Stopped here in the afternoon. Wasn't crowded. The music was good and service was good. Waitress was friendly. Food was decent. Hubby had the biscuits and gravy which came with 2 eggs and potatoes. He really enjoyed his food. I had the pistachio cream French toast which was a St. Patrick's Day special. It was ok, a little disappointed and wouldn't get again. Portion was good, 3 pieces. I've been wanting to give this place a try after reading about it on social media but keep forgetting about it because I don't live nearby. We finally made it here. We were immediately seated after checking in. Hubs ordered the Veggie omelette with multigrain bread, which has peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and broccoli. Hubs liked the potatoes and said that the omelette was generously filled with vegetables but he wished that the omelette was fluffier. He liked the multigrain bread a lot. I ordered the Belly Buster, which has short stack pancakes or French toast, two eggs any style, choice of bacon, sausage or Taylor ham and home fries. I opted for the French toast with over easy eggs and well done bacon. The bacon wasn't well done. The French toast was pretty good. There's a 3% surcharge and a credit card charge fee on the bill. There's also a 3% discount if you pay cash, so the 3% surcharge will be a wash if you pay in cash. Service was a bit slow and we hardly saw our server. We had to keep flagging him down but he had a total of 7 tables to wait on and can't blame him. It took 30 minutes for our meals to come. Will return to try other items on the menu. read more

Stopped by this place on a Saturday afternoon before a Costco run. It was not crowded so we got sat right away. The menu was huuuge and it has so many options. I believe they have breakfast menu all day but you might have to ask for it when it is after breakfast hours. We ordered Calamari for appetizer. It was much better than my bf and I expected but we've had better. Needs a little bit more salt and could be more tender but we enjoyed it otherwise. My bf ordered Jersey benedict. The eggs were cooked perfectly and he loves the hollandaise sauce. I had the the Banana nutella waffles. The banana and nutella ratio was pretty good but I prefer to have a little more of them. The waffles were cooked to my liking - crispy outside and soft inside. Our server was nice and attentive as well. He came back frequently to ask for coffee refills, and my bf was happy about that. My family and I stopped here on our drive back to Massachusetts and it's is PHENOMENAL! It's about 4-5 mins off of route 9 and well worth the stop. Service was fantastic as we were greeted and sat immediately on a Sunday morning around 9:30am. Waters were brought shortly after we sat. Every employee that interacted with us was attentive (offering coffee warm ups frequently) , kind, and extremely friendly. We got the French toast, blueberry pancakes, south side bowl (huge and super yummy), breakfast burrito, and power wrap. Everything was served hot, fresh, and very flavorful. The portion sizes were big and prices were very reasonable. Bathrooms were very clean and the restaurant had great music playing throughout ('70s and '80s). We've passed this place hundreds of times on the way to visit my mom in Matawan and never stopped in despite the fact that it always looked like they had steady customers. We stopped in today and I had the best salad I've had in a while. I got the Mexi-cali salad and it came with plenty of grilled chicken and was very fresh and was so big that I got a box to take some home. My wife had the Cobb salad and had the same experience. The server was excellent and attentive and told us that their breakfasts were really good. Passed by this place numerous times while taking my sim to school. Decided to give it a try on Mother's Day with my family! I'm glad we did, we only had to wait a couple minutes but the place was busy. We were greeted by the best waitress Karen! So we are a party 6 for early dinner we were offered a large booth and everyone ordered separately I ordered coffee and fish and chips wife ordered French Onion soup etc she remarked the soup was delicious lots of cheese and a nice broth my meal arrived and I had 4 large pieces of lightly battered Cod which not only looked great but tasted wonderful Fries accompanied the Cod which were golden brown and delicious the restaurant is very clean and well maintained we enjoyed our meals with most of us taking part of the Large portions home to enjoy again. So far, so good. I'm excited about having a new diner open up so close to home. I'm relatively new to area and I'd love to have a go-to diner nearby for my family. This diner is bright and shiny, and that includes the staff. I visited recently with my family of four, and I could not have asked for a more affable waitress. She was cheerful and attentive. My young children were given kid menus and some crayons to play with, which they always love. The food was solid but not a slam dunk. My family ordered two burgers, meatloaf, and a side of fries. The fries were hot and crispy. That may not sound like a big deal, but too many places serve lukewarm or soggy fries. I didn't order disco fries, and I immediately regretted it. The burgers were tasty but dried out. The brioche bun they were served on added a nice overall flavor profile, but the buns felt a little stale. The meatloaf, also on the dry side, had good flavor, but the side of mash was a little lukewarm. The meatloaf came with a salad that was generous and dressed beautifully. The hot meals were slightly off. These are all execution problems that are easily fixed, and I'm chalking these issues up to the small kinks that new businesses need to work out. The flavors, the options on the menu, and the outstanding service is just too good for this diner not to work it out. They'll hit their stride soon enough. I look forward to going back for breakfast soon with my family. read more
