We usually get the half chicken with either rice or pancit. The half chicken is huge. The chicken is always juicy and crispy, and taste great with the gravy. The gravy itself is light but flavorful. We also love their pancit. It tastes just like what Lola would make. The inside space has several tables for dine in. The space isn't big but the turn over is fast. The staff are easy going. Disclaimer for anybody just stopping by to eat here on your drive home....call your order in ahead of time so that they will for sure have food available for you(and your family) to actually eat, otherwise the lil one at the register will keep saying"...oh, unfortunately, we ran out of that..." OR "...unfortunately, it will be a 40 min wait for that..." i mean, they told us they ran out of rice?? What filipino anything 'ran out of rice' ?? ...THIS place! Lol Anyway, we came in 3 fams deep and basically the restaurant was probably not ready to accommodate alot of orders taken 2.5 hours prior to closing time on a sunday. Also, its sacramento summer heat at 103 degrees outside and this spot only using overhead room fans and a portable fan sitting on top the coldest thing inside the restuarant, cola fridge. We had to make sure the kids ate something so we ordered the pork adobo and rice with some lumpia on the side. At least our other fam was able to order silogs and a few savory chicken combo....i guess timing is a virtue here. Cost is not bad for what the food is, just wish it was ready available. Overall thought....theres no more Savory Chicken in milpitas and this the only one to get it if you are craving it and live in sf bay area. There was a point in time where I would come here on a monthly basis during my college days. I recently went back after 10+ years and it still serves great chicken. The restaurant still looks the same and you can dine inside again. I'm glad they survived COVID. I recently called in an order so I wouldn't have to wait for my food when I got there. The server/girl who answered the phone was really nice and great. She got my order down quickly and efficiently. I ordered the combo plate with half fried chicken, longanisa, upgraded to garlic rice and got extra gravy. I also ordered a side of 6 piece pork lumpia as well. The food is as good as always. It is a lot of food so I got 2 meals out of it. It really hit the spot. My only complaint was the rice tasted old since the texture was like day old rice and really dry. My son saw an IG video for their fried chicken. The name itself should convince you to try them! Savory Fried Chicken is a Filipino restaurant hidden in Laguna Village Plaza. Plenty of parking. Although we got our food to go, there are about 10 tables to dine in. They also have a catering menu. Glazed Chicksilog (Breakfast Special) You get half fried chicken served with garlic rice and 2 eggs cooked any way you want. I like my over medium. Glazed sauce on the side. The chicken is indeed savory, juicy and crispy. The glazed sauce is like a sweet, syrupy teriyaki sauce. I like it but I think I like the regular chicken sauce more. It used to be good but lately whenever I have a friend dead set on going I never enjoy the food. The chicken is dry unfortunately! They never have halo halo, I've had to call to ask rather than bother driving there and it's always no. Lumpia is a good snack but other than that just not worth it. The chicken was Aaammaazing!! My foodie daughter ordered the half chicken and a side of the lumpias to go. It's at least an easy 20mins wait but was definitely worth it. The place appears to be clean and a cute decor of the Nipa or bamboo house decoratively adorns their flat screen television. They have the typical giant wooden fork and spoon and even a metal art of a rooster on one side of the registers. The workers behind the counter are nice and friendly. I ordered the Half fried chicken, longaniza and steam rice. I also bought a side order of their pork lumpia and the girl at the counter said they are Shanghai versions. I ordered it to go. They told me to wait 10 mins. It was around 2:30pm when I ordered on a Saturday. While I waited for my food, I notice the art paintings that depicted life in the Philippines. Got my food and left to go home. I have to say.....the portion of the fried chicken is big. It's practically a whole leg that gives you the breast too. I had to save again and ate it again at another meal setting. I got two of the sweet longaniza and it was nicely cooked. We visited Savory Chicken on Saturday, July 18 around 7:00 p.m., and it was one of the best dining experiences we've had! The fried chicken was absolutely amazing--cooked to perfection with a crispy, golden exterior and juicy, flavorful meat on the inside. The lumpia was also on point--crispy, fresh, and delicious! What really made our visit unforgettable, though, was the customer service. There were two young men working (I'm so disappointed I didn't get their names!) who went above and beyond. They were incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming. They took their time with us while we decided what to order and never once made us feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing them. To make it even more impressive, we came in close to closing time, and you would have never known it. The chicken is very good. My husband and I love their fried chicken, it's full of flavor and I really enjoy the gravy on the side. For 2 meals, it came out to be around $35. It's a great deal considering the portions are huge. We've never eaten inside but we plan on doing so. There's plenty of room to dine in and I appreciate the homey feel of the decor. We were looking for Filipino food and its our FIRST TIME to eat here at Savory. I have kids and Eldery seniors with me. We came in the resturant and I settled them on the table. They only have menu list no photo or descriptions, so I open my yelp to show my elderly parents photo of the food and servings to help them decide and get their orders..however... halfway browsing, the Guy at the cashier, called our attention from a far in a very loud voice, "Are you going to eat here?" " "You have to order here " "We are not going there!" with other customer looking towards us.. I was very surprised, with the demeanor.. So I just decided to walk to the counter unprepared of our order.. I did tell him that we were looking at the menu and pictures, but he did not even acknowledge... he seems so impatient in taking our order, and answering my questions on the menu.. but i let it pass... When they served our food at our table, My husband accidentally tipped over the flimsy styro cup and water spilled on the table and floor...my husband and I look around for help.. and saw the same cashier guy on his cellphone was just sitting right across us.. my husband was asking his help, he did not even move an inch.. look up, or even assist to call another staff... I dont know if he was just in a very bad mood or he is having a bad day.. but i wish he was a bit nicer.. It's been a couple of years since I've had SFC and their food is still delicious. I used to do phone orders but now their online ordering system is better. It was easier to place an order and customize rice options: steamed, garlic or java. They also provide a text once the order is ready for pickup. It's that time of year. Almost time for Thanksgiving! If you think that this place can only do chicken for Thanksgiving, guess again. They can do a Whole Deep Fried Turkey! We had this last year, and I think we were told we got the last turkey order. So this year we made sure to go early. So... the only issue I have with this place is that it's VERY DIFFICULT getting a hold of someone on the phone, which is annoying if you want to place an order in advance. But for us, it's not too far, so it's not a deal breaker. But keep that in mind. Also, they still do not have indoor seating. I'm assuming it's a permanent thing now, so if you think you can dine-in, you cannot.
