Take out only. Our first time here craving for Filipino food. We were in the area and were greeted nicely by the young gentleman who showed us the menu. It was about 4:30pm and there were no customers dining in. They close at 6pm. We ordered Daing na bangus, pinakbet, halo halo and beef kare kare. We sat in the waiting area about 15 minutes. The halo halo was brought out first and it was so good and refreshing on a hot summer afternoon. Shortly after the entrees were given to us. Everything smelled so good. When we got home, we couldn't wait to eat the food and just dive right in. The food was still piping hot and delicious, not too fattening and not too salty. Yummy, savory and reasonably priced dishes. We ordered sisig, pinakbet, fresh lumpia, bistek and cassava cake. All were good. The sisig was very tasty but I'm used to the crispy pork. This one wasn't crispy but still loved it. It's too labor intensive to make fresh lumpia at home so we ordered it. It did not disappoint. The wrapper was soft (thin crepe) and the sauce perfectly paired with it. The filling was also perfect. The serving is huge. all of the dishes are shareable. Rice is ordered separately but very cheap. Service was 5 stars. They are so friendly and professional. You can feel the positive vibes while eating. Place is not that big but spacious enough to have several tables Not a lot of diners but there was a lot of "to go" as well as catering orders. People kept coming in and out to pick up their orders. Unassuming restaurant in the heart of South Sacramento. I got to meet the owner's sons Kenneth and Kevin, both super accommodating polite individuals. They told us that their parents are Filipina and Chinese, resulting in the restaurants dual heritages. Their father is the chef and his food is amazing! We tried the vegan kare kare which definitely exceeded expectations. Super rich, almost like a curry, but without that specific spice. The sotanghon is their version of chow mein with jelly noodles, also really delicious. It usually comes with three types of protein, but we only tried it with shrimp. Still delicious! They also make their table chili oil in house and it is delicious. Not as spicy as most but very flavorful and added to every dish, makes everything super yummy. I also got to try their chicken lumpia. Standard, crispy, and savory. I would like to come back to try their chicken wings, I'm hearing that it is a best seller! This restaurant is a gem! We've been passing by this restaurant for years and had been curious as they serve both Chinese and Filipino food. We were really more interested in the Filipino food, as there aren't many options in Sacramento. My husband says that the Filipino food has a Chinese influence here. It's definitely a more hole-in-the-wall place. We came at around lunch time and were warmly greeted by two ladies. A couple of other parties came in after us. We ordered 4 dishes to share, and they came out pretty fast! 1) Pinakbet - probably my favorite dish. It's a simpler dish with vegetables including eggplant, bitter melon, okra, tomato, kabocha, pork. I liked that the bitter Leon had a but of a wok char flavor. The eggplant had a bit of an oil taste but I'm aware that restaurants will fry the eggplant and then stir fry it into the fish to maintain the color...I actually liked that oil taste haha. 2) Kare Kare - it's a peanut butter stew with vegetables including eggplant, bokchoy, green beans, and oxtail. The oxtail is so tender. They also provide a shrimp paste and that adds some salt and pungent flavor. 3) Pancit palabok - as you'd expect with the addition of tofu. I wished they had more chicharron on there for texture 4) Bopis - diced pig ear with some jalapeños and peppers. This was seasoned so well and goes well when mixed with rice. I attended an event where the main course was a lechon from South Villa. I had only see whole pig at a luau so I was excited. I watched in awe as a friend prepared the pork to be eaten. I had a piece with some crunchy skin but the real star of the dish was the sauce. I'm not sure what's it's called but I could take a bath in it! Haven't been here in years so it was almost like a brand new experience! This is a good spot for both Filipino and Chinese cuisine if you just can't decide between the two. It's best enjoyed family style so you can try lots of dishes. The food came out quickly and relatively around the same time so we could enjoy everything while it was hot. Some of my favorites were the beef kare kare, fried chicken (so crispy similar to tempura batter!), and the Hong Kong style chow mein. The Shanghai lumpia was nicely made as well. I was most excited for the sizzling sisig but it was actually my least favorite. It was not diced into tiny pieces like a traditional sisig and actually tasted more like caldereta than sisig. I do wish they had some Filipino drinks like mango or calamansi juice but all they had were bottled sodas and teas. Overall it was a satisfying meal but nothing too memorable. But considering the Filipino sit-down restaurant options are very limited, this is your best shot if you want something more than just the food court inside of Seafood City! read more

