was more important to this friend than where it came from, I guess. I actually suggested this to her, but she wanted this specific car. My friend made an appointment and we went in and test drove the car. She fell in love with it, and wanted to buy it. She planned on trading in her truck, which was actually worth a pretty decent amount. She test drove the car and it was quite nice. There were a few imperfections, but it was a used car. So I suppose that is to be expected. The biggest thing that stood out to me was when my friend heard a strange noise coming from the car. It sounded like a loose or squeaky belt. The guy who went on the test drive went to grab a second salesman for another opinion. This kid looked maybe 25, in dress clothes. There's nothing wrong with this. However he tried to say he knew cars very well, and the noise was basically in my friend's head, and everything he heard was perfectly normal. His claim to fame was growing up around cars. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't selling his case of being knowledgeable given he looked like he had previously worked in a mall selling cell phones. He had that look, like he'd never had his hands dirty in his life. Plus, talking down to and being condescending to two women who were older than him didn't sit well with me at all. My friend bought the car, against better judgement. Like I said, she loved the car, so she was willing to overlook how terrible these guys were. She took it in to a mechanic, and they did actually find something wrong with the belt, which just goes to prove my theory that the guy saying he knew everything about cars knew absolutely nothing buy how to argue and be condescending. The fact he tried to gloss over something that was clearly wrong with the car instead of addressing it gives me the impression they are a shady business, which doesn't sit well with me. I would've had more respect for them if they had actually addressed the problem. They can say they would be unwilling to fix it, and that is their choice. But instead of being honest, they tried to make a customer feel like an idiot. She planned on trading her truck in to them, and she had done her research. It retailed according to KBB at around $7-8 thousand. They wanted to give her $2,000 for it, citing that the flames painted on the front would make it that much harder for them to sell, and it would likely sit on their lot for at least 1-2 years before it was sold. I can kind of buy the issue with the paint job, but 1-2 years? Really? That's absurd. They get paid to move cars. Plus I think the offer of $2,000 was beyond a low ball offer. I could see $4-5,000 being more reasonable, and they would still have room to make a profit. She decided to keep it, and I drove it home, while she drove her new car. She ended up selling the truck within a month for $7,000. So clearly it wasn't nearly as difficult as the salesman made it out to be. Would I ever return? Not a chance. There's way too much evidence to show that this dealership is shady, in my opinion. I hate to think a business would intentionally be dishonest, and don't typically use the word shady to describe anyone, but they are here. The condescending attitude of the salesmen, the refusal to admit to a problem and just be honest, and the low ball offer on the trade in. I would've gone to Skyline Ford in Salem, where none of these problems exist, and there's no reason to even think they would be dishonest. Review 10 of 2017. read more

I have had a terrible time finding a car. I am disabled and traveling was a difficult thing. I was sent an ANGEL to help me though! His name is RAY! He is by far the BEST car salesman ever. I'm blessed to have had him and his help. He helped me do everything over the phone and then found someone to deliver the car straight to me! I was amazed by this kindness and service. UPDATE- I won't be back to that place. I like the guys who fix things cause they tell you salesman are ass holes. They delivered me the car thinking I was dumb. My tires went flat days later I'm grateful they did replace them but I was treated poorly in the process... my door handle broke off and he said it was covered and it's not. Had to pay for that. Then another handle broke off. Seriously haven't had this car a year yet and I hate it with a passion! So, don't let them deliver a car, go test drive open all the doors and see if it's SAFE for you to drive. I officially hate car lots and salesman!!! read more

