This may be the first positive experience I've had regarding dental work! One of my molars cracked and caused me intermittent pain for some time. I scheduled an appointment at a different office earlier in the week, where they did a cleaning and exam. The dentist from this other office mentioned seeing an infection starting but sent me on my way without offering any solution except to schedule a periodontal cleaning in December. Cut to Friday night/Saturday morning that same week, where I'm in excruciating and unmanageable pain. That area was indeed infected. The first office had Saturday hours listed so I rushed back to them but they were closed. I should have called first but I was in so much pain, I didnt really think about it. Desperate, I found South Valley Dental nearby. They were open by appointment only so I went in to ask if they could recommend somewhere for me to go. They told me they would see me even though I didn't have an appointment! They quickly took me back and got me completely out of pain. Unfortunately, I'm unsure which doctor treated me but she was very straight forward and honest going over my options/costs and gave me plenty of time to figure out what I wanted to do. The work was done quickly and painlessly, along with an antibiotic and NSAID to manage discomfort as the infection dies down. I have scheduled an appointment for the rest of my treatment, which they were very flexible and accomodating for as well. The pain has not come back and I am eager to finish the work needed on this tooth. I am extremely grateful to everyone who saw me that day. This place is AMAZING!! Literally a life-saver!! I met Sylvia Jeffries through a mutual friend. I had to see her for dental work because I had gotten into a bad accident 6 months before. This bad accident caused one tooth to break in half and a horizontal fracture in one of my front teeth, which meant that tooth had to be pulled from my mouth, requiring an implant and a new tooth. I was a few months away from moving across the country (Chicago to Las Vegas) while still in the process of fixing my teeth. When I moved, the only thing keeping my smile looking "normal" was a "tooth flipper." When that accidentally broke and I was over a thousand miles away from home, Dr. Jeffries was more than willing to help me get it temporarily fixed. She ended up completing the process of my front tooth implant with a crown and I am SO very happy and thankful at the amazing job she did! Even when I expressed to her my concerns about the first initial tooth from the lab looking much smaller and uneven as compared to my other teeth, she immediately was willing to fix it. She sent it back to the lab to get fixed so that it was evenly shaped and aligned to match my other teeth. I had two visits with Dr. Jeffries and found her to be kind patient, informative and gentle during the treatments. The hygenist did my cleaning and the dentist performed the other work. It was easy to get and appt within a week and when you arrive you are seen within 10 minutes of your appt time. The front office staff are very nice and easy pkg in the shopping center. I am surprised that I am the first to review Valley Dental! This location is about 30 seconds from my house, in the Albertson's shopping center on College Dr. I've been going here for a long time (about 6 years or so), mostly because it's so convenient. Pros: They accept my insurance (HPN via MGM MIrage Resorts). Apparently a lot of dentists don't accept this plan, which is strange. They offer office hours every other Saturday, by appointment. I am off Sat/Sun, so this is great. I don't want to go in to the dentist before going to work. Cons: I don't like how open every room is. You can hear the conversations in the other rooms and when being walked to your room, you also see everything going on. They have private TV's at each chair, but they are only ever playing "Maid in Manhattan." Time for an update, since that movie came out in 2002. Overall, Dr. Yamaguchi is very nice. My mouth is pretty healthy - I've only had 2 cavities in my entire life, both as an adult. I don't think anyone will ever floss as much as their Dentist would like, but I think I am going alright. So next time, we can hopefully skip the lecture! They are affordable and offer payment plans if you need to have a lot of work done. I really don't like going to the dentist, but overall Valley Dental makes it pretty painless. read more

I had my appointment on February 14th, 2019. I made my appointment the day before with Jennifer and met Dr. Jefferis. First impressions were great, felt at ease coming back for my appointment. Both of them have a great sense of humor. On appointment day, I was met by the front desk staff, Jennifer and Lilly. I only sat in waiting room for 15 minutes before being taken back to my chair. Crystal performed a battery of X-Rays. She was gentle and very pleasant. Then Dr. Jefferis came in and did a tooth by tooth examination. She was very thorough and concise with her instructions to her assistant. Her clear diagnosis was a complete DEEP cleaning of all 4 quadrants of my mouth. The procedure requires Novacane for my whole mouth. When Dr. Jefferis got started, she makes you feel like a person instead of just another random patient or a number on a list on a schedule. I could see her dedication while she worked. She answered any questions I had and informed me of what she was doing while she continued with the procedure. She also gave me several breaks during the procedure so I could get through all 4 quadrants in one setting. When I started to feel any pain, she immediately re-numbed the area without any questions. I never felt rushed or that she was ever in a hurry to finish my procedure. In fact my session took nearly 2 full hours. After I got home, I expected to be in tremendous pain once the Novacane wore off. But that was not the case, I was a little sore tho. So, the moral of this story is: If you want the BEST care and feel like your doctor actually cares about a patient, then YOU MUST make an appointment with Dr, Jefferis and feel good about going to your dentist!!! Idk what's the purpose of making an appointment here only to show up early and then wait in your car for additional 30 plus minutes past your appointment time. Then call them back to see what's going on and no one picks up. Poor time management and customer service read more

