The recent process of dental work that I have had recently has left me looking for another dental office. During my visit in September 2025, I was informed that my bridge was 'failing' and in addition I had a cavity underneath a crown, and in addition to that, an adjacent tooth had to be removed. To me, as a lay person, this sounded like a tremendous amount of work and cost. I felt the office manager or Cercek should have sat down with me and gone over various options. However, I was only given a referral to an oral surgeon for implants. Implants did not seem to be a good option for me after having an appointment with the referral dentist. Aside from the exorbitant cost, the x-ray showed that I would need a 'sinus uplift'. The oral surgeon did not even bother to discuss the fact that I have periodontal disease and how that can sometimes complicate issues and even having the implants 'fail'! On my own, I researched other options such as a partial denture. I was very disappointed that no information or options were given to me by the office. I, again, had to research on my own what would potentially be my reimbursement from the insurance company because Cercek is out of network. I only had $825 left for 2025. In 2026, the maximum reimbursement would be $1,500. Because I did the research, I decided to split the dental work that needed to be done over December 2025 and January 2026. I made an appointment for December 17, 2025 and another for the partial on January 14, 2026 shortly after the September visit. I later found out (at the 17th appointment) that a minimum of 6 weeks is required for healing. From the 17th of 2025 to the 14th 2026 is only 4 weeks! My appointment was moved up one week to the 10th of December, but even still that is not 6 weeks! From my researching, yet again, I found out that healing can take up to 3 months. The fact that the office didn't take the time to help me in scheduling is a gross neglect! Back in 2011 I had the adjacent tooth pulled, the oral surgeon packed the gum with cadaver bone and put in a couple of stiches. The tooth that Cercek pulled had bone loss, and I even asked if there would be bone filled in, and the answer was no with no explanation. No stiches either. Why would I go in for a measurement for a partial denture when my gums/mouth are not completely healed. That makes no sense. So, I called to cancel my appointment for the 14th and to relay these complaints to your office manager. I was told she was in a meeting. Did not receive a call back, so called again and was asked if I could be put on a 'brief hold', which I did. 10 minutes after being on hold, I hung up. Called back yet again and was asked 'what is a good time that the office manager could call you back.' Very, very poor customer service. And this is not even the whole story, but that would require a very very lengthy review.

Regarding the office management, I experienced several scheduling conflicts and felt dismissed despite having phone confirmations. Furthermore, I requested an estimate for my out-of-pocket costs multiple times prior to treatment, but was only told the amount would be "minimal" due to my dual coverage. I did not receive any EOBs, and my insurance was not billed for eight months. I finally received a bill after 11 months, which incorrectly claimed the balance was 90 days past due. Additionally, the dental hygienist was late for every appointment and performed unauthorized services that resulted in additional costs. Her negative demeanor and the way she communicated regarding my dental health were also quite distressing. Go elsewhere!!

I explained that I did confirm through the text system, just like we always have. Claudia at the front desk was very kind and explained they've been having issues with the confirmation system and said they could still see my daughter. A couple technicians came out and said they would get her in shortly, but then another technician came out and said my daughter had been removed from the schedule because we didn't confirm. When I explained what the front desk had told us about the system issue, she said it didn't matter because they were no longer taking 4 PM appointments. When I said maybe we should just leave, she said yes, we should. The manager who we have known for a very long time was standing there during this entire interaction and didn't say a word. After nearly 10 years as patients, being told to leave over what appears to be a system error was shocking. There are plenty of dentists in the area who are actually "gentle" and treat families with kindness and respect. We will be taking our family to one of them instead. I hope the office takes a closer look at how situations like this are handled in the future so other long-time patients aren't treated the same way.

Pain started on a Friday and couldn't get into any dentist office over the weekend not even the emergency numbers. We came in first thing Monday morning and was able to get an appointment the next morning. The staff was so friendly and caring. They walked us through everything and went over the payment plans. I highly recommend this place to anyone. It maybe took an hour for everything. They truly care about you and your teeth here. They make sure you are comfortable and not in any pain. **READ BEFORE USING THIS DENTISTRY**…read more Extremely disappointed in my experience with Northwest Reno Smiles and would recommend every single person to turn away or get a second opinion before proceeding with any work from this office. Here's my story... With new insurance came the need for a new dentist. After an initial visit I was told that a routine cleaning would not suffice and was quoted a few thousand dollars for a deep cleaning/scaling. With some research, it was found that the pricing was higher than average but agreed to the procedure, trusting it was needed. After the cleaning was finished, it was recommended that I meet with the offices contracted Periodontist for a post cleaning consult which I was told was protocol after the deep clean. Within 5 minutes of the meeting the Periodontist told me that "due to the severity of my periodontist" I needed osseous surgery in 3 quadrants of my mouth and was given a quote near $20k before insurance. This was jarring. Not just the cost, but the severity of a bone graft surgery given I am in my 30s with no mouth/teeth pain. After requesting my X-rays and records I immediately went to a periodontal specialist for a second opinion. After meeting with the specialist, they found that not only is an osseous surgery completely unnecessary, but that I don't have any signs of periodontist. They also commented on the absolute unnecessary need for a deep cleaning/scaling. It's hard enough to find any person or corporation you can trust but take my advice and stay clear of Northwest Reno Smiles. Absolute scam.