I had added wheels to my financing and later changed my mind on them. It took two months to get my refund check and I had paid interest on them for two payments. Also, I asked for a better itemized list because I was never given one with all my purchases on it from this place. So I have no idea exactly how much my wheels were and if the refund check is even correct. I've asked a few times for this now. I went through this place and dealt with Saul and was told that they could defiantly work with all my parameters to get me into the vehicle I really wanted and had my heart set on. I got there filled out the paperwork made sure again that this would be something they would be able to work with before I went through with it and lowered my credit score. And I was assured this is what they do all the time for people, after waiting he comes out and ripped my heart out of my chest and says this isn't going to work. So I left with a lowered credit score and obviously not the vehicle I wanted. Bought an old truck here. 13 years old. But very specific, looked 4 months to find the correct 7.3 power stroke truck. Love the truck, only drive it 1/2 the year because the other 1/2 I am on a bike. That's the obvious part of the story. The rest of the story goes like this; Two days in my air filter light came on. And my silly auto headlight sensor was bad. Guess what, they fixed it no questions asked. As the weather got cold found my truck didn't want to start at all. Months later guess what, they fixed it!!! Now I know I paid more than retail for this truck, because I kinda had to to get exactly what I wanted. That's a reality. What I bought is a long term relationship, I just wasn't expecting that!!!! I bought a couple vehicles from them since 1990. They give me a good line and talk me into buying vehicles that have major problems. All three. My buddy bought a ford ranger and paid way too much. Less than a month the top end went out. I have known several people over the years that have gotten dishonest deals from those guts.. South Pacific doesn't honor there word either. The last 2 times I went in the straight up lied and said they would do a soft credit check and it wouldn't hurt my credit. Since then I have financed 3 vehicles starting in 2017 from private party financing through a credit union. I will never do business with South Pacific. So. I went into the service department to have a diagnostics service ran. I already knew my car was having trouble with the AC blower motor and resistor. The man working tried to charge me 218 dollars just to look at it when on the phone I was told it was a flat rate of 85 dollars. After a bit of back and forth squabbling; We went and checked the books; low and behold, I WAS RIGHT. Then going over prices after they looked and found the blower motor and resistor needed to be changed ( surprise surprise I already told them that) they were wanting to charge around 200 for a new blower motor and 100 for a resistor. Neither of those pieces are nearly that expensive. Then they said it would be a 4 and a half hour job all totally up to 970+ dollars. I decided against getting the service done there, from which the service staff began boasting "I wouldn't find a better deal anywhere". I still paid the 85 for the useless diagnostic that they did and left. WELL. I called and made an appointment with kiefer Kia after talking parts, price and labor with them. Kiefer Kia can do the job in about AN HOUR, neither pieces of equipment are over 100 AND THEY ARE ONLY CHARGING 375 dollars TOTAL. What did I learn from this? South Pacific is a shady business and will try to ran sack the pockets of any individual they think is dumb enough to just take their word on pricing and labor. Definitely get quotes from other mechanic shops before letting these guys rob you. read more

Very disappointed and unhappy with this place. Avoid it at all costs! Last year, my boyfriend and I went to look at a Jeep we saw listed on Craigslist. We test drove it and the guy (Chris) seemed very nice and knowledgeable. Little did I realize they'll say anything and act as nicely as possible to sell a car. He pressured us into buying it even though we said a couple times that we weren't sure and needed to go home to think about it. It's our own fault that we bought it, sure, but that doesn't excuse the fact that literally 2 days after we drove it off the lot, the check engine light came on. We called them and they said to bring it in and they would look at it. I said flat out that we weren't paying for the problem and they said "well since you just got it, we'll take care of it, but normally we wouldn't do this." LOL! Don't even act like you're doing us a favor! (Did I mention the tank was close to empty when we drove it home? We barely made it into Corvallis for gas.) The second thing I was upset about this place for was that when we tried to go back to get something else for less money and better gas mileage, when we explained to one of the sales guys how unhappy we were with Chris, he proceeded to lie and tell us "oh, we fired him because he wasn't a good guy." Yet again when we came back a couple weeks later, some guy named Ken said Chris actually quit on his own because of a better job offer. Wow! Nothing but lies from this place and over-priced cars with expensive problems. We ended up getting rid of the Jeep and I will never recommend this place to anyone again. read more

Just recently purchased a truck from them and in the first month of owning it I have had to get the whole rear-end re-built and also had to replace the injection pump and the lift pump costing me roughly 4k. They said they had a full inspection done on the vehicle prior to me buying it and stated "this is a great running rig". This is the worst place to ever buy a car they will take advantage of you. My boyfriend bought a car that had 33 accident reports and they claimed it's fine and has never been in an accident. The car had welding inside and the car use to be red they obviously had to cover it up and had to get rid of it. I went to South Pacific Auto Sales with a friend and left with a new used car. I feel I was worked over and they were not honest. First check-up I had done it was found that my oil filter was cross thread and could not be taken off without damaging other parts. When I requested a list of services performed on the vehicle, I was told only one person at the shop was able to provide that and he wasn't in, and was NEVER contacted. Poor service all around. Thoroughly disappointed with South Pacific Auto Sales AND still have $4000 to pay off on a broken car they sold me. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! This Car Company sold me a car with a warranty that my car did not qualify for despite KNOWING that my car would not qualify for it. So a mere month later, when my clutch went out and the car had to be repaired, I spent three weeks struggling with them "fixing" my warranty problem. They even tried to charge me the same price for a warranty that covered significantly less. They pushed me around to multiple people and lied to me a lot. They are deceptive and greedy! I just recently traded my diesel in for a Chrysler 300 for here. My diesel was perfect and I wasn't too in love with the car and didn't care if I got it. But they got the payment down too what I said so I eventually said ok. It was a john varvatos addition so it has a lot of options. I tried too talk them down and they told me that they couldn't because it had all these options. Well the day after I got it I noticed that when I hit the fog light button it nothing happened. Well turns out a stock front clip was put on and the fog thought wires were hanging down 3 inches from the ground. Also back visor for window was broke. GPS doesn't work and the glued my center console that was suppose too be replaced. I would never recommend this place too anyone!! When I went In too have them look at it they told me that I should have looked at it better when I got it. So they made pay full cost for options it didn't have!! Fraud! I'm soooooo mad. Went here to just look at cars to see what I could afford. Made it very clear to the salesman I wasnt wanting to walk out with a car. Well after running my credit he forced me into test driving a car. Then I found a decent one, so I thought. Told him I wanted to think it over for a day or so. He wouldn't allow it and told me how bad my credit sucked and I wouldn't get help anywhere else. So I got the car not even two days later took the car to my parents and let my father feel it out. When we popped the hood there was no fluids in the car. Mind you they told me it had been fully serviced. Called them and took the car down there after my dad put fluids in it. Then they continued to blame me because they got caught in lies. Kept telling me I signed for it. And that I messed up. Finally after over an hour of them put putting me down and trying to get me back on the lot to look at cars, I got my old car back. Needless to say I don't recommend this dealership to anyone. Makes sense why they didn't want my dad looking at the car now. Oh and the car hadn't been serviced. Someone drove it over three months before she wasnt paying and signing the loan. And they took it from her and threw it right back onto the lot unserviced. I didn't feel like this was a family owned car dealer experience and I will never recommend them. read more