Best dentist ever!!! I chipped a tooth really bad on a taco and went in and they saw me right away. They even got mad at me for waiting a few days after it cracked. I take my whole family there. They're very gentle with all of us and my 6 year old loves them. I can't see me going anywhere else, ever!!! read more

I love Dr. Jefferies and the whole staff here. I'm very self conscious about my smile and they are always so positive, friendly, and supportive. They don't make me feel bad for not having the necessary insurance needed to keep my teeth in better shape. What they do though is help you fix your smile (if needed) with affordable prices, quick service, and no attitude. I even had an emergency yesterday and she saw me immediately and got me in and out within 20 minutes (she just had to look at my mouth and get me a prescription but it was still immediate). Our family has been seeing Dr. Sylvia Jeffries for a few years. Her care is always gentle, knowledgeable, and in the best interest of her patients. Her staff are just a kind and courteous. My son has always needed "extra" medication to get any dental work completed (he's had a LOT). Since seeing Dr. Jeffries, he has only needed the normal numbing agents. My child who has anxiety totally trusts her. She tells him exactly what she is doing and shows him the tools. Just the other day, I discovered an issue with one of my teeth. I called and left a message during non-business hours. I received a call the next morning to make the next available appointment to fix the problem! Dr. Jeffries is extraordinary! I had a dental emergency during the COVID-19 crisis, and she fit me in immediately. Her dental work is outstanding! She is extremely friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the procedure. In addition, she is great at explaining options and recommendations. I'm sad to even leave one star; however, a star is required to leave a review. Dr. Jefferis was kind and seemed to be genuine; however, last year I came to Dr. jefferis and was told I needed to have a crown out on one of my teeth. I followed with her suggestion, from the start to finish my experience was horrible. I believe it's her assistant, or hygienist I'm not sure she was rude and did quite a bit of the work which I believe the dentist herself should have been doing. I sat in the chair after getting a shot for over an hour prior to the dentist working on me at which time the Novocain was wearing off. Once the drilling was done I was fitted with a temp crown to hold me over until the permanent one was in. When I got home that night I had excruciating pain which shot all the way down my neck. I figured I was just being a baby, I wasn't. When I went back 2 weeks later to have the permanent crown placed I was not numbed by any means (again this being my first crown I was unaware of the process) I was told the pain from the cement would be uncomfortable but should let last long. It hurt so bad that I cried. I actually couldn't eat until the following day. About 6 month later I still had problems with that tooth I decided to co tact a specialist and was told that the silver filling in my tooth should have been removed and replaced prior to placing the crown. I had problem after problem with this tooth and still have sensitivity where that crown is place; however I can not afford to have it worked in further so I am dealing with it. Yesterday I went to another dentist to start the process of yet another crown after fear and months of putting this off I knew I had to get it done. I am so relieved to say the dentist I went to was amazing, I have no pain or discomfort and the dentist himself is the one the did all of the work not his assistant. Today I have no pain with the temporary crown and can eat easily. South valley dental place such a fear of dentists in me that I was to scared to even walk into a dental office. I'm happy I have started to face this fear and now have a good dentist. I would not recommend this vets office to anyone. I do not believe anything from the start to the end of my time with this office was professional. read more

Went to Dr Yamaguchi for years. Wonderful doctor. New dentist acquired practice. Made routine appt. left in waiting room for an hour. Rescheduled. Next appt same treatment. While waiting past my appt time clearly heard them offering to do extra work on patient and patient agreed. Another person was called back in and went back for treatment. Again all way after my scheduled appt time while I was left sitting and waiting. Not sure why this unprofessional treatment was necessary but am sure that whoever is in charge knows. read more