This restaurant is a delicious little gem. I wanted drove over 2 hours to come here and they did not disappoint. Fried chicken: The batter was light and cooked to perfection. The chicken was so juicy it was amazing. 1 order comes with a good amount, so keep that in mind when ordering with other dishes. Kare Kare: Delicious sauce but the bok choy and eggplant were unfortunately highly undercooked. However, the meat was absolutely tender. The price is on the higher side for this dish but Kare Kare is typically pricey so I don't mind. The restaurant seems like a throwback with the Chinese style large family style tables. We ordered the beef chow mein, garlic fried rice, kare-kare, and 'explosive beef.' Everything was delicious, though the explosive beef was a letdown--it wasn't spicy at all despite the menu marking. My husband even mentioned it tasted more like tocino; perhaps the chef forgot the spice! The chow mein had a great wok hei, and the garlic fried rice tasted just like a home-cooked meal. The kare-kare had a perfect, rich peanut flavor, though the homemade-tasting bagoong was a bit 'meh' for me. My only minor gripe was the small water cups; as someone who drinks a lot of water, I wish they had checked on us more for refills. Service inside is pretty good, they don't offer a whole lot of indoor seating due to COVID impact, but they still deliver great quality food and service nonetheless. Uhm, I LOVE THIS PLACE, and I'm so glad it's up and running and getting it's flowers recently. We had a family of 12 come in and we ordered ahead. We got the honey walnut shrimp (delicious), the orange chicken (delicious and tender), Hong Kong style chow mein (crunch and delicious), lechon kuwali (delicious and crunchy). I doubted my husband when he only ordered a halo halo for us to share, but they were delicious and he was right - we needed to share because the portion was so good. We were taken aback by the out of order sign at the restroom, but when we asked if it was out of order, we were told that the sign was up to deter the homeless (lol). We ended up getting the kare kare and crispy fried chicken. The chicken was juicy, hot, and seasoned simply yet deliciously. The kare kare was rich, creamy, and savory and the oxtail was tender. I still don't know what sorcery they're doing back there to be able to maintain that huge of a menu, but this food tasted GOOD so I ain't questioning it and I'm definitely coming back. It's not perfection, but it's solid homey comfort food that leaves you satisfied. The price for the portion you get is also decent. Ambiance 3/5 Good amount of seating for dining in with medium sized groups. Not the most put together in terms of decor or organization/aesthetic. It's got a family owned, old hole-in-the wall look. The tables and seats were clean. Service 5/5 There was only one employee there when we came in, and we were the only ones dining it at the time at around 5pm on a Friday evening. However, there was a consistent amount of customers coming in and out to pay and retrieve food to-go so we could tell she was busy with a lot of tasks. Even so, she managed to maintain attentiveness and was nice and accommodating despite having so many others demanding her attention. Everything I ate was sooooo tasty from Pancit, Bulalo (beef broth soup), honey walnut prawns, sautéed vegetables, crispy sweet n' sour beef, Kare-Kare and more. There wasn't a dish I didn't like, yep it was that good. Service was great, this family owned restaurant feels very "home-y", such cozy ambiance. Not a big order. It's what my mom wanted for Mother's Day . Lady who was taking the phone order was rude, blew off my order because it was only one, never took my name or phone number. I still went to the restaurant and I looked at the pick up table and there were only big orders. I figured they never took my name or number so they didn't make it anyways. The BEST Filipino Chinese Food in the Sacramento, close enough to Elk Grove, area. Ordered food from them for a small party of approximately 30 people. We taste-tested everything before ordering just to make sure it was great for our guests. What did we come up with as the final menu for the party? 1) Fried Chicken(Medium Tray) 2) Mechado(small tray) 3) Dinuguan(small tray) 4) Pancit Miki Bihon(mix of large and small noodles)(small tray). ALL were a big hit! Everyone loved the food! All the dishes were amazing.