I'm writing to try and help people not have the same nightmare we are living,We bought a 2004 used auto in what we thought was great shape due to the low norm miles and a great looking suv with all the extras, with that said we did not get a warenty and have bought other used auto's in the past from other dealers and never got one and have never needed one, now with that said 14 months into this car it is now in the shop to either get a new crankshaft of a diff. engine at a cost of over $2000 and we are having to of course make payments on this auto while not being able to drive it, the only thing the dealer wants to do is ask for more $$$$ to fix it, my answer is I think not, Ken there who I have facebook messaged with and spoke to on the phone is the one who delivered me this info. along with trying to share his familys vac. moments with me to get me to try and understand that it's ok to rip us off, hum, I asked of them to either fix it for free and then have us sighn something saying after that they will no longer help or take the car back fix it and re sale and let us pick something else out and his answer was ya you can trade it in after we pay to fix it, yet again well NO, anyway I have tweeted, facebooked, yelped and written Dodge corp. on this matter, so please don't let there smiles fool you cause after the sale you really do not matter to them, and for Ken he was usless and to share family storys to get your way is just wrong in all sence of the word. so please do your selves a favor and stay away from south pacific auto sales, I have also told out local auto auction here in town about this matter since they buy and seal cars there and I have family and friends working there and I know it matters to them who they do busness with.I thank you all for your time in reading this. and yes I am mad and bitter, they have left a very bad taste in my heart. We stopped in to check out a couple vehicles. The salesman was great and even stayed past closing time to help us. As it was late and we wanted to think about the purchase, we left and intended to come back in a day or two. We planned to pay cash and had unique circumstances. The salesman assured us it was no problem. If we chose to buy the vehicle we could take it home, same day. We went back a couple of days later. Our first choice had sold but our second choice was still available. We again explained our financial circumstances, the salesman (a different one) again assured us it was not problem. We could take the car home same day. After a test drive we spoke briefly with someone we were told was a manager, to confirm there was no problem with our cash purchase. He assured us there was no problem, we'd be able to take the car home "tonight". At this point, it were early enough and we lived close enough, if there had been a concern, we could have left, brought back documentation and been back to the dealership before closing. But, since this was the third person to tell us there was no issue, we stayed and waited for the paperwork to be processed. This manager also told us, since we were paying cash there would be no fees other than the standard DMV fees, which we would have to pay regardless. I specifically asked if there would be admin/dock/filing/etc. fees as other dealerships charge. He said there would not. About 30 minutes later our salesman came in and told us there was, after all, an issue and we'd have to bring back the requested paperwork. It was late and not enough time to go home and get back before closing. We couldn't take the car home "tonight". Although frustrated, we continued to wait for the paperwork to be ready. When we went to sign, there was, in fact an additional fee. We liked the vehicle. It suited our needs. The price, although about $2,000 over suggested retail was still reasonable. We bought the vehicle. But, we were still frustrated. We felt we'd be led on and lied to. I wrote a letter to the owners, explaining our frustration. We also explained that we had a much larger purchase we planned to make in the very near future. When we went in to pay the vehicle off just a few days later, we again expressed our frustration. It's been over 3 weeks since our purchase when I gave the dealership my letter and nearly a week since our last in-person visit. To date there has not been so much as even an acknowledgment of our experience with them. As I said, we did make our purchase. Not because of the service we received but in spite of it. read more
