I've been going to this store for about 10 years. Spent thousands for tires and services on 6 different vehicles. Bragged to all of my friends and co-workers how great they were. I scheduled an oil change. Said I would drop off around 8 after they open. I got there at 8:30 to leave it for the day. They refused service because I wasn't there at 8 Sharp. I was super disappointed to discover the Chevrolet dealership in Albany had abandoned the town when it came time to need an old change. Didn't want to have to drive to Corvallis just to get it done (I drive 100s of miles a day already). Lo and behold, just a rock's throw away from my abode, thereabouts, South Pacific Tire Pros was practically waving at me like "HEY! STUPID! RIGHT HERE." I didn't need tires, but uh...the signage seemed to suggest they work on other stuff, so I went in to check it out...and sure as s--t, bunch of nice fellas in there got me going. After the dealership pricing for things, the swiftness and quality that South Pacific Tire Pros, for a very reasonable price, have shown me just in the early days of our consumer relationship, especially in these uncertain times where labor and parts seem to be getting harder and harder to source, I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to take my vehicle anywhere else, no matter what type of work I might need. We were 1000 miles from home and had a funny noise in the front of our car which turns out to be a splash guard. we asked the front desk at South Pacific if they can come out and look at our car and the kind of gentleman behind the counter came out and lickety-split he fixed the problem and sent us on our way. so, first let me say that I will go in and retract and edit based on outcome On July 4th I bought a 2001 Ford F-150 pick up that had been gone over by this mechanics shop. I bought it from the sister business next door (South Pacific Auto Sales) I was told to buy the warranty as the truck had 100,000 miles on it, but was also given the mechanics report card and repair log. It had been checked out thoroughly, tuned up, new brakes, rotors, drums etc. I was told that is was a great buy, solid rig, yada, yada,,yada. The finance guy really "suggested" I buy a warranty and said "Not that this will most likely happen, because our mechanics are really good, but you're buying as is.... of course, we'd make it right if something happened right away because we take care of our customers, especially when you use our mechanics, but you should get a warranty with any used vehicle." He made it sound like I would get VIP service if I kept it within the "family" and got the warranty. I got the warranty. Best advice I ever got. The truck was driven to Albany (the dealership) and back to Salem three times- Home depot 4 times (6 miles each way) and finally, a month later, it's first maiden voyage to Sisters Oregon-- or not. It made it just outside of Lyons before there was a cutting out feel. The guy at the auto supply shop said "Hmmm, maybe needs gas additive cause of a clogged injector" We put the recommended cleaner in. Meanwhile, we noticed that the brakes didn't seem to be firm. Took the car back home and straight to South Pacific Auto where it was purchased. Explained the problem, left the key. I had had the car less than 5 weeks. They promised me they'd get it taken care of. It has now been in the shop for over two weeks and if I get it back as predicted for the third time, it will be two and a half weeks- exactly one third of the time I have owned it, in the shop. Bad ABS Module and coil and spark plug. Talking to other mechanics they say the spark plug (not covered under warranty aka "my dime") should have been checked, cleaned and/or replaced at the time of service for sale... (recommended mileage?) otherwise, it is probably a fail caused by the other problems-- but, hey, they are the competition, what do they know? really. South Pacific Tire Pros (and repair) were referred to as "our guys". Made it sound like a happy family. Made it sound like if I bought from them, used their mechanics, I would be in this big happy family. But I am not so happy. It wasn't even diagnosed for a week. Then they were waiting for the warranty place to okay the repair for a day or two. Then a part was ordered but didn't come in till last Thursday. Then this used part was bad, go figure. But, when he ordered it again, it is no longer a day turn around I guess, cause now it isn't due to arrive until Tuesday. Supposedly I will get it back on Tuesday... or Wednesday.... or Thursday.... or ????? In the meantime, this truck I bought to use in a time-sensitive remodel has been sidelined at their shop for over two weeks (two weeks and one day so far and counting) To install an ABS module, coil and spark plug. The expense of holding up my contractors until I can haul supplies has been horrible. Moral of the story. 1.Buy a warranty. 2.Get a couple of mechanic shops on standby that will accept the warranty. 3. Find out who can fix it and when. or better yet... 4. Get a certified used vehicle or even better, new. On the bright side, Will at the repair shop is polite each and every one of the 5 times so far that he has told me it will only be another day or two. read more

Great customer service all the staff is extremely friendly and very willing to help. I called in about getting a new tire and the woman who helped me was extremely helpful she said she would call around a few places to get me the best deal. I took my car in and it ended up that the tire just needed to be patched. The gentleman that helped me was very friendly and had great customer service! They even squeezed me in when I didn't have an appointment! I would definitely recommend South Pacific Tire Pros to anyone looking for great service at an affordable price! read more

I wouldn't recommend taking your vehicles into here for repairs of any kind. Ever. Had them do a simple repair. Immediately after picking it up my car is losing coolant by the gallons. Never lost a drop before they touched it.. Brought it back next business day and without even looking at the car tried to sell me thousands of dollars worth of engine repair. Then tried to tell me I had 4 leaks and they needed 600 to fix it. Took it somewhere else for a second opinion. ONE leak.. which wasn't even one of the leaks they "found". Because of their "work" I've now had to replace 4 parts of my cooling system. One of which was the part they just put in. Won't be taking anything back to these people. Perhaps they should stick to tires. read more

Worlds worst place ever bunch sexist assholes. Try selling my gf a 1000 plus dollar repair when the car was perfect. After they touched it it runs like shit and they say they didnt do anything wrong of course. I'm more inclined to take them to court and make them pay for the repairs we now need that we definitely didnt need before. read more

I needed a front end alignment and 4 new tires. I received a price quote from the nearest Costco for the tires, but they do not do alignments. I made an appointment with South Pacific Tires for an alignment before I had my new tires installed. The salesman there asked if he could try to win my tire business as well. I agreed, and he tried to match the deal from Costco. He could not match the price, but was very friendly about it. If I wasn't so cheap, I probably would have had them install tires as well. They gladly performed an alignment on my car, and gave me a ride to my office while the work was being done. I picked up the car, and it was noticeably better. The price was fair, they gave me a ride (and offered to pick me up if needed), finished on time, left the car clean and performed a bang-up job. I also hear they have a new state-of-the art alignment machine as well. Best of all, they did not try to sell me new brakes, struts, etc... like the local Firestone and Les Schwab now do. read more
